Why is it that all of those who are against science and against Dr Wakefield (champion of autistic children) who proved autism to be directly related to vaccines... being targeted by mostly atheists who suck the cucumber of Journalists? What the hell? I thought atheists advocated science?!

@faro0485 well primarily because he DIDN'T prove a connection with autism! His data was utterly fraudulent and based the results of just twelve children with no control. That he was on the take from a company that wanted to discredit MMR so they could increase sells of their single vaccine. Since his scare there has been a huge increase in horrible but utterly avoidable diseases in children within 1st world cities! Finally because atheists understand evidence based medicine!

This is VS the 14 global studies conducted properly with a double blind control on 600 thousand children showing no connection between vaccination and autism! He was rightfully struck off and if I had my way he would be jailed for life for all the thousands of children who have now died from Measles and Mumps because they failed to be vaccinated!

Having just read the Lancet Paper, the British Medical Journal dissection of the paper and the findings of the GMC hearing it is clear to me that Wakefield is -

A shameful fraudster, a fabricator of evidence, he made up patients to fit in with the research criteria and has breached the ethical duties of a research Doctor. He has now cleverly launched a lawsuit in Texas, Familiarise yourself with SLAPP laws and you will see why he has filed suit there. He should be ashamed of himself.

Have you read the allegations against Brian Deer, Fiona Godlee and the BMJ in the lawsuit? The allegations of fraud against Dr. Wakefield and his colleagues was, in fact, FRAUDULENT. There are pharmaceutical interests at play behind Wakefield's downfall. Everything you read was designed to protect a multi-billion dollar industry. The Lancet paper was not fraudulent.

@kirked007 Ever since I had some shot forced on me as a Toddler which caused me to arch my back & scream until too exhausted to do it anymore because I felt something evil taking over my gut I've had serious problems down there, embarrassing, agonizingly painful. As for Wakefield's paper not concluding that MMR caused autism, his bogus research attempted to link MMR to inflammatory bowel disease. Then it was the press conference about the paper where he first added the additional bogus link between that bowel disease and autism, which he himself named "autistic enterocolitis." So to suggest the inference wasn't made by him is at best disingenuous and at worst dishonest.

Additionally... the work done in the initial lancet paper HAS BEEN REPLICATED. I personally interviewed three researchers who've done the work.

A myth about Wakefield is that the Lancet paper recommended against the MMR or that it caused autism. That paper made no such conclusions. Wakefield's recommendations for the single measles, mumps & rubella vaccines were based on a 250 page industry report on the SAFETY studies done on MMR. NOT his paper!!! Learn the facts before you open your mouth.

There was no fraud except on the part of british journalist Brian Deer who claimed that Wakefield and his coauthors faked patient data. That the oral histories taken by the parents and what appeared in the children's medical records were incongruent. That was a lie. THey matched! Deer made that up. And the monies paid for the study... any proceeds were all donated to the Royal Free Hospital... and THAT's verifiable.

Andrew Wakefield is Bernard Madoff with a body count. His fraud has been exposed & his profits from it, accounted for. And like any madman who knows his days are numbered, his last recourse is to invoke a grand conspiracy against him. My son was very affected and I did research years and years after I felt this. I tried to write both sides of the issue but I found mroe and more in supporting Wakefield and this man is someone; as a parent, that he did what he has. He listened in basic sense even in all he has done for the issue; I will always hold a place for his basic need to listen to what we say. He is someone truly what a doctor should be and I hope more and more people do their own education on this matter
