I'd like this if they made a TracK IR with a 3D Glasses that had two monitors...one for each eye so when you look to the right and left... yoiu dont have to keepy your eyes fixed on a computer screen... your actually looking at the right direction... plus its 3d!
You know what I want, trackir but with a wide angle view and only a few degrees to move so its not making me dzzy, that would be better, less movement back and forth.
@ellonylj You can customize the input mate to move as much or as little as you want. with the more recent interface its very easy to set it up and you can have it different for each game or application.
It's fun, but makes the landing much more harder for me. I just loose my base of view point and it's getting hard for me to hover or land for example (LC and KA-50).
Track IR is a def must have for any kind of sim. Adds a lot of realism and is totally intuitive from the first use. Closest thing to being in the game. Lean forward to zoom in on your target, raise up and look over your seat, lean left and right, awesome! :)
@JizzTechCo When using the term graphically demanding. It's relative to 3 years ago when I did the video. Things change fast with computer hardware.. Lockon used to be the most demanding game around.
Don't you have to move your head with TrackIR? Do you ever accidently look up with your eyes and end up looking at your wall? lol. I imagine a lot of people doing that. I don't think Track IR is really going to be worth it until virtual realy gaming consoles are created.
@ExtraMude The motion is scaleable - so you turn your head a little and the view changes alot. It's very intuitive - I've been using one for 2 years now, and it's the best improvement I've made to my sim. You can also reset your view with a keystroke if you manage to knock it out of whack - rare, but you can do it.
Ya I now have Pentium C2D 2,80 GhZ 4GB DDR II and GF-8800GT with 512mb vram and it's going on high too. On my old computer (PIV 3GhZ 1GB DDRII and GF-7600GT 256 mb vram) it goes on high detail too.
Hi, I have dual core 3.000 Mhz, 1.9 gigabyte RAM and GeForce 8500GT. And I can't play ARMA even on medium. I barely can play it on low settings. Do I need to change my video card?
Wow. Looks really really amazing. I wonder though if I should wait until the graphics improve a bit. If I could play a game like doom3 or the new game come out called 'dead space', or even just experience diving in an ocean looking at coral reef, I'd get this tomorrow. I'm very tempted!
You'd have to build your own led setup though, which can be tedious. Getting the ohms, voltage etc. right takes experience. I will build one eventually, but for now, I think TrackIR is probably a good bet. It's not as expensive as it was.
Last question. If I wanted to buy the flight simulator game (you said it was graphically demanding), is it tough to learn how to fly the plane? I won't have to read through an entire text book to fly it will I?
it's quite a complicated game. Not so much as FSX. but there are good training demo's. I find with games like this the more you learn the more you enjoy it.
What lock on is that? I know you can have 2DOF with a lock on, and 6DOF with the other lockon. I'm gonna play it soon with a saitek joystick and my freetrack system.
im looking forward to get one, but don't know which one, i saw the website, they've got like $200 stuff, i don't think i would be needing that.. i just kinda need to use it in race game not too much of the whole control a little bit of left and right view only i guess. i just need a simple tracking, any enlightment pls? cheers.
Very nice video, nicely explained TrackIR on all games.
By the way, you have GTX and get get problems with textures on the Helicotper on ArmA? Why is that? On Lock On you still can't max out the graphics with a GTX?? Thats amazing!
Sounds strange mate did you install the drivers before plugging it in? I suggest removing it from device manager then uninstalling the unkniwn usb item. then unplug the device and then install the drivers and plug it back in. I had problems with v3 of the drivers in v3, but v4 in vista have been great. good luck!
after 2 years of trackIR4pro my customer experience is that is it awesome for flying and I couldnt do without it any more. For shooters is great to look around and feel inside the game. It gets more difficult to shoot accurately. In racing games it feels much more real in cockpit view, but it needs time to get used to it and doesnt make you quicker. In tight corners is very useful, but again, you need time and configuring the trackir to make it worth
Most probably I'm gonna get one as well (in Test Drive Unlimited it must be wonderful), but up till now in Operation Flashpoint (OpF) I've been using the mouse to look around while the gun was in fix position, and same thing in any chopper. OpF permits you to do this. Of course with TrackIR you can zoom in and out more fluently, and it's cooler. :)
The movement is multiplied on the screen. so 1 degree mocement of your head maybe 20 degree's on the game. so in reality you may only move your head 15 degree's to turn it 180 in game. your eye's will stay on whatever your concentration is on.
I heard about track IR via the ArmA website but never really taken much notice but damn i was quite happy until now lol going to save up i think and treat myself, cool vid m8 well done
lol funny head!

For the views outside of the cockpit can you do a 360 degree view? Meaning can you check your 6 while using outside of cockpit view?

The problem with ArmA is a compatibility problem. It's because the game developers haven't fixed it.
And you can max out pretty much everything on LockOn with an 8800. Awesome game btw.
