  • IS IT ME OR THOSE THE SOCOND GUY SOUND EXACTLY LIKE PHIFE DAWN FROM ATCQ?HAHA..EXACTLY!

  • my shit. i love it. so dope.

  • the remix is MUCH, MUUUCH better.

  • F-R-E-S-H!!

  • This beats sounds so "Lords of The undergroundish"

  • @goldentrophy Just realized Marley Marl did this beat so that explains it.

  • @goldentrophy K-Def did their beats he was in Marley's camp

  • @Jahbril30 who told you that? k-def himself said marley marl did this one. this track wasn't even featured on the Lost Tapes release of their shelved album which Marley Marl produced tracks were missing. That proves that k-def doesn't have this one or any Marley Marl produced track of their album in his crates.

  • @obilinx1 i got the 12" -- says produced by marley marl

  • @djcarlito but if kdef was the actual creator, then big respect to him.. either way, the beat is dope

  • @obilinx1 And what sucks is, Marley won't release the tracks he produced on WR's self titled album.

  • Do you know how long I have been searching for this video and song. NJ stand up! I miss the fucking 90's. I was in the 10th grade when this came out. Shit brings back memories!

  • So listen to the beat and take the ride!

  • hahaha that dude LOOKS like Erick Sermon but SOUNDS like Phife Dawg

  • Like real Hip Hop - MTV dont exist anymore, only fukking commercialized reality mainstream bull shit.

  • @DUD3MAN3 yes Dudemane this is song is SO FIRE

  • Kdef had that 90s north new jersey sound...a legend behind the wheels and beats.

Marley didn´t make this beat, you can clearly hear a simular beat as "tic toc" by the lords of the underground.

  • @defcreator this is marley prod. tic toc is marley prod too!!!!

  • is there any where I can download this song!!!.

  • old school trop stylé

  • fuckin CLASSIC, can instantly listen to this shit whole day long..

  • KDEF ON PRODUCTION.

  • @waitingformusic Thought it was Marley on prod?

  • @minhasc - TECHNICALLY IT IS SINCE THEY ALL WORKED FOR HOUSE OF HITS. BUT ITS CLEAR THAT MARLEY DIDNT COME UP WITH HALF OF THEM BANGERS!

THE MAJORITY OF THE Lords Of The Underground STUFF WAS produced by KDEF TOO. MARLEY JUST BOUGHT HIS BEATTAPE AND PUT HIS NAME ON IT!!! THIS IS WAY BEFORE PUFFY AND BEYONCE GETTING PRODUCTION CREDITS LOL.. PEACE TO KDEF!!!!!!!

  • @minhasc prod by marley!!! k-def did the remix

  • they need to leak their album since it never was released

  • Pure and classic Hip Hop.

  • Wow! incredible and intelligent lyrics-He basically said you cannot see God-"as he is mystical as light never ever had a physical" a statemet that holds true. Big shout to the 90's rappers son-word life.......

  • This video use to be on along with JR Swinga back on video vibrations on BET back in the day in '94. LOL I remember this shit!!

  • the vibe which is impressed thru this song makes me feeling very very good......unbelievable respect

  • Thanks for the reply. Its good to know that at least YOU care.

  • I think Buckshot was pissed because they jacked his " come follow me" phrase. If you listen close it's not even Bucks voice. Years later on the remake of I Ain't No Joke,Buck vents how people sampled his records but then fell off.

  • @djspair I just heard about that in a interview Seven Shawn(first verse) did with Dope FM(a radio show/podcast out of Hamilton Ontario Canada). Buck was pissed and Sev was flattered but World Renown never really fell-off cause they never really took-off. Warner dropped them round' the same time they dropped their 2nd single "How Nice I Am". And I thought WB Records was on a roll when they had WR and Bush Babees, really dropped the ball on that one. Check the interview still.

  • @mrblondnyc HAHAHAHA! XD That's some funny $#IT yo! Keenan & Kel yo! LMAO!!!!!

  • 15 years later this is still one of my favorite songs!!!!!

    -Stoicone!

  • Had a bad trip on some laced shit. This song was one of the first to help me on my road to recovery. Some dark days during that time.

  • wow..one 12" i never owned..i always where the "come take a ride" sample came from, they used it on a real old bits n pieces record..this slipped by me..i remember it but wow..

  • yo.....da 90s...nuff said!

  • The second Emcee reminds me of Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest.

  • Yeah they got the same flow

  • damn i remember this from bet rap city top 50 on saturdays.

  • "thats why i didnt have to claim to kill to get a deal", haha, this nigga real as fuck. glad i found this, thankyou for uploadin.

    myspace(dot)com/olschoolhiphop

  • You are on a distinguished path.

  • its sad that "real" rappers like this are reapping the benifits of hip hop with platinum plaques and finacial success. but real recognize real 13,000 hits is good!

  • Funny that you said that you trusted the source!! i felt the same way, back then..they were very dope at know good hip hop!!!

now, i really cant buy shit, cuz i dont trust it!!!

  • Man that Source Review from 13 years back is right between reviews for Jemini the Gifted One "Scars And Pains" and Channel Live "Station Identification", damn those were the days. The Source was also the mag that I trusted back then.

  • Man this is some serious digg'in right here wooooo....

    -StoicOne!

  • World Renown are so dope!!! Does anyone know where i can buy World Renown's album from? I've been looking for so long!, but i still haven't found anything. It's like they've never existed, i can't find their music anywhere!!! I really want this song!!.

  • Check out K-Defs myspace page. One of his blog entries indicated the record will be released June 17th. It's even got the review from the Source.

  • Thanks a lot brother!, im gonna most DEFINATELY check that out! Much love.

  • Really?!?!? I remember trying to check for an album but it was never released though reviewed. I remember there was a rumor going around that 1 of the cats was related to Q-Tip.

  • In an interview, World Renown said they would seriously consider releasing the record if enough people wanted it on their Myspace page. My advice is request to be their friend and keep telling them your checking for it and eventually they may break down and release the lost tapes. The release date isn't solid but our best bet is to keep pushin'.

  • No, John Doe aka Johnny OneEye aka Fat Jesus is cousins wit' Marley Marl. Seven Shawn did a solo album early 2007 and Johnny OneEye has a mixtape album coming out this year. The World Renown Lost Tapes album has been available for almost a year on WR's and K Def's MySpaces. They called it Lost Tapes instead of self titled cause there are 4 tracks missing from the original including this one^(has the remix instead). Still worth it.

  • It doesn't; it was never released.

  • It was just recently released after the long wait this album got held back from release back when it was due to come out.

  • What the F**K ever happened to World Reknown?!?!?!?! I had their first and only single and never saw an album come out.

  • @Lrock79 They had 2 singles from that unreleased self titled album. "How Nice I Am" and "Come Take A Ride". Both members are doing solo projects. I heard a Seven Shawn joint last week on the dope fm podcast.

  • This when BET was dope. Now BET is a fake ass MTV. I feel sorry for the new generation. They'll never know true rap/hip hop or really music in general. Everything is about a quick dollar now. All these new artists suck. FUck the new BET.

  • DAMN! the good ole days. i wish that album would've gotten released. K-Def is a dope producer

  • this shit was phenominal when it dropped, the album was never released though, i was feenin for that

  • I remember seeing this very right along with "I shall proceed by the Roots when Rap City played tru Hip-Hop that had a voice, politcal science and intellectual stimulus for the brain!!

  • Dope joint!!!!!

  • This song is realy good ! New Hip Hop /Rap SUX !

  • Play and chill out

  • YOUNG FOLKS!!!! please, put down all the "50 and weezy", and bring this music BACK!!! this is what we used to bump. "kicking knowledge", "verbal skills", and so on. we even used a thing call "MUSIC" then!

  • This Clip will trensend beyond my lifespan and will still maintain that ill vibe, because it is straight up classic!

  • I love this song! What happened to the Rap Industry now? This is pure music......HIP HOP! I love their rappin style and the keyboards used in this song are great to the ear! Long live 90's Hip Hop/Rap and R&B.

  • much props

  • I remember seeing this video years ago when I was a youngin', and I couldn't for the life of me remember who did it. Good looking out. No idea they were down with Marley and K-Def. So many great hip-hop records in the 90's that never saw the light of day.

  • yeah yeah

  • good bless u hip hop seattle ive been looking for this song soo long that i started to think i was crazy and made the dammn song up myself much love 2 u.

  • haha

this is the proof you needed

  • JEWELZ!

  • I won't never understand why cats like these are slept-on despite fresh sound, great skills and dope beats, instead of the showbiz-addicted fools on today who sell bullshit and don't have nothing to say.

  • Yes i do not understand that also they go so much talent and the suckers like 50cent and more make milionss with shit tracks that never will touch one of these tracks.

    great post 5 stars.

  • When I have a chance to visit New York for once, Im going to rent me a old Jeep and go cruising around bumping some Classic Early-Mid 90's Hip Hop
