  • Fuck any1 sayin white people cant wear a do rag. I sometimes wear one when I feal like a fight, Wear that shit and first person that says anyfin BANG, "I'll do what ever the FUCK I wanna do!"

  • @domGster You'd get the same response wearing a dress.

  • I have to wear one in the boxing gym so my long hair doesn't fly everywhere and so sweat doesn't get in my eyes

  • LOL! Du-rags are worn in the military... You do realize a Du-rag can be used to keep sweat out your eyes and the sun off your neck?? Yea sure Hip-hop and Rap gave the Du-Rag a fashion statement... but I wear one to keep sweat out of my eyes and the sun off my neck... Special forces are know to wear Black Du-Rags to help blend in the night.... Specially by WHITE PEOPLE! Wearing a Du-Rag has nothing to do with your SKIN COLOR!!!! -.0 Be your self wear what you want..

  • I'm startin to wear a durag cause my hair wnt stay down and it can be for fasion statement also. It doesn't matter wat u are n wat race u is. Why can't we just be ppl. Just like hip hop is hip hop, it has NO color to it. like krs one said . "rap is wat we do, hip hop is how we live!"

  • hilarious!

  • lmfdao

  • I'm half white, half Hispanic, and I wear a durag. I wear it basically for the fashion statement, and there shouldn't be anything wrong with that. And all white, all black, all Asian people should be able to wear them too. It's a foot-long headpiece. What does race have to do with it?

  • Kaeson's got street cred

  • I'm white and I might start wearing a do rag cos I wake up in the morning and my hair is all over the damn place.

  • @ZappedFool me too dude, its crazy lookin' like rodents were playin' in my hair , ha ha ha

  • i'm white and i use a doo rag.?, some thinks that white are tryin to be gangsta with doo rags, answer -NO! meny white pople have it for fashion.

Blacks aint gangstas cus they wear a doo rag, and not white either!, have all of you forget what gangsta is?, Gangsta is pople who sell drugs, shoot people, do much criminal things to earn money.

Not to wear a doo rag or not.

    think like this:

It's like a black man can't wear Ecko Unltd clothes because a white man made the brand!

  • same with me.

just because i wear baggy clothes and a do rag they think that i'm a wigger or something.

i wear a do rag cause my hair is sticking up in the morning and i shower at night.

  • @supermanizgay yea me to. Where do you come from?

  • @BJ121996 thats right homey, i'm a filipino but i wear a do rag? the fuck with that "white man can't wear a du-rag" ..

  • I'm white but I wear a doo rag. well I guess that kinda cancels me out because I am a biker but still. if you're white dont act gangster unless you are gangster.

  • all yeah i white too

  • yo dude i wear a durag under my cap and im hot with it all da girils around me dog

  • im white and wear a do rag under my hat cause i like it i aint wearing it 4 any1 but me so who cares what any1 else thinks. thats like saying someone carnt wear a beenie or flat cap if you like it who gives a fuck what people think

  • hahahahahahaha

  • u know what m8??? u right there son.

us white bwoi'z need ta stick togetha on the du rag argument man :L

  • @slimtechn fuck off dickhead learn how ta read slang

  • lol you right tho, like half the black people i see be wearin durags and their hairs all rough n nappy n not wavey whatsoever n sometimes they even bald. i wear a durag tho for my waves tho

  • whatever you say malibu

  • dAmn nigga hes kinda in my postion yo cus im mixed but my hair aint nappy so i look puerto rican now im tryin to put in braids and now ima see how that goes down

  • WOW this video was funny. I'm keepin it real! Black guy just rolls his eyes, gets up and walks off. Doesn't say a damn thing. NOW THAT was funny. But my dad is a biker dude so he's always wearing leather biker rags so of course its for fasion. Like wearing a crooked hat. My hair is pretty long right now so I wouldn't be wearing one to do something with my hair. Thats what gel is for.

  • I'm wearing a du rag right now. But I'm inside my house. I feel kinda uncomfortable wearing one in the white and mexican mormon state of Utah. Only with my black friend would I feel comfortable wearing one in public. But I feel uncomfortable doing my hair differently too so who knows. I just think it looks cool.

  • black people wear them to protect their waves or braids. white people should only wear one if they have braids and they are trying to keep them neat, like paul from college hill

  • ...eminem...

  • I agree. To me they look kind of stupid on anybody, white, black or asian...

...but now that African-American hip-hop culture has become the mainstream, do-rags have become somewhat of a worldwide fashion statement, even here in Japan where I live.

It's not surprising though, as do all conformist trends, fashion often goes against all reasonable aesthetic values.

  • Durags aren't even a fashion statement. They were made, and continue to be used for, getting waves. Look at the black guy's hair at :21, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Durags are needed for that. That's the only reason why I wear it. You only have a few people who wear it as a fashion statement.

  • I have no problem with whites that wear dreds, cornrows, bones in their nose etc, but doo rags?!

  • Granted, dreadlocks do suit anybody with the right facial structure, but dreadlocks actually ARE a culturally Afro-Caribbean style, inextricably linked with Rastafarianism symbology (even though the Indian Shivaists also grow them).

It's kind of back-to-front to culturally monopolise do-rags, but to have no problem with other MORE traditional and culturally defining hairstyles.

  • Point taken however, white guys look kinda funny in doo rags.

  • The damn thing was invented in China anyway so neither blacks nor whites can lay down a monopoly on its use.

    well then

    that solves that

  • Invented? I don't know about that but even if it was, Blacks (freaked it,) and I never saw a Chinese person wear one even the Asian rappers.

  • You never see asian people wear it because in their culture wearing a do-rag in public is like walking around town in your pajamas or nightgown.

Do-rags in Asia are most popular among women who've had thermal reconditioning or Japanese yuko straightening. They were used by the Mongols while riding to prevent hair going in the eyes & altho' they were used in the US before the Second Indochina War, the current most popular design of do-rag in the US was imported from Vietnam during that conflict.

  • That's all good, but doo rags 'as we know them', is an African-American thing, I never said or meant that AA's invented them, we just freaked them, thus it is a Black thing and it has as you pointed out an actual function for us too as it did the Mongols, sorry but I still say that white guys look kinda silly in them when one knows why Blacks use them, that's all I am saying.

    Peace.

  • It looks silly on blacks too. It's just a generally silly item of clothing. We don't freak them at all. It's only because everyone's become used to seeing black people wearing them that they look vaguely normal now.

I guess that, just like with our weird 70's, 80's and 90's clothing, in a few years time people who wear do-rags in public will probably look back at old pictures and ask themselves "what on earth was I thinking?".

  • It looks silly on Blacks only to those that do not understand why Blacks do it, most whites have no clue what so ever, thus the criticism. So Doo Rags on Blacks are here to stay, whether whites understand or not; but apparently it has evolved into a more universal form of attire, so if that is the reason whites wear them, to keep up with Hip Hop culture fine, but it still looks kinda silly on them.

  • It is not the case that knowing something's function stops it looking silly. Most people know the function of curlers, but they still look silly when worn in public. Do a Google image search for "snoop dogg shower cap". The shower cap does indeed serve a purpose, but still looks ridiculous on him.

I have worn a do-rag on my head to create waves before I went to a wedding, but even though I am a black guy I would never have actually worn it TO the wedding (or anywhere public for that matter).

  • The damn thing was invented in China anyway so neither blacks nor whites can lay down a monopoly on its use.

Wearing a do-rag in public is as ridiculous as a woman wearing her curlers out on a trip to the supermarket. Black men (especially African-Americans) often wear one at night to preserve the wave pattern. Wearing it in the day looks makes you look a bit like a tramp/bum.

Nevertheless they've become very popular as a hip-hop fashion statement among people of all races in the US.

  • But it is still a Black thing.

  • ho gives a fuck ho`s gonna wear it

  • ha-ha sure whites can wear a do rag.thats like a black dude wanting to get in a tanning bed.dumb.but he said he wanted to be down.get a fitted ballcap then.

  • if only his dick was as big has his niggerlips amirite?

  • You just had to mention dicks. What a queer.

  • lol

  • i cant belive the brotha stuck around that long!

  • Eminem have many black fans, and none of them tell him he cant where a du rag. so whats the big problem whit other white peopel whering du rags?!

  • Whites don't understand why Blacks wear doo rags and stocking caps, it is for a purpose, it is NOT intended to be a fad for non Blacks, therefore whites look kinda silly wearing them, however, it is kinda like if a Black man goes to a tanning parlor to get a tan.

  • yh but its use has changed and become part of fashion ....

  • Comment removed

  • just because sum1 likes a certain way ov dressin duznt mean they want to change the colour of there skin ......

  • I guess.

  • well eminem sucks

  • We also could ask "can a black man wear trousers?", or something like that. What a stupid question.. Of course he can, where's the problem? Because he can't have waves? And do all the people who wear trousers ride a horse, activity for which trousers were particulary invented? Don't be racist, people, stop discriminating clothes..

  • cuz a du rag is worn with the purpose of getting waves, if you cant get em, why wear the hat?

  • @nataus any one can wear what ever they want but it's another thing if you look goofy ass fuck

  • "I grow it out." - "So grow it out without a durag." LOL

I an white (Turkish) and I wear a durag, too, BUT I don't look like a fool. LOL

  • hahahahahaha hilarious!

  • i know right :d

  • Yeahg ok it's a proven biological fact. Black men have curly hair and we only can get wave's. Any one else can but your going to have ot go to a very good hair stylest lest you wanna look like a " BUSTER "

  • no problem with white ppl wearing do rags look at eminem..

  • you´re right

    look at sido(german rapper)

he shows that on a visit at tv total->look at youtube:sido tv total

    and it looks cool

  • look at chuckie akenz asain rapper

  • @realbutthole123 Can a asian wear a du rag?????

  • @kevinlovecars

Of course, just look at umm.... damn

  • @realbutthole123 yo son eminem look CORNY ass hell with the du-rag hahahaha

  • I can see this as offensive for black people and white people

  • white people can wear durags its just dis guy makes it look bad for white people 2 wear dem

  • okaaay doesnt really makes sense, what about mexicans, they wear them and they have shaved heads and therefore cannot have waves. LOL!! and same with fuckin ricans, they wear them to!

  • .. I kinda find this racist.. white people can wear do-rags nothing wrong with that, Alex Wolff (of the Naked Brothers Band) wears one and you dont c ppl complaining.

  • i complain i say he's gay we only wear dorags for our hair like waves

  • I'd like to ask this. What do you mean when you say wave hair? Also a have read that doo rags are also used to flatten dreads. What does that mean?

  • waves are some as a hair style using a kind of brush to make wave like hair

  • IF it was ONLY for waves, then black men would take it off during the day when they don't need it. In the day their head is NOT rolling about in a pillow so the only other reason to wear it is for hip-hop fashion purposes.

  • True, but it still looks odd on a white person.

  • It looks odd on ANYONE!!!

Now, put a bandana or a hat on over it and cover/hide it completely then fine, but having a do-rag on and visible during the day is as bad as when Fergie (from Black Eyed Peas) wore curlers to her rehearsal. There was only one word to describe it: NO!!

  • Lol retarted..
