  • Do they still make these?

  • @shadowboxkennels not real easy to find, but yeah there still around.

  • Rifled Slugs are for smooth bore shotgun barrels, Sabot slugs are meant for rifled shotgun barrels and its usually a long hourglass shape slug in a 2 peice casing inside the shell that falls off the slug as it exits the barrel,

  • excellent demo!!! THANKS.

  • m sono molto belli...

ma per mostrare meglio il video.... usa un cavalletto

    by moski

  • nasty nasty nasty

  • are these good 4 shooting @ people

  • @istuddd Since you're typing like a little kid, no, they hurt people badly and you shouldn't touch a gun if you find one and then tell an adult.

  • @AdmiralGST how bro i live next to hajis ...i want to be able 2 defend myself

  • @istuddd You should learn to type in a more respectable manner, your questions would be answered sooner. Yes these are good, they are designed to be used for Police shotguns and Civilian HD shotguns.

  • @AdmiralGST lol thnx hommie

  • 0:47 "Got my wet big time"

  • @hehe691 That's what she said!

  • that think looks like a little angle food cake of death.

  • 3300 joules

  • And Goodnight

  • i got guns and i got dogs im so protected and awesome if someone tries to break in i shoot them and my dogs cause i'll just go buy new ones.

  • @KA3NMNP hahah

  • mommy mommy there someone in the house!!!

    im here son * bang*

now hes all over the house mommy!

dont worry honey ll clean it up * cocks gun*

  • @medadoodie Thank you again. This is good advice.

  • I would love to see you shoot some wax slugs into ballistics gel.

  • why are there 3 inch shells for slugs?

  • @skateboy159 The 3" shells are considered 'magnum' shells. They have slightly more velocity at the expense of increased recoil. There are also 3 1/2" shells as well.

  • @andreleger2001 3 1/2" shells are 10 gauge, are they not?

  • @riley191919 10 ga. shells come in 3 1/2'', but 12 ga. does also.

  • @medadoodie Alright, you do bring up a good point. I guess I would still worry about the lead fouling the rifling, which if left uncleaned could lead to other issues. Thank you for correcting me.

  • Jeez if you get shot with these you can stick your tumb right in the hole and try to retrive it with two fingers. posibly 3.

  • Shotguns (20ga and 12ga) using "Slugs" (rifled or otherwise) are the only true (proven) "Manstoppers".

Yeah...I know all about the power of the "Magnum" handguns but even Mythbusters demonstrated that ONLY a Shotgun loaded for the job (aka: Slugs) will put enough kinetic energy into a man-sized target to move it significantly.

Yes, handguns do amazing tissue damage but that is not necessarily a "Stop".

00 and 000 shotgun ammo gets unpredictable beyond 50yds.

So..Rifled Slugs are the way to go.

  • @hammerogod buckshot will stop someone hands down. theres no walking away from that.

  • @HeraldOfHypo

Buck is 100% lethal within it's design parameters.

    But:

~1~ Buck tends to spread rapidly and it is possible to completely miss a man sized target at distances greater than 50 yds.

~2~ Buck does not deliver it's kinetic energy as quickly as a Slug and may not "Stop".

It's not about walking away, it's about not allowing another step forward.

Up close and personal Buck is 100% lethal.

But the idea is not to watch someone die it's about stopping them cold before they do harm.

  • @hammerogod if im shooting at someone, especially with a shotgun, i'm throwing as much lead down range as i can. for home defense i keep my mossberg 500 roadblocker loaded, unracked, with the safety off. I live in a semi-crowded suburban environment with neighboors on either side. because of my circumstances my load are as follows. first shot is a #4 buck, followed by a #1 buck, followed by 00 buck. I have 3 dogs that would go life and limb if anyone broke into my house, between the dogs a rack

  • @HeraldOfHypo i doubt i would be put into a situation where i would need to actually discharge, which gives me a certain peace of mind. If it did come down to it and my trained dogs couldn't disarm an assailant (which i have no doubt they wouldn't have a problem with, i've seen it done countless time in exercises) and i did have to put the poor sucker out of his misery, should i have a 1 ounce slug or two loaded in the end of my tube? i dont want to shoot my dogs, and i dont mind racking out

  • keep a 12 gauge loaded with a mix of 000 buck and these by my bedside.

  • That's a game over situation right there.

  • Sabots are meant for rifled barrels because they are just like any rifled barrel, the barrel puts the spin on the round. You can shoot sabot in a smooth bore, but will not get the rifling effect, so no spin equals bad accuracy compared to something spinning. I really hope this helps. Every, be safe and ejnoy shooting! Also, thank you andreleger for all the videos.

  • For everyone asking if you can shoot these in a smooth bore or a rifled bore. Here you go.You can shoot anything from a smooth bore.Rifled slugs are made to be shot from a smooth bore.DO NOT shoot rifled slugs in a rifled barrel. There are slugs called Sabot, these are made just for rifled barrels.Rifled slugs have built in rifling, which puts the spin on the slug out of the smooth bore barrel. The built in rilfing will cause damage to your rifled barrel. Sabot slugs are smooth.

  • do you know if they make these in 20g?

  • @satisfiction They only make these in 12.

  • @jmkpns dang i figured. shoulda bought a 12

  • @satisfiction I bought a 12 just to have it, I don't ever hardly use it except when we do skeet practice.

  • Got me wet big time!

  • Awesome video! Very informative.

  • 0:49 thats what she said. hahahahahaha

  • i want to buy theese

  • la calidad de esta munición es muy mala!! todas las balas para escopeta que fabrica esta marca son de mala calidad!!

the quality of the ammunition is very bad! all for shotgun bullets that makes this brand are of poor quality!

  • can an 870 express shoot these bc there rifled?

  • @2121gcard Any shotgun should be able to shoot these.

  • @andreleger2001 True. Turns any smooth bore barrel into a temporarily rifled barrel!

  • @groov539 A crappy one for distance past 50 yards in my experiance.

  • @2121gcard u can get a non rifled barrel for the 870 express but its cheaper just to buy a whole nother gun i have 2 870s

  • I use Federal Power Shok 3" magnums and they work just as good and a lot cheaper

  • jesus christ!!! that would tear the hell outta someone!!

  • i like the 20ga winchester rifled deer slugs them fuckers pack a punch

  • @trigun890 20 gauge is for wusses...12 gauge is a mans shotgun :)

  • @RantinAndRavin to me they have the same kick cause im 200 pounds and 6 feet tall so i cant tell the diff i just got a 20 cause the slugs fly faster and are a hell of alot more accurate

  • 0:47

    That's what she said.

  • if i was in body armor i would not want to be on the recieving end of that...

  • A 12 gauge slug is going to do massive damage to whatever it hits, Hyda-Shok or not.

  • 1) Hold your breath.

    2) Copy all of these steps.

    3) Go to two other video.

    4) Paste it in the comments.

If you can do all of this without breathing you're a god

  • can i shoot those out of a shotgun with a smoothbore barrel or do i need a rifled barrel

  • @zackoggy34 These shoot fine with a smooth bore.

  • @zackoggy34 Do not use a rifled barrel only smooth bore

  • ALL MAH WATA

  • This is a great test, of a great slug. I've got about 6 boxes of them left, with one sitting in the tube of my Benelli for home defense. Any chance you could do the same/similar test with the Winchester Ranger LE slugs? I just got a bunch of them too, and would like to see how they compare as far as penetration and expansion.

  • @SeriesOfTubes101 I will see if I can round up some of those for testing.

  • @andreleger2001 Thanks! If it helps any I got them from SGAmmo

  • @SeriesOfTubes101 what benelli do you have? i am thinking of getting a benelli m4.. i have heard great things about them from people selling them but haven't heard from anyone that owns one..

  • @mannatech360 I've got a Benelli Supernova Tactical model, pistol grip stock, and factory adjustable ghost ring sights. I absolutely love this shotgun, it's deadly accurate, cycles smooth, not a bad thing to say about it other than how hard and expensive it is to find parts for. But, for a tactical shotgun with a rotating bolt that will take 3.5" shells that cost me $450 new, I can live without being able to find a collapsing stock for it.

  • @SeriesOfTubes101: why would you use a 12 bore slug for home defense? that's going to tear through the guy and kill him, sure, but it's also going to make a big expensive hole in your wall.

  • @PooPoo2U I use 00 buckshot, 2 rounds of it and then a slug if needed. Better be safe then sorry.

  • @PooPoo2U someone is in my home intending on hurting me and my family, i will more than happily fix the hole in the wall knowing he wont come back lol

  • @PooPoo2U I have two rounds of #4 buck in the tube first. The Tactical HP Slug is a "last-resort-worst-case-scenario-stop-them-now" final punch if need be, in case I have to fire through cover like a wall or door, or for ranges where the shot would no longer be effective out of an 18.5" non-choked barrel.

  • @SeriesOfTubes101: in a pinch my shotgun would be the last gun i'd grab, but that being the case it's loaded with 3.5" flechette rounds

  • @andreleger2001 how effective is the range on the shotgun using these rounds????

  • @runhorun I would say about 100 yards.

  • I get so sick of people who buy something, then pan around it with their camera with no commenting. It drives me nuts. What, you think your the first one to own this particular ammo ? It's so moronic. This is UTUBE Folks ! Check first to see if some other idiot thinks he has an exclusive review on what ever he is reviewing.MORONS

  • @demmylowther Well, if you took the time to check out his channel you would see what it is all about. I would bet most of us viewing this channel are beyond needing to be spoon fed step by step what is going on. You apparently have not reached that point yet. Observation.....ya know? Noticing or paying close attention, to your surroundings, in order to gain information.

  • Would these work for deer hunting?

  • @SupremeAmerican Yes I would think it would drop a deer nicely.

  • @andreleger2001 maybe even a gangsta deer

  • @SupremeAmerican Nope, only jug hunting.

  • @SupremeAmerican I use federal premium barnes expander tipped slug for deer hunting they have higher velocity and more penetration. Only for a rifled barrel though.

  • @cave62 I only have smoothbore. I'm thinking regular foster or brenneke rifled slug within 100 yards.

  • @cave62 Cause these dont seem to have the velocity i'm looking for.

  • @SupremeAmerican

    or hogs!!!

  • @escueladeleyi you hunt hogs where you live?

  • @jasong19711

They actually encourage the hunting of feral hogs where I live. We are over run with the bastards.

  • @bullcurr Man, I would love to go after those tasty buggers.

  • It is “Tactical federal premium law enforcement” according to the box! Great video except for the title.

  • @scarfinger68 I checked over the box and you are right it does not say anything about hydra-shok. I got these from ammunitiontogo and they are advertising them as Hydra-Shok's. In either case they do have a tiny nub post that distinguishes them from other foster style rifled slugs.

  • @andreleger2001 They are still Hydra-Shok slugs. I've got a box right next to me, on the side it says "Federal Premium Law Enforcement - 12Ga 2-3/4in 1oz Maximum Hydra-Shok HP Rifled Slug Low Recoil Muz Vel 1300fps".

  • Modern day Minnie' ball. awesome round.

  • great vid thanks for posting

  • if i shoot hollow point slugs through my stoger uplander will it damage the barrel

  • @wilderness1996 Generally, manufacturers make slugs smaller than the tightest choke to prevent any problems. Check with your manufacturer to be sure.

  • @wilderness1996 No screw in Choke? If you have a screw in choke, you can change it to a modified choke and it should be fine.

  • It looks like a lead LifeSaver. It would make about a one inch hole exiting a torso.

  • hey do i need a rifled shotgun barrel to use slugs? or could i just use slugs unrifled?

  • @ChazOneZeroSeven A smooth bore barrel is fine for these (they are not sabot slugs).

  • @andreleger2001 Oh awesome

  • @ChazOneZeroSeven there are two kinds of slugs, rifle slugs for smooth bore barrels with open chokes, and sabots for rifle shotgun barrels, you could buy a rifle choke tube and use sabots in a smooth bore as well

  • What's the percentage of one-shot stops with these? haha

  • i really hope your camera is waterproof lol

  • That lead donut would ruin your day; thanks for the good info you provide with your videos.

  • JESUS, I want some of those!

  • one word - ouch! I imagine the stopping power is getting up there with this "load", I'm thinking clean thru and thru with a massive exit. "Yes um mamm, doyle said to call the amb-you-lanse, er thu' hurst!" Nice. Thanks for the videoformation on this baby.

  • That's gonna leave a mark.

  • damn thing look like a miniature donut when shot.jeez...and the first jug looked like it was in pain.

  • There is no such thing as a Hydra-Shok rifled shotgun slug. Even the box says so.

  • 1601 fps?? damn...

  • Wow i didn't know there was a hydrashock 12 ga slug.

  • they make a reduced recoil version of this slug as well 1300 fps

  • An engine block may be a bit much for an all lead slug to punch through, but it would be a great test to post. I will have to look for an engine now lol.

  • @andreleger2001 hows the recoil

  • This one is not too bad. I don't like shooing magnums and I think that the extra recoil is not worth the slight increase in terminal ballistics. These are standard shells and the recoil is not bad.

  • @andreleger2001 Thanx reason i ask is cause i own the mossberg 500 pistol grip i haven't tooken it to the range yet ive shot shotguns in the past the long barred kicked like heck but never shot a 18 in pistol grip! its sweet though makes my shotgun look smaller love it

  • @andreleger2001 Dude can you help me out i called all my local gun shops they say they dont have them sucks well i didnt call all of them but i called alot and im from texas where did you buy yours?

  • I got these from ammunitiontogo.

  • @404040c Wow!,those really flatten out when they impact .

  • @404040c

I get mine in Austin at GT Distributors GTDIST dot COM

  • Once again, awesome test. I bought a bunch and had not gotten the chance to shoot them and was wondering how they would perform. Impressive results, keep up the good work.

  • That will clean someones colon

  • Dam, I think this is the best home defense ammo yet.

  • Whoever gets BLASTED by these and aint dead.........probably wishes they WERE!

  • Impressive... Do you think that round would be an effective "man stopper"? LOL!

  • Great vid. I like how you showed an unfired slug and a recovered one.

  • Nice lead "lifesaver".

  • not bad looking round good job as always 5*....Hey by the way whats your favorite shotgun round?

  • Oh man, thanks for doing this shotgun ammo video. :)

    Great test.

  • Awesome video.

  • great video, that slug looks like it would quite a bit of damage lol where did you happen to pick up a box of those?

  • ammunitiontogo
