Nicely set mood, both visually and through writing. But you don't sound like a hard-boiled private dick. And you're not smoking.

So - Looks good, well written, but damned if you don't need to sound gruffer (and be smoking. Everyone in film noir smokes).

Still, I liked it a lot, so you got a good rating out of me.
