Women's rights were gained through the ballot box. Black's gained their rights through blood and constitutional amendments, which the courts reinforced. Gay marriage has neither votes nor legal rights.

Gay marriage has been approved in 5 states where it has remained. 3 other states have legalized it through the courts or through legislation and had it overturned by an unfair referendum.

Women's right to vote was passed legislatively. There was no National popular vote on women's right to vote. So you're wrong.

Gay marriage does indeed have legal rights in 5 states as of right now.

The 19th amendment gave women the right to vote. Blacks also got the post Civil War Amendments to give them their rights. The courts subsequently reinforced these rights that were guaranteed.

Again, please tell me what rights of blacks and women were voted on by national referendum? They were passed legislatively and in the courts. The 14th Amendment protects us as equal citizens already and the Federal Government needs to live up to the standards our forefathers created.

Marriage is a civil right, look up the definition of "civil right." Therefore ALL citizens should be treated equally under the law. Please tell me how this should not apply and I beg of you to be specific.
