  • very nice :)

  • I'ts too noisy for big city

  • Japanese trains are nice!

  • wow ,......that is bad ass.

  • 0:30 Monster snakes attack!!! :))

  • Japan is a wonderful country. The Shikansen and the entire Japanese Railway system is amazing. I really wish we had the ambition in the states to build and operate a rail network like that. I visited Japan and I enjoyed it very much.

  • I love Shinkansen! I wish we had high speed trains like these connecting our major cities here in America. Watching the bullet trains fly across the countryside is mesmerizing! I hope to visit Japan one day. Beautiful video.

  • I am from Japan and I dont think its the best or something but I think its quit good. I live in europe and they make fun of me becaus eI am Japanese but deep in my heart we invented much greater things and we are the future.

  • I love Japan, amazing country.

  • You do us a great honour.

  • I loved my holiday in Japan in April '06. I had a lovely return trip to Kyoto on the shinkansen 700 and I stayed one night at the Fujyia Hotel in Hakone travelling in the " Romancecar" train. Japan is a wonderful country.

  • I thank you for your kind words on my country.

  • Wonderful video and fabulous trains.

  • Nice very nice. I did a little bit of research and I can say that this is the Shinkansen 100 series of 1984-1991. Retired from Tokaido Shinkansen but still runs on the Sanyo Shinkansen to this present day.

Fabulous train. If only we had something like this here in the UK.

  • Today I heard that Mr.BONO of U2 like Shinkansen a lot.

    You look alike :-)

  • @ISO8 Ah right, I never knew Bono liked the train too. That is surprising. By the way sorry my comment came up twice.

  • and,100 series will be retired in near future.

Because N700 series new car's on stage ,500 series are trade for 100 series.

Actually some early groups of 100 series was scrapped.

  • @ISO8 Yeah. A shame really. This and the 0 series. The classic Bullet Trains.

  • @U2FAN1992

The Thatcherite regime has established the philosophy "the smaller the government, the better". It is too expensive to maintain the UK railway infrastructure just with private investments and some public fund needs to be injected. The fact of the matter is that both the public and private sectors won't. Even between London and Manchester, there isn't enough traffic. To Scotland is the same.

  • @Kenta19191919 Yes I completely agree. Our Goverment is...bad to put it mildly. And it's a shame that the UK will never see something like this be made...

I really want to visit Japan one day. My uncle did and he said it's a fabulous country.

  • @U2FAN1992

The British have a lot to be proud of. You still have the culture of caring about your sovereignty and dignity as a nation. Japan has lost all that. We have the piss taken out even by the North Koreans. Did you know that they kidnapped so many of our fellow countrymen and women and our government does nothing. I tell you what, Mrs Thatcher managing Japan - that would be ideal.

  • @Kenta19191919 Well I suppose that is true in some respects...quite frankly I'm not keen on the Koreans. Why they take the piss out of Japan is beyond me. And quite personally, while you may like the idea of Thatcher managing Japan, I would be worried about what she would do to your country. The UK is still recovering from her reign of terror.

It was only the other day I was reading about how the Koreans kidnapped some innocent Japanese people...some were returned, some were not.

  • @U2FAN1992

Mrs Thatcher perhaps had some wrong ideas. But she had conviction and determination to see her ideas through which translated into a vicious leadership. Our PMs have no determination, no conviction, no bottom and no backbones.

  • @Kenta19191919 I knew the Goverment of Japan had gone pear shaped in recent years...it's only now talking to you, a Japanese with a much better understanding of it all, that I realize how bad it must really be. And yeah Mrs Thatcher had the right approach which some people saw as vicious. But she had, like you said, the determination. Something that the Japanese PMs are lacking it would seem...

  • @U2FAN1992

People still have different opinions on the legacy of the Thatcher era. But there are two things which are massively clear. Britain is now firmly under the rule of law, not under trade unions. And, Britain could not go on for a day longer shortly before Mrs Thatcher came out. Yes, she made trade unions powerless. Some people detested it, but that is all she did and it was the right thing. What happened to Britain after that is not all due to her.

  • @Kenta19191919 Yeah...people tend to blame Mrs Thatcher for everything. Unfair in some ways.

  • @U2FAN1992

The most fabulous facility on the train was the Great Dining Hall on the 1st deck.

  • @Kenta19191919 And I had never heard of The Great Dining Hall on the train...I know you have the Green Car though. I think that's what it's called.

  • @U2FAN1992

Some of the 100-series deployed for "Hikari" services had 4 double-decker carriages -three 1st class carriages or the Green Cars and a dining carriage. The ground floor was all dedicated for a fully equipped kitchen and the first floor was fully dedicated for a dining area with decent tables and chairs. It had a whopping great digital velocity indicator often showing the speed of the train at 230 km/h which was still a novelty those days.

  • @Kenta19191919 Oh yes I have noticed that back then they used to have the double decker carriages. Never knew it was that well kitted out. Impressive for 1984-'85. But then as new trains came along they stopped that feature...

  • @U2FAN1992

Like most trains in Britain are now electric as opposed to steam engines. People only care about the speed these days. Sad but true.

  • @Kenta19191919 Yeah. People are too impatient nowadays. Try and suggest to someone here in the UK to travel on a steam locomotive rather than the Intercity 125...they would laugh themselves silly. Shame really.

  • @U2FAN1992

What about putting them on the Mallard? Just as fast as the Intercity 125 on average. Well, Britain as a nation has chosen to go auto rather than rail. M1 was built to serve the civil servants and MPs who went to Oxford.

  • @Kenta19191919 I am embarrassed to admit I have never heard of the Mallard train...but Britain has too many cars on the roads. This is why all of our roads are screwed up and why half of the people who die in the UK die in road accidents. And some of the drivers nowadays are awful...

  • @U2FAN1992

It was the fastest steam engine ever. The Mallard ran just as fast as the first Japanese bullet, well, almost.

  • @ Kenta19191919 I never knew that...impressive.
