the original piece is from the ballet Petrushka by Igor Stravinsky. This piece is called The Russian Dance. This is the piano version of this song it was originally written for a small size orchestra.

my guess is that this is the piano version of petrouchka written by stravinsky, aka it has some very big cords that either of these two ladies can reach by themselves, and therefore they split the part up. that's just a guess though.
