this is not real flamenco. Also, it is just plain sloppy. Its just heavy metal "shredding" in a phrygian scale, which makes it sound spanish. You wanna hear real talent? Look to Paco DeLucia, Pepe Romero, Jorge Caballero, Manuel Barrueco. I'm sure this guy can find his way around an electric guitar, but he has no business pretending to be a flamenco "virtuoso".
@guitarclass35 I'd LOVE to see you attempt anything near this "sloppy" and "fake" flemenco piece.
Metal is played with a pick on an electric guitar, though you probably are too ignorant to even realize this. If you don't like it, then don't go out saying it's sloppy and fake, when I know full well only a select few people on this earth have enough will to practice this hard to play this beautiful music.
All those guitar players are very impressive, but music isn't made to be compared.
@BallerPimp3243 I don't know what to tell you man. You're just flat out wrong. Also,I happen to be one of those people that practices as hard as you say. This is me: bwaldron5
I'm wrong about music not being made to be compared?
I never said you weren't an aweesome player, I stated that you shouldn't bag on this one dude just because he plays a style you don't particularly like.
Music isn't made to be compared; it's made to be heard. To please different kinds of people with different tastes, which is why there's so many kinds of music out there.
Of course, I'm sure that you are too ignorant to even try to understand the beauty of differnt music.
yeah it takes passion but i mean he only plays one string at a time if you know what i mean. wheres the base and the melody? hes really good but music is more than plyaing insanly fast.
he's playing the melody. The bass is being played in the background music. Just because he's playing a classical guitar in a non-classical style, doesn't mean his musical ability or technicality are belittled.
have u heard of David Maslanka? he writes very unorthodox band music, and his melodies r usually extremely fast notes. similarly this guy plays extremely fast notes. just cuz the notes are super fast doesnt mean they arent a melody. And the bass is being played in the background as stated by zyzanftw.
As opposed to Paco, this guys has no duende, no heart. He plays like Malmsteen, a bit better than Malmsteen...but no sentiment, no warmth in his fingers or heart...try loving the music not the speed.
im not disagreeing, but maybe hes just so focused he doesnt "get into it" as other people. when some feel the music they dont move and just play with the passion they have inside....just sayin...
1:15 does anyone else notice that last note he plays with his pinky is just a little odd? Like, he goes higher in frets, but the note is obviously lower. Yet, he doesn't seem to be playing the next string down, either.
he is playing the next string down. look at his strumming hand and you can see him switch fingers to pick the 3rd string. hard to see but im thinking he barred his pinky across the fret to press both strings.
@DJReiko He is using his index finger to play the natural harmonics well his pinky and/or index finger pluck the string and the left hand is holding the position for the natural harmonics. hope that makes sense
@DJReiko Well spotted but this video is fakery and sped up so that might answer the mystery...Lawson Rollins doesn't posses a competent or particularly fast technique and the musical phrasing is lousy as always.
