  • Good, except it was JEW business men - NOT WHITES.

  • A man who called him self the greatest president of all time, in his own book.

  • good points

  • it seems like this guys sources about the economy and wallstreet are the same sources he has about islam

  • with all the shit that goes on today, I mean no honesty, no itegrity, no remorse, and most importantly NO ACCOUNTABILITY, you might as well go out run all your credit cards up, get loans and default on them, steal and smoke crack, basically just say fuck it, and have a grand ole time. I mean why not, its not illegal to have a good fucking time and spend other peoples money is it?

  • So what it boils down to is this" Obama would of signed the bail out bill any how, He is doing it now with the banks. Free trade blamed on Bush The democrats are doing the same thing by turning a blind eye. So even if Bush refused to sign it Obama would of signed it any how. I remember Pelosi saying at the end of those hearings when she was asked why hardly any republican support she said we won and we are going to do it our way from here on out and She was telling the truth then and lying now

  • Amazing how everything has become Bush's fault" I watched those Senate hearings on that stimulus to bail out the Banks and the democrats are the ones who made that bill up with hardly any republican support and at the end of those hearings Pelosi & Reid stood together and said they were proud of that bill and that Her & Reid took full credit for that bill and was glad Bush was going to sign that bill Obama spoke openly asking Bush to sign that bill also

  • were is your video for obama's bailout?!?!

  • Look at the date of the posting. This is proof that the gov't started the bailouts before Obama took office. Smart people should clearly see that BOTH PARTIES don't give a fuck about the people. They only do what their corporate money masters tell them to do. WAKE UP AMERICA !!!!

    P.S.

I voted for Obama and I don't him any more than I trusted last bunch of war criminals that were in office.

  • OOPS!!! in the P.S. I meant to say (I voted for Obama and I don't TRUST him any more than I trusted the last bunch of war criminals that were in office.

Then, the first post I see is this maniac below screaming like a banchi. Nobody cares, well that is the problem nobody cares. If more people cared all this BS would not be happening.

  • i think people should just switch to Geico

  • i 2nd that

  • Davis your videos are excellent, I'm glad I find you.

  • Obama and McCain backed this move for good reasons. Without banks, you will lose your house, car, or what you owed to whichever person you bought it from. You wont have to deal with 1-5 pct int. You will simply lose everything. What is it going to be? Politicians don't always play politics. Sometimes they practice common sense and listen to others' concerns. As for Bush, he's so weak that he relied on Obama and McCain to rally the house. You wont need to impeach him. He's crippled atm.

  • US is one of the largest spenders on the world econ. What is worst is businesses are moving AWAY. They are scared for good reasons. An unpopular war. A divided Demo and Rep house. Many tidy business suits and too little worn shoes filled. Also gov spends unnecessarily the tax dollars. Raising taxes should is a temporary patch if necessary. Spend less but closing backs wont be the solution. The econ will be sluggish for at least a decade. Lets bring the troops home. We dont need revenge for 9/11.

  • This whole bailout thing is so ridiculously stupid. Tell me if any of this makes sense:

People can't afford their mortgages. So the government is going to buy their mortgages from them and re-adjust them so that they can afford to live in their houses. Now, the government is already up to its eyeballs in debt, but what's a little more, right? So the government, financed by us, is taking the debt from these people and distributing it across the ENTIRE COUNTRY.

  • Meanwhile, bad businesses are subsidized to stay afloat for no reason whatsoever! Can you feel the crunch coming? Do you see that the massive inflation of our money results in rewarding debtors and punishing people who save?

I think everyone should go get at least 5 new credit cards and max them out. You might as well enjoy the ride down, because your debt will be worthless when the dollar crashes, and saving up those useless pieces of paper is only going to leave you FLAT BROKE.

  • OH OH OHHHHHHH congress voted on it OHHHH so they must be right......shut the fuckup you prick this bailout won't solve anything.

  • You dont solve anything with violence. Your ideology is warped. No one knows if anything is right except when the problem is over and look at it from hindsight.

  • Hear hear.

You must get out credit, you must pay interest.

  • "Have faith, this economy is going to recover over time. I wish I could snap my fingers and make what happened stop. But that's not the way it works."

    George W. Bush October 7, 2008

  • hear, hear. :)

  • Why is it he's not impeached all ready? Yes, it's been "RAPE", over & over again. Why's everyone so apathetic? Mall shopping is their priority you say? I do believe I agree. WTF!?! Hope you wake some up, maybe enough 'em to make some real change! Love vids; keep up the work! Peace, e

  • this bailout will not solve the crisis......someone kill bush, just do it....

  • "market correction"

yes indeed, it has been corrected alrighty

  • he's right! this emergency bail-out or "rescue plan" is nothing more than Bush's Patriot Act for the economy.

  • My 401k bye bye hello Bills, now the 700B bailout we have pay for it later. you f@#king Bush...idiots, dumass f@$king george F#@king Bush......

  • If you're young enough and have a more than a few years before you retire, this market correction is a good thing, which many people do not understand. You are still putting the same amount of money into your 401(k) each week; however, the cost per share has dropped significantly. This allows you to purchase much more shares. Because the US economy is incredible resilient, when the market does appreciate, your retirement funds will grow exponentially.Enjoy participating in a free market economy.

  • President "Bobby": Mr. Gardner, do you agree with Ben, or do you think that we can stimulate growth through temporary incentives?

Chance the Gardener: As long as the roots are not severed, all is well. And all will be well in the garden.

    President "Bobby": In the garden.

Chance the Gardener: Yes. In the garden, growth has it seasons. First comes spring and summer, but then we have fall and winter. And then we get spring and summer again.

  • President "Bobby": Spring and summer.

    Chance the Gardener: Yes.

President "Bobby": Then fall and winter.

    Chance the Gardener: Yes.

Benjamin Rand: I think what our insightful young friend is saying is that we welcome the inevitable seasons of nature, but we're upset by the seasons of our economy.

Chance the Gardener: Yes! There will be growth in the spring!

    Benjamin Rand: Hmm!

    Chance the Gardener: Hmm!

  • President "Bobby": Hm. Well, Mr. Gardner, I must admit that is one of the most refreshing and optimistic statements I've heard in a very, very long time.

    [Benjamin Rand applauds]

President "Bobby": I admire your good, solid sense. That's precisely what we lack on Capitol Hill.

  • Yet you are STILL in other countries.....WHY. WHY. WHY.

If you brought them troops home, WHAMMO your' debt would clear up in NO time!

  • I agree.

  • the rest of TLC's Ain't Too Proud to Beg is "I ain't too proud to beg for something I call my own" - not belonging to taxpayers.

Lame duck president gets 850 billion.

  • There are some interesting articles about this idiotic bail out on David Duke's website.

So go visit his site if you dont want to be fooled anymore in the future.

    Wake Up!

  • And what does David Duke has to say about the bailout? He sounds like a racist nut on his web. Lots of finger pointing. No points made. No substance. No better plan to the bailout. So lets just fold your arms and let the market crash. Antigov. Antiwar. Anti-anything. Antisemite. Biggest pile of rotten, infested, dung on the internet.

  • While the bailout bill has been stuffed to the gills with tax breaks, one group not included in the list is nearly 800,000 laid-off U.S. workers. That's how many stand to run out of unemployment aid on Sunday if Congress fails to pass an emergency extension of jobless benefits this week.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), said yesterday that Senate Republicans had "balked" at an attempt to attach an unemployment-benefits extension to the Wall Street rescue.

  • Nice to know Bush prefers to let bankrupt enterprises fail. Just good hard-nosed conservative doctrine, really. It's made America what it is today.

  • Taxation Without Representation:

Hey, it worked for *King* George too!

    GO RON PAUL/ CHUCK BALDWIN '08 !!!!!

  • Do not be fooled. The $700 billion (ultimately $1 trillion or more) bailout is not predominantly for mortgages and homeowners. Instead, the bailout is for mortgage-backed securities. In fact, some versions of these instruments are imaginary derivatives. These claims overlap on the same types of mortgages. Many financial institutions wrote claims over the same mortgages, and these are the majority of claims that have "gone bad."

  • Funny how the very people that are responsible for this mess, are the ones trying to sell this bailout to the country.

  • Washington keeps telling us how hard they are working to write a bailout proposal. That the "people" will accept. When are they planing on letting the people decide to accept of refuse this bill?

  • Then you should have majored in political science. Washington didnt make the votes. Your local representative for congress voted. Who are the reps for your state. Call them to say no to the bailout.

  • davis you're on the money with this clip (and every other clip I've seen :)). I got mad love for your work and yes i have subscribed and rated.

  • 700B won't last two weeks. The problem is MUCH WORSE than you are being led to believe. This money will be the "going away present" for the political/financial elite.

  • TYX91101,

You are right. We are going to see that 700 billion disappear so fast, are heads are going to spin. Why are they not counting in the 25 billion they gave GM, and the 85 billion for AIG and the money for the two other banks.

This is Bush's "bailout" alright, he is bailing out the elites and then he will be running for Texas.

You watch, it will have no effect on the credit crunch!

  • haa this guy looks like the joker

  • excellent.

  • Let financial institutions fail, merge or be bought out. The faltering institutions will see their shares devalued and will be likely to be taken over by stronger institutions — as has already started happening. This consolidation of the financial sector is both efficient and inevitable; government action can only delay the adjustment.

    The government should not intervene.

  • deldelgary,

That is right, it is called Capitalism! There are banks that did not take part in all the risky deals and they will emerge the new banking giants. Because they practiced good business and wise investing.

  • Who would buy at the times of recessions? Everyone is looking to save their own skin. Sure someone will take over these banks but probably US banks. Britain and Japan dont want any part of it. They got enough to worry about. Likely the only thing that will happen without the bailout is that there will be a stop on loans and a stagnating economy while every country in the world will look elsewhere for business. Is THAT what you want?

  • What are you guys even arguing about? Stop bailing out failing companies. Allow the free market to run it's course. Stop manipulating the Fed Rate in an attempt to curb inflation.

Stop spending ridiculous amounts of money on foreign endeavors that aren't necessary (ie the Iraq war).

Don't fall for this "Bail out the rich guys" or we're all going to die fear mongering.

    NO WELFARE FOR THE RICH!

  • "I BELIEVE THAT COMPANIES THAT MAKE BAD DECISIONS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS" you heard it from the monkey's mouth.

So ... let's put that in a political context.

American shareholders, you voted for Mr No Brain Bush twice.

    You made bad decisions.

Of course Repubicans blame the Democrates but if Bush boy wasn't such a half brained monkey the Repubicans wouldn't have gotten such a kickin in the mid term elections.

I mean to be fair your CEO has made a litany of errors.

  • Politicians and diapers have one thing in common.

They need to be changed regularly and for the same reason.

  • YOUR ANALYSIS OF "AMERICANS TAKING TO THE STREETS" IGNORES THE LOS ANGELES RIOTS IN 1992. Although definitely not "civil" disobedience, and we can argue the justification/outcome/righteousness/etc it was probably one of the most recent times the government (ie popo in this case) truly feared the people...Though I'm sure many white people had a good amount of fear in them too.

  • AMEN conservative77 hit that nail right on the head these liberals are about s stoopid as a slug, they RAPE themselves and the rest of society , everything they touch turns to shat...

you liberals wanted to help the poor and low income own a home LMFAO this is hte mess you gave to AMERICA.....blame Bush LMFAO you dumbass idiots

  • WTF are you talking about, I am a liberal and I didn't decide on ANY loans for ANY of society. If we weren't sending all of our money to Israel there would be MORE THAN PLENTY to cover this debt, but you CONSERVATIVES are sending it all there. Tell me, since when are ISRAELIS; American CITIZENS and why do they get OUR TAX DOLLARS?

  • treason

  • yes.

    no.

    maybe,

  • bush has left america in total chaos!!! this is a divine vengence!!! yankees, vote obama, save what you can while you can. I am a moroccan analyst

  • You would at least think they would be smart enough having Bush back a bailout would be the surest way not to get the taxpayers to want to back it.

    Democrats & Republicans SUCK!

vote libertarian or independant the 2 party system has failed us.

  • "...the only way americans will take to the streets and and take their country back is if they can no longer afford to go to the mall."

    Sad but so true.

  • Don't vote Dem for youself... but rather, vote for your children... your children's children... your future children... b/c we are already screwed!!!

  • Are you kidding man? The democrat housing loan policy is what fcking got us here. So don't tell me to vote Dem when Dems are what got us here ok? Republicans aren't out of the woods too. But their a lot better than the Dems. It's sad that Washington changed the republicans. They aren;t conservative anymore.

  • Maybe people could go watch this video called: Go Viral: STOP THE BAILOUT OR.... DEPRESSION? by kdenninger and sign the petition. (There's a link on the side to a petition.)

  • Your right... so so right man! Keep up the message, don't stop! Talk to your friends about it!

  • Ralph Nader is a spoiler. Nothing more. It's Ralph Naders fault that we've had to live with Bush! Screw Ralph Nader TO THE WALL. Lord knows he has screwed us!

  • why does Bush care about anything he's already set it up to where he will still get money after hes out of office, with a share in the HDTV which he passed more money for him, and he has oil shares and lets face it gas prices want to bend us over. Seems like the market was fine until Bush came into office... and don't argue with me because I won't post to your comments because I am allowed my own freaking opinion...and have a nice day :)

  • Help me out if I did the math wrong, but I was horrified to calculate that 700,000,000,000. Could buy every average priced home(~$200,000)in Idaho, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, and New Mexico.

P.S. They found a CEO's corporate email from about 2 years ago saying he hoped they could all make a fortune before the house of cards fell. Does that afford a slap on the wrist or a hanging?

  • Bush's doublespeak. He's telling you exactly what the affects of this bailout will be. Start at 1:15. He knows exactly what he's doing

  • be scared be very scared, thats what bush just said. fuck you bush fascist fuck

    5 stars hermit!!!!!!

  • Well, the bailout was approved....

  • it's very easy to say that President fucked up ..but what else? ...is rest okay?

I am not taking sides, believe me I would be the last one to be on his side. Everyone knows what you just said. so..your talk is redundant.

  • Yes I agree that the presidents croonies are ... have taken the American people for a lethal and expensive ride.

  • he looks and sounds like a peach teddy bear,he's speaking to mid america,to old people.I think its his best speech. So let him spend another tril.

  • We must stop Obama at all costs.

    Obama is Elitist

    Obama is NWO

    Obama is Bilderberger

    Obama is CFR

    Obama is Trilateral Commission

    Obama is McDonalds Corporation

    Obama is Taco Bell

Obama is CIA, NFL, NBA, FBI, NSA, CBS, NHL, ABC, and the American Automobile Association.

Vote Nader in 2008. Nader is evolutionary and believes in the correctist things!

  • SailorWuvsPeanut -

    I wouldn't waste a vote on that idiot Nader. He's a nutjob.

  • It's nice to see that there are still americans with some critical view.

We the rest of the world ( brazilian in this case ) appretiate.

    Cheers

  • This is exactly why I rather put Bush on trial and give him the death sentence not impeachment.

  • "ass hat" VERY GOOD!! I am glad you stay in so I can go out. Problem is I'm going out less and learning more! Great show, great content, and GREAT PASSION.

  • I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country ... corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign ... until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed. - Abraham Lincoln

  • Take the pain that no bailout brings. You know Bush is lying, his lips are moving. The bailout is a grab for power and money for the fat cats, that Bush represents. He is going out and is making one last grab for his "base", the elite. The pain is unavoidable and will only be worse if the bailout is allowed. Vote against any Senator or Congressman who votes for the bailout. Fight back and don't suck it up, again.

  • go fuck yourself bush, and go fuck yourself bush. Eat some more cheeseburgers, wake up ....please.

i will refer you all to - George Carlin telling it like it is.

  • Looks like the Free Republic shills are over here in force pimping Nader so that he takes votes from Obama.

  • I don't know how much they'll accomplish pimping Nader here. The smart ones are putting Nader stuff all over college campuses right now, in swing States.

  • U may friend are a true American and revolutionary..

  • Why YOU don't get Federal "help" when you are losing your jobs, homes, buying power or health: YOU AREN"T OF THE RIGHT BLOODLINE!!!

Why the ULTRA wealthy get bailed out by the government with YOUR tax dollars: BECAUSE THEY ARE THE "BASE" AND SHOULD NOT BE INJURED BY TAKING RISKS. They MUST remain incredibly RICH or they simply wouldn't be happy.

So, what do you think of "welfare" now you STUPID low income NEOCONS and Religious Right MORONS!!??

  • All net great job davis.

  • Let them come down so we can pick them up again. The billionaires are trying cashout, let it drop and crash...

  • Damn skippy, brother. Let the bodies hit the floor.

    FAVORITED.

  • If I don't have a retirement account, does this bailout mean that my retirement is thus in the negative? Let the market come a tumblin' down.

  • bail me out, damnit!

    Let all come down,

But make sure it all comes down on the right people!!

    Peace and Respect

  • No uprising? I think you'll be surprised. Sit back and enjoy the show, because my work here is about to begin.

  • He scared us into war in Iraq, scared us into the PATRIOT ACT, and now he wants to scare us out of $700 BILLION dollars... why not just give that $700 BILLION as stimilus checks.

Okay i'm done here. I stick up for the right things not like most americans. So yeah bye

  • he punishment for making false statements or reports which overvalue an asset is stated in U.S. Code, Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 47, Section 1014:[24] Whoever knowingly makes any false statement or report, or willfully overvalues any land, property or security, for the purpose of influencing in any way...shall be fined not more than $1,000,000 or imprisoned not more than 30 years, or both.

  • mopsius - Do you ever stop harassing Davis's vids?

  • I know--- i think mopius is paid a salary to go onto blogs and harrass us here... it is ridicuolous! isn't it?

  • W a Trillion Taxpayer dollars-bigger than the Pentagon budget- presided over by their experts they will have the most power even if the Dem's get power because they will be so rich & we will be so broke. Of course, there will be plenty of jails to build & wars to fight.

  • One week later & no details on why this bail out would even work, no pie charts, no spread sheets? Why? Because for 2 years Wall Street has been plotting with their inside spy Paulson to get the whole Fascist takeover before Bush is gone betting that the Democrats couldn't resist a big spending bill and would react rather than think when Bush yelled CRISIS!

  • Won't work.

What might work is Kucinich's plan--buy mortgages at large discount from full term, establish nationaly mutual fund with every citizen getting $2600 worth of shares.'

  • With criminals in congress what do ya want Fleetwood?

    hAMBURGERS OR SQUILL WORMS!

HELLO ITS THE MICKEY MOUSE CLUB ALL OVER AGAIN!

    LIFE LINE LEGISLATION FLEETWOOD!

STOP JERKING OFF FOR THE DEM AND GOP!

    YOU WILL SWING WITH THEM!

  • If say only do a bailout with the following stipulations...

1)Increased regulations so this shit want happen for a third time in this country.

    2) A return to the tax payer of any profit made from the resell of these shitty securites.

    3) Some protection to the people who may lose their homes because of this shit.

    4) No CEO compensation can be used from this money.

If any of this is not included, then let the U.S. and World Economy die. Because thats what'll happen with no bailout.

  • Actually it is a wase of money. The US is tanking whichever way they go.

About the only thing that might work is Kucinch's plan.

Buy the equity at firesale prices and put it in a public mutual fund.

  • I love you Davis

  • Davis you should be a politician or even president lol. I think ur a fuckin great guy!

  • A must-see for anyone of legal voting age. 5 stars :-*

  • On one hand they say we should not abuse credit cards, consumer loans, etc. Then they say we need to free up credit so people can buy stuff. So which is it? They want to keep you in debt. Because in debt, you are a slave. Career, debt, own a home, all keep you hooked up to the matrix. Debt slaves, the whole lot of you.

  • In Russia even surfs had rights, which freedom without property cancelled, just the Russian "liberals" intended.

Similarly the British liberals freed the slaves for economic reasons, not because of any belief in human dignity and freedom

"Labor" at subsistence costs less than slaves.

They were openly making this argument.

  • "serfs"

  • I am Estonian. Mopsius, Soviets are why I was born in the USA. Stop being an apologist for those bitches. Please don't give me a lecture about Estonian Nazis, I've heard it so many times I want to puke! Most Estonians wanted to be left alone by both groups of totalitarian fucks occupying their country. Lots of Estonians won a free train ride to the gulags, and the Soviets tried to erase their culture.

BTW, I am talking Nazis and Soviets here, not Germans and Russians.

  • Estonia! Geez, the Lithuanians are all pagans and cannbibals by comparison.

Believe it or not I had close Latvian friend, who was in the US for the same reason. We played a lot of chess when I was very young. His whole family was taken off on trains, just disappeared.

I am not kidding you--when he played he used to dig tunnels, massive tunnel networks.

This is an eight year old.

  • I believe it, the thing about tunnels. sad. I am not scarred like that. My father was haunted tho.

  • PS: I am just messin with ya mopsius, I know you ain't being an apologist for totalitarians or gonaditarians, sounds like a lot of cause and effect stuff mixed with history, ideology and economics is what you're posting. Its amazing how labels like "Liberal" "Conservative" "Socialist", etc., can have so many different meanings depending on any particular time and place context.

  • "sounds like a lot of cause and effect stuff mixed with history, ideology and economics"

    Right on the nose, SAilorWuvsPeanut.

  • The British Liberals refused to recognized clear property rights in enclosure and convinced the landlords that the commons was their individual property to sell.

  • My motto is one Bastiat in every Socialist cell--or, more conservative, Ludwig Erhard's interventionism.

  • Soviet Communism was very peculiar do--it quickly became collective statism aimed at quick industrialization.

  • Fleetwood drops it like it's hot!

  • Our representatives don't care what we have to say. That should be obvious to everyone by now. I'm afraid our only hope is to try to appeal to and convince our law enforcement and armed forces personnel, through their family ties and personal friends, to understand our collective predicament, resist all unlawful or unjust orders of criminals in government, and help us restore America.

  • If ANYONE thinks all if this is not being done on purpose they are kidding themselves. These criminals are playing financial games. Problem - Reaction - Solution. Just like always. Anyone who falls for that shit and believes it is real most likely also buys the the official 911 story. They also buy season tickets for pro wrestling events - and lay big bets on the outcomes.

  • While I had some difficulty wading through this diatribe of anger, I think you seem to think we are bailing out these businesses so the rich can make some more money. Perhaps the Economist of this week put it best when they said that if this bailout does not occur, we will go into a depression. The rich are not at stake. You and I are the ones who will lose jobs. Our economy stands on those institutions. Our government bailed out banks when the Great Depression hit. That time has come again.

  • why don't they give the money to all the people defaulting on mortgages, debt consolidation loans, etc? Then, they will in turn give it to the banks so they don't get foreclosed on and their shit repossessed, and everybody will be happy? Too simple, hey? This is a fucking scam EmChez, The Economist is just a broadcasting organ for Capitalist Crooks Without Borders.

  • They do that because they are trying to produce wage slaves, the way the British Liberals produced a pool of "labor" by enclosure and such.

People who have to work for wages to eat.

The British did this in Tanzania when they took over from the Germans. They put in a small hut tax. Why?

It was so everyfamily in any "residence" (hut) needed money to pay the tax.

That produced labor for the plantations. They had to work to get money (which they were unfamiliar with) to pay the hut tax.

  • By the way, that is ultimately what Christian Libertarians like Paul are after--labor that has to work for money and if they can't is dependent on Christian Cahrity.

Paul is a Classic liberal in that sense, even if he fools himself and others well.

  • I am a classic liberal in the sense of the individual rights, although the property rights of individuals and other rights extended to corporations is ludicrous.

"Communism doesn't work because people like to own stuff." --Frank Zappa

"Under capitalism, man exploits man. Under Communism, it's just the opposite." - John Kenneth Galbraith.

  • The liberals as a economic class exploited the poor--enclosure was the liberal middle classes squeezing both the old landlords and the poor peasants.

Earlier American "liberalism" was different--had the liberty aspect without the systematic economic exploitation.

Mainly because of the new world.

But look what they did to blacks and Injuns who were not included.

So I don't diagree but that's political "liberalism" not economic liberalism.

    Marxism was also theoretically liberal.

  • Actually no one system works.

But it was exactly the middle and upper class "classic liberals" that produced the Bolsheviks.

    Same thing in Cuba.

The middel classes don;t know how to share.

Eventually they usually produce the people who overthrow them.

Waht is Cahzez doing? He's teaching the peasants to read, among other things. Can't have that.

  • mopsius: "The middel classes don;t know how to share."

But they leave nice tips for the waitress when they go out to eat, when they have some disposable income, and the succor mum gets a curl-up and dye done at a beatific salon. When they don't have disposable income, the restaurant closes eventually, and pretty soon, we're all eating Gaelic food at McDonald Corporation, which is almost as bad as the peasantless British cuisine, spotted dick being one exception to the unruliness.

  • People who share automotically advance to the only upper class worth being in--true human beings.

  • If you want a laugh, look up Bob Seger's song "UMC"

I am going to bed now, night mopsius.

  • To this day British "cuisine" still sucks because of the destruction of the peasants.

  • You bring up a vital point. This bailout is worth nothing if the govt ignores the people losing their homes. Former President Clinton made a very strong argument the other night, saying that a whole new business of helping families refinance their mortgages help keep thousands in their homes during the Great Depression. True, this bailout does not address that concern. However, we have to start somewhere, and like it or not, these businesses keep the economy's backbone from collapsing.

  • News for you--the US is already in a depression, bailout or no bailout.

The bailout is the save the rich.

    No other purpose.

That is why Beneanke lowered interest rates initially when subprime busted.

You are afool or one of the incompetent greedy fucks who produced the problem and now wants corporate welfare.

  • The US is not yet in a depression. In fact, we haven't even hit recession. The definition of recession is two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth. We are still positive.

The bailout is to save everyone. The rich benefit because it's capitalism, and I don't like it any more than you do, but the only alternative is communism, which I don't think America wants.

And btw, please don't call me a greedy fuck. I'm a college student. I'm worried I won't have enough money to complete my education.

  • The Us has been in recession for three years. The US is now in a depression. I know the definitions you are using. I also know that the figures they are based on are doctored. The real unemployment rate, for example, is %15.

Believe what you want to believe. You don;t know what you are talking about.

  • EmChez: Actually, the 2 consecutive quarters of negative GDP is just the media's definition. Regardless, the govt determined our growth by factoring in only 2% inflation when it's actually closer to 12%. Using the correct figure, we've been in a recession for more than 2 years.

  • Great as always Hermit!

  • Oh! how things have changed. To lift americans up during the great depression, after financial institutions took a dive, FDR created the WPA program that put millions of people to work. Today, we bail out a few rich giants with gargantuan sums of money and fuck the rest of us. In just eighty years, america has become it's own worst enemy and the corporate crooks run the country. Don't worry, though, the Dems are going to throw us a bone--from our own leg!
