Durags aren't even a fashion statement. They were made, and continue to be used for, getting waves. Look at the black guy's hair at :21, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Granted, dreadlocks do suit anybody with the right facial structure, but dreadlocks actually ARE a culturally Afro-Caribbean style, inextricably linked with Rastafarianism symbology (even though the Indian Shivaists also grow them).

It's kind of back-to-front to culturally monopolise do-rags, but to have no problem with other MORE traditional and culturally defining hairstyles.
