  • Lovely singing but his English is terrible!

  • One of the best!

  • what a beautiful performance--lovely voice, and very musical

  • Sería interesante saber quién es el laudista.

  • well, this is actually in F minor

  • Very beautiful and moving!

  • Very beautiful and moving! Bravo!

  • Lesne`s version is better than Deller´s & Scholl´s 1, & he is very good-looking

  • Right up there with the Deller and Scholls . Truly exceptional singing and great poise !

  • Magnifique!

  • very expressive!!!

  • an I suppose you know EXACTLY how Dowland pronounced the English language...

  • I think MarMatMal was referring to Gerard's strong French accent, not the era the English was written in. To be fair, his French accent was quite strong in this, though I feel it lended something of an intimate, personal quality to it.

  • I love it when people get voted down for speaking common sense, like it's a bad thing...

  • Many thanks for posting the lyrics.

  • Who is the accompanist?

  • Jacob Heringman, lute.

from cd "Dowland: Ayres; Gérard Lesne & Ensemble Orlando Gibbons".

  • C'est très beau, merci.

  • Not a bad voice, but a little attention to the pronunciation of English might not go amiss...

  • I love Gerard Lesne. Thank you my friend.

  • beautiful voice!
