I believe in term of cyber activities among youths it is foolhardy for adults to attempt to understand complicated social structures as often many things are not a direct abstraction of our real world, for example in videogames people may shoot each other and have a hostile competitive spirit, it does not however mean they infringe on anyone else’s rights as the arena is always fair due to the inherent equality of the internet. Of course any physical action or personalization is not acceptable.

@yuri35435 I agree w/ you to an extent. "Parents" need to teach their children from "infancy" what is & is NOT acceptable social behavior. That's where we are lacking; "No Home-training." Kids today are so ignorant. Parents are allowing them to raise themselves. They buy them gadgets to occupy their time then proceed to ignore what's going on in their own homes right under their nose. These same irresponsible parents will be the 1st to say "not my child" when it's revealed they are bullys.

@nkeeyah Hence, the purpose for the President's addressing this issue, so that adults will Stop just blowing you off!! People need to be made aware that these are 'serious" issues & I'm glad the White House see's it that way. Perhaps the adults who have historically 'blown this off' will themselves be held accountable for their enaction. I think parents who have been made aware of their child's behavior & fail to act, need to be heavily fined & their kid kicked out of school.

The only people who feel this is a waste of time are those who don't really care about other people, have their head in the sand involving their own child's behavior, or have never had to deal with losing a child to the heartlessness of bullying. Any child who is made to feel they need to commit suicide in order to stop "hurting" is a real travesty. Just about every report shows these children to be very smart & often gifted academically in school. Truly sad ...

@San47di1 Thank you. Many adults are blind to bullying. I was one of those being picked on. I was at one point accused of being the bully when in fact I wasn't. Alot of school officials and parents find it easier to say "solve it yourself" than to get off their butts and do something. Pheobe Prince is a prime example of a beautiful and smart girl pushed over the edge by ignorance.
