Well their mother somehow went missing in the same area as All Gods Village (play fatal frame 3 theres a document stating this), there´s no data about their father but I assume that he is dead as Mio now lives with her uncle Kei (playable on the 3rd game) so yah her only known family is her uncle but she falls to a deep sleep sometime after the 2nd game end

Sure, Mayu was a bitch, but when you think about it, she was partially possessed by Sae, who wanted her own sister to kill her.

If anything, the real bitch is Mafuyu, who wanted to stay behind with Kirie to "comfort her", even though Miku came all that way, did the hard work, just to be reunited with her brother.

Fatal Frame II made me cry. Fatal Frame I pissed me off.

between the three different endings of this game... is there even a true ending or "real" ending to it. also is there even a difference in the harder difficulty's or is game play the same. and in order to unlock the other 2 endings do u for example have beat it on normal to have the kill her sis ending, beat on hard mode to get the rescue ur sis but get blinded for life ending etc.

@theskyisfaling This ending here is considered cannon. By playing with Easy or Normal difficulty you'll get this ending. By playing on Hard difficulty you'll get the ending where Mayu & Mio survive, but Mio gets blind. The runaway ending is gotten by fleeing from the village when Mayu gets kidnapped by some priests. The ending where Mayu & Mio survive, but Mio won't get blind is only in the Xbox-version and it's gotten by playing on Nightmare difficulty.

@theskyisfaling No, this is the real ending. Same with Fatal Frame 1 where Miku's brother, Mafuyu, dies. In Fatal Frame 3, all three protagonists become cursed because they blame themselves for their loved one's death. Miku for Mafuyu, Mio for Mayu, and Rei for Yuu.
