yea but something has to generate the electricity, renewable power could do it but at the moment they would probably use power from the mains which is generated from fuels such as coal.

it takes energy to compress air but the amount of energy to compress air compared to the amount of energy petrol powered cars use is alot less. We're still going to be needing to generate energy but just alot less.
