The balaenoptera bonaerensis for all science knows could be endangered and no Japanese study has shown otherwise. In fact in the late 80s the scientific community thought that maybe Japan would aid them in their pursuit of ocean research. But they soon found out they published material that did a disservice to anyone who could read them..

Now for the balaenoptera physalus it is endangered and if currently whaling keeps up... could go to critical status.
