What was really cool about shows like Love Boat and Fantasy Island was that stars from different NETWORKS would guest star. CBS' Patrick Duffy (Dallas) and Harry Morgan (M*A*S*H) and NBC's the great Jose Ferrer (Another World) all on an ABC show. Nowadays, you truly can't pull that off. Oh, yeah, let's have MTV's Snooki on Bravo's Real Housewives of _______! Doesn't have the same magic or class does it?
Col. Potter, Bobby Ewing, Jessica Tate (Helmond's role on "Soap", which was big then), Cindy from 3s Company (future infomercial queen Harrison.), Michelle Phillips, a koala and a kangeroo.
LoL love this german version.. LoL... 11:seconds " Elizabeth the Koala" and 23:seconds " Tiny the Kangaroo".... LoL. And Juli still looking so damn fine !... Lmao
I remember watching the Love Boat (and Fantasy Island) on a regular basis every Sat. night back in the early-mid 1980s when it still was originally on the air. There was and is something so SOOTHING about the opening theme as well as each and every episode. Entertaining too. Saturday nights are just not the same these days without The Love Boat (and Fantasy Island) airing on its usual channel (ABC) in its usual time slot (Love Boat: 9pm est, Fantasy Island: 10pm est). Its a crying shame, really.
This show is where new stars are made and old stars are returned to their former glory. It's bizarre to see Mona, Bobby and Col. Potter on the same boat, though.
I don't even know the theme songs to half the shows on T.V., now. I guess because...THEY DON'T MAKE THEME SONGS ANYMORE!!! I'm so glad I was growing up during this time. It's sad, but I think the best days of entertainment are behind us.
I loved this show. I loved this theme song. I loved the cast and most of all I loved television when people had talent and vision.
To echo another poster, peace upon you, Mr. Spelling and thank you.
I vaguely remember this episode but I need help. Did Elizabeth the Koala get a one night stand with Harry Morgan or Jose Ferrar? And, if I remember correctly, Tiny the Kangaroo was wooed into the sack by Jennilee Harrison.
I would have loved to have seen the look on Oscar-winner Jose Ferrer's face when his agent informed him he'd be doing a guest spot on The Love Boat and he'd be billed AFTER Elizabeth, the Koala.
That's exactly why. "The Love Boat" always billed their guest stars in alphabetical order. In any respect, nobody held a gun to their head to take a guest spot on the show. Maybe they did it because they actually enjoyed their work!
Either that or they needed to take a break and/or promote their other shows. I believe "Dallas", "Dynasty", and "M*A*S*H" all benefitted from their respective stars' appearances on this show.
This is the episode where Julie goes to Australia to marry Anthony Andrews, who dumps her at the altar. Earlier in the series, she went to Alaska to accept the proposal of a man who had proposed to her earlier in the series, only to find out he was married.
Wow! What a week on the Love Boat...Elizabeth the Koala AND Tiny the Kangaroo...and Patrick Duffy? OK - who knows which one the Koala hooked up with - Patrick Duffy or Patrick Ward? My money is on the Duffle-bag...
This series sucked! It was cancelled here after only 29 eps. Later on, it continued WELL after it had finished. No wonder. It was used as a time filler at 3 a.m.
Very interesting seeing the German credits, which used edits from the 1977 season mixed in with later shots that seem unique—certainly not what we saw in Anglo countries. But I remember this, complete with Patrick Duffy trying to do a New Zealand accent (playing a Taranaki farmer!).
I remember when it was later revealed the ''Mermaid's'' were actually young Spanish guys in drag! It sounds like a joke, I know, but it's apparently very true.

Some other putz was billed after a frickin Kangaroo.lol

It was alphabetical order, that's the only possible explanation.
