  • Lovely! I´m from the other side of the world (Argentina). Many years ago a downloaded (making a mistake) Blue Rodeo`s song "runaway train", but I was looking for another "runaway train" song, but after listening that song and then alI the discography I became Blue Rodeo and jim`s fan. Next november I`ll will flight to Canada for my honeymoon and I hope I can find a show available!

  • Enjoyed your rendition very much!!!!

  • Awesome! pretty nice

  • Jim Cuddy is just too adorable.

  • this is great, but does anyone have the clip/mp3 of the two of them performiong 5 days in may as a duet ?

  • Makes we realize how talented Ian and Sylvia were.

  • The harmony is very, very nice. Really great job.

  • Nice!

  • This is amazing!

They should do more stuff together [:

  • kso,

im in love with Blue Rodeo.

    & Jim Cuddy's Stellar.

    In every way.

So this song blows my mind on SO many levels.

    Love it

    :D

  • Jim Cuddy doing a cover! Yeah, why not! He's good here too!

  • Very very very Good!!!

    Claudio (Italy)

  • Really really nice. Loved it.

  • This is great fun to watch and hear. Thanks.

  • nice one!

  • Beautiful job!

  • you two are so beautiful and this song is so dam fantastic....I liove watching you two working together please keep up the good work..kisses and hugs

  • I love this! My favorite part is at 0:57 when he makes a little mistake on the guitar and they both laugh. It's really sweet!

  • He corected himself really good though lol

  • They harmonize really well together.

  • excellent!!

  • There WAS a version of this from the Juno's in the early 90's where the Skydiggers and Blue Rodeo blew the roof off with this song....Bob Wiseman was still in the band....This is good, but that was the best version I've ever heard of this song. I believe it was the night Ian and Sylvia were inducted into the Canadian Hall of Fame. CBC probably has it.

  • We Five has the best version ever, from the 1960s.

  • Freakin' amazing.

  • That's how pros do it. Flub the chords a bit as Jim did, and you keep right on going. NEVER STOP. Get through it and then do it again if you want to, but keep it going, as he did. Real pro.

  • Very nice - Thanks for this upload

  • I wanna see the posting of the version from the Juno's that featured The Skydiggers that was an allstar cast that rocked the tune. Now put that version out and see how many new people discover it.

  • Thanks for your note!

Actually, Jim & Suzie weren't on the Junos with this song. Perhaps you are thinking of the Songwriter's Hall of Fame Induction where they sang it to induct Sylvia Tyson in the Hall of Fame.

Unfortunately we don't own that footage and aren't permitted to reair it. However, it was so wonderful, we asked them to recreate it in our studio lounge for your listening enjoyment.

    Thanks again!

  • this is cool, but I kept looking a the stove lol

  • woooooww.... well done.. love it...

    a refresh from the oldies..

    thx

  • It's great how we continue to learn!!! I loved the We Five version because it was the only one I knew of. I had no idea Sylvia Tyson wrote it. The Chatham-Kent region should be proud. Not to mention Robertson Davies.

  • GREAT !!!!!!

  • Excellent!

  • That´s great!

  • Loving this, you guys are having so much fun singing together...Whoooooo!!!

  • He is so hot....

  • I dug this. Thanks!

  • the smiling is contagious!

  • I love, love love Jim Cuddy!

  • love the way their voices blend so well...beautiful!

  • One of my favorite 60's songs. I love the original touches that you two put in, especially the ending. Great job!

  • Who sings the original??

  • The original was written by Sylvia Tyson and sung by her duo Ian and Sylvia. The band We Five remade the song the next year (1965) and had the biggest hit with it, while also slightly modifying the lyrics. Since then, several bands have covered it, including The Bangles.

  • Thanks so much! :)

  • we 5

  • The original is good. This spirited cover, with a more spartan but superb blend of the two voices and guitar is even better, in my view.

  • Holy cow, I've been comparing everything from I&S to CSP to W5 and beyond. This is my favorite rendition, whaddya think of that? Just gr8.

  • I love these two people together..they make beautiful music!! I am loving this song!~

I could listen to it all day...:)

  • So cool. Two great artists, Cuddy and Oh Susanna, doing a huge Canadian classic: You Were on my Mind by Sylvia (Fricker) Tyson, half of one of Canada's greatest folk act, Ian and Sylvia. A big hit for the Wee Five. I was into the Beatles, Who, Stones at the time but I absolutely loved this song, both versions. Cuddy and Sue really do it justice. Both are such great singers and performers. 5 stars even if Cuddy grabbed the wrong chord a time or two. True professional...keep going. Excellent.

  • I don't know who either of you are, but you did a mighty good job with that song!

  • OK....Jim Cuddy is one of the two frontmen from "Blue Rodeo" An awsome Canadian band. Suzi Ungerlighter (not sure if I spelled that right) Goes by the stage name "Oh Susanna " Wonderful singer / songwriter. Check out her album "Johnstown" it's a few years old now but still send shivers up my spine.

  • I love Jim....goodness he is the man of my dreams!!

  • Join the club

  • You guys sound great together!! Wish I could sing and play like that!! Keep postin' stuff :)

  • Ohhhh...I love this! Jim looks hotter then ever in this video...wish it was me singing with him! HOT STUFF!!

  • Love it!!

  • haha can ya blame him?

  • This version brings a big smile to my face. Looks like they were having fun.....

  • Cant blame her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So do I!! He's freakin gorgeous!

  • They've given their version a very 2000s feel. No folkiness to it. How did they do that?

  • talent and awesomeness?

  • Yes. And not that folkiness is bad. I think the a cappella ending does it. And they don't let up on the tempo ever.

  • made my day!

  • Wow that was awesome!! Has he ever released that one or was that just for fun?

  • Beautiful. Thank you.

  • Wow you guy's are great! I really loved that!

  • What a great version of this song! Love it!

  • Beautiful! More REAL music! Bring it on!!! Jesse.

  • great simple song

  • wow that's awesome! where when was this?

i have to say, Jim is looking like he's 30 again there! ;-)

  • Awesome tune

  • I love this song and they do a great job on it

  • OK, My wife and I have been singing this song all day. Its a blast and they look like they are

having a blast. It would be great to see an entire set like this.

  • All this needs is a thin sounding Fender bass, crisp drums, and a couple, chimey twelve-string electrics.

  • Or maybe just an autoharp.

  • My new favorite song!

  • ya know what? its still some fecking good.

  • Great song. I'd love to sing with either of them.

  • i love this video

    i love this duo

susanna, it i learn to play the guitar, or at least how to carry a tune' would you consider marrying me?

At least long enough to sing this song with you. I don't know, or even care what a 'jim cuddy' is.

  • nice chemistry and harmonies..love it!

  • Damn! Canadiana at its finest. Oh Susanna is the bomb.

  • this is great

it is the proper way to sing it, the way sylvia wrote it. God bless you.

  • Well, but it's not the way Sylvia wrote it, but the way that the We Five performed it, at least as far as the melody and arrangement goes. Check out the recently posted video of Sylvia & Ian from their reunion, where Sylvia finally sings the lead melody & Ian sings harmony (her original harmony line forms the basis for the We Five lead).

  • Jim Cuddy is a Canadian treasure.

  • A friend of mine was touring the CBC in Vancouver and when he went to the washroom Jim Cuddy was in there cleaning his cowboy boots. He is the real deal. Oh Susanna rocks!

  • yea... this is unreal, got any more of jim's videos? he's an absolute beauty

  • Great version of a great song!

Sylvia's original lyrics and the We Five's bounce.

    Thanks for posting.
