Saying your worthless chasing you around the shop with a chain saw. He gets promoted I get fired. I went to HR about 8 times alone..

  • I definatly empatize with you. Until recently I worked for another cable company, but the corporate culture is still the same. The executives and upper management don't care about there employees or there customers. All they care about is how many dollers they make!

  • Crazy. I work as a dispatcher in MD dispatchers regularly fail to verify Cancels and then technicians have to re-roll on the same jobs when customers call back. These dispatchers don't lose their jobs, I don't see why this guy would've lost his.

    But "CM" doesn't tell me that the customer canceled. "per cx contact, cx canceled" tells me the cx canceled. But then again, I never meet my 60 second call duration goal.

  • Sweetheart thats not why you got the bill for 250. Whoever told you that your bill was so high wasnt being honest with you. What happens is you have to pay your installation fee the day of, also your first bill is a bill for (2)months of service cause the way we bill is a cycle ahead well really (14)days ahead. You're bill was prpbably correct, your information was not. I'm sorry you had a bad experience though. If you need anything now, maybe I can help.

The reason they raided his truck is beccause he was making decent money and they need ANY excuse to fire him.   • The moral is low for representatives that cannot keep up with the demand. If they are unhappy with call center work - MOVE ON, find another job. Not many people can walk and chew gum at the same time. The BPU sets ASA (average speed of answer) standards, so why should comcast pay a fine, because some reps can't process a call in a timely manner. Its always the low performers that complain.

  • This is not true. My performance matrix is excellent. I trouble shoot all three services at comacst and never got a penny for additional resposibilities that where thrust upon me. The tools and applications I work with always go down .. there is no communication between truck,dispatch and call center ..there is a diferrence in rules btween north jersey call centers and south jersey 1 big cluster fuck -the moral is low for more than just people who dont lioke to perform ..dont speak for me

  • I work for Comcast and they trutly are not at all employees focus, nor customer focus They preach that crap but they really dont practice it, for reps are constantly harrased if they are on the phone too long with a customer assiting them on a call when what you are really trying to avoid is that truck roll for you also get penilize for that. They walk over and ask you if you are ok? and before you have time to answer they just dissapear .

  • I work for comcast and quite frankly, atleast at my personal location, I love it. Although the only complaint I have is the shit pay. With that being said for me being a freshman in college, I'm quite satisfied with it. Although I think there could be a lot more done on the customer end, personally I'm searching for a new job because quite often I feel like I'm forced to tell customers things even I don't believe.

Comcast is a publicly traded entity which should have its focus on treating employees fairly and offering good service rather than going around the country trying to build a monopoly so you can force people (such as myself, I'm a renter) to subscribe to you.

  • You are not forced to subscribe to comcast. There are nother options available. DirectTV, DISH,and now Verizon.

  • I live in an apartment complex that has a lease restriction which I cannot have a satellite dish outside of my unit (that rules out DirecTV & DISH). Even if I could, my unit is north-facing. Verizon only offers wireless in my area, leaving my only option as cable. In that [cable], Comcast is THE only game in town.

I listen to how horrible it is everyday and I wish I could tell the customers I agree...except I'd get fired for agreeing about Comcast sucking on the phone. My advise as someone working for them...try to get a different service!

  • This is terrible!...I know many Comcast workers in the Hayward are that takes one and a half to two hour lunches and not doing their jobs!.....They usually hang out at Guadalajara on International Blvd/E. 14th.

  • Comcast doesn't want to work with Unions because it can be counterproductive. If the teamsters have some people working for Comcast, and they need ALL of their members to strike at an establishment, then the Comcast employees that are part of the union MUST strike. This makes for more work for EVERYONE who are not in the union and in the end the only one that suffers is the customer.

  • I work for Comcast. It has consistently been the best job I've ever had. What all of these other "employees" are forgetting to state is that Comcast, like 90% of other major corporations in the country has what's called "at will employment." For those that are unfamiliar with this term, basically it means that the company does NOT need a reason to terminate you.

  • As a comcast tech, I agree with the comment regarding breaks and lunches. Most companies honor 2 15 minute breaks and a half our lunch. Comcast does as well.....unless you are a technician.What kind of lunch is it when you have to grab a sandwich and eat it on your way to your next job. And as far as 2 15 min breaks...forget it. The same people that are dishing out all the work to keep us over-busy are certainly getting their hour worth of breaks and lunches.

  • If you've never worked for Comcast you may view this man as a malcontent. As a former employee I can say I have no doubt in my mind he is being 100% truthful.

  • What the public may not be aware of is Comcast encourages it's employees to skip their lunches by assigning them 12 to 14 hours work for a 10 hour shift. If you have the audacity to take your breaks and lunch you will be behind on your appointments and written up for not completing enough points which is their way of measuring productivity. If you inform your supervisor you are overloaded with work and have to cut out your breaks and lunch you will be written up for violating labor laws.

  • Comcast, actively seeking write ups recently attempted to trim payroll deciding it was a wonderful idea to search the installers vehicles while they attended a company picnic, and wouldn't you know it they inspected mostly seasoned techs at the higher end of the pay scale. Yay for Comcast reprimands galore. I ask anyone who reads this not to support a corporation which, by design creates an atmosphere of fear for it's employees to work in.

  • This is true. I was a top agent at a call centre, and when I started to get the spot light, they found a reason to terminate me. I didn't bother to pursue it, because they weren't worth it. Kudos to Mr. Goodo for pursuing this.

  • This employee was not in a union. You can't win a lawsuit because it is legal to fire a non-unionized employee for anything. It is only illegal if you discriminate against a protected class. The Bush NLRB decided that even though the complaint was fabricated, it couldn't be proved that it was fabricated to violate his rights under the National Labor Relations Act.
