Then he used Geass to make that dude help them escape. To other people, It looked like he was trying to Help them escape because he didn't want "orange" to be exposed. Though it was just a plan by lelouch to possible Negate the idea that he had some type of special power to other people. Orange doesn't exist at all.

I think that Lelouch sometimes uses selfish methods to bring about his noble ideals. He is definitely more extreme than most people when it comes to changing the world. However, he saw a world that needed change, and when he couldn't find it anywhere else, he decided to make change, by any means necessary.
