Wild blue is the second one but it's real speeds are .5mbps instead of 1.5mbps down and .50kbps up instead of 256kbps so I don't get what I pay for 80 dollars... :(
What a joke, Japan's Kizuna satellite 155mbps down & 6mbps up.
"Kizuna, launched by the Japanese space agency JAXA in February, will deliver to remote areas of Japan and Southeast Asia the fastest satellite Internet connections ever—up to 1.2 gigabits per second, or 500 times the average American consumer connection. Unlike previous satellites, Kizuna is powerful enough to supply industrial-speed signals to small, inexpensive antennas on the ground. "
What a gigantic ripoff!!!! Existing customers will still get only one and a half mbps. Game players will hate the 1 second ping time. If they want more customers, they'll have to increase the basic data rate, which is one step above dial-up. Even tethering a cell phone is faster. They know there is a market for the poor country people who won't ever be able to get true hi-speed internet. Thats why this ad is on RFD. Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!
@JOHNNYROT1 Um.. what? Existing customers will still be able to upgrade and even have some benefits of the new service without upgrading. You can't change the latency unless you use a lower orbit satellite.
And it will only be 1month into summer so I'll play wit my friends online for a good 1 1/2 months
