I've heard it said that some of the first nation people gave up their own skins to enter into white skins, so that they could teach the white people how to be human...it has so far been my experience that white people cannot learn so easily. I desire to come home...but I feel lost. Home is not there anymore...
People may look at me and say "you are a white woman", because they only see with their physical eyes, but I tell you "Mitakuye Oyasin, Namaste, We are one in the Spirit" for these are the truth. My spirit has no color, race, or sexuality. If we, as a human race, would recognize that we are all related, we would never have done or do these things. I am a white woman but only by skin color. I am part Iroquois Indian but because my father denied me i was left out of my hertiage. I do agree that the white people as a race took lands that did not belong to them and then when the Native American had to deal with the land that the government gave to them, they still had land taken because of the natural sources that was beneath the soil. One of my son's is Kiowa and I am proud of him to the core as I am my other three sons.

Scientists managed to take DNA samples of the remains and carbon dated them before the Native American tribes demanded they be handed over, The scientists were astonished when the results came back- THE DNA was European and thousands of years older than the earliest 'Native' remains found. The U.S Government is involved in covering up these findings.

Not just governments, unfortunately. The settlers, gold prospectors, etc., all wanted the Native Peoples pushed off the land, and even today there is resentment because of fishing and hunting rights. I love the Natives. They have gentle soul and strong spirit at the same time. I have been on their reservations in Alberta Canada. Why dont they have a sustainable life like farming so they can grow their own food ? Instead of depending on what food the govt gives them?

@2012weareone I need to correct u in one aspect, though. In the mid- 18th century the British King tried to preserve Native American lands by enabling the Proclamation Line which forbade colonists to settle past the Appalachian Mountains. However, the greedy American Colonists disobeyed this law and illegally settled in Central America. This was partially the cause of the American Revolution, too. But yes, it was the American Government that butchered the rest of the Native Americans.
The people took it, not the government. Slaves were traded by the government in triangle trade, but the PEOPLE enslaved them. People always have a chance to stand up to their government, they are just too cowardly to do so.

This video was beautiful and it made tears form in my eyes. I don't know if I have any native blood, but even if I find out that I don't I want to help preserve the heritage. Watching this video made me realize how horrible the white man really were and it shames me because I know that my ancestors were (or I believe were) involved in what happened.

She married a good White man, my great grandfather, Phillip Blackwell; they had a daughter, my grandmother, who married the son of an ex-slave (a Black man). She and her daughter were made to feel that being anything was better than being a Native American. It was not Black people that made Native Americans feel inferior; some Indians owned Black slaves.

I have just watched this, and my eyes are filled with tears, I wanted to turn it off but I watched till the end. I am a white woman but only by skin color. I am part Iroquois Indian but because my father denied me i was left out of my hertiage. I do agree that the white people as a race took lands that did not belong to them and then when the Native American had to deal with the land that the government gave to them, they still had land taken because of the natural sources that was beneath the soil. One of my son's is Kiowa and I am proud of him to the core as I am my other three sons.

so many of the immigrants that settled on the indian lands were not sympathetic to the tribes. strange ? as those immigrants had their lands taken by the wealthy in their home countries and cast adrift. our white ancestors were flawed and did not really care about the native peoples. whites were obsessed with property ownership. we divided the lands of GOD that were given to others for thousands of years. broke it up in little squares that we resell and resell and pretend that its ours.

@2012weareone I need to correct u in one aspect, though. In the mid- 18th century the British King tried to preserve Native American lands by enabling the Proclamation Line which forbade colonists to settle past the Appalachian Mountains. However, the greedy American Colonists disobeyed this law and illegally settled in Central America. This was partially the cause of the American Revolution, too. But yes, it was the American Government that butchered the rest of the Native Americans.

This video was beautiful and it made tears form in my eyes. I don't know if I have any native blood, but even if I find out that I don't I want to help preserve the heritage. Watching this video made me realize how horrible the white man really were and it shames me because I know that my ancestors were (or I believe were) involved in what happened.

She married a good White man, my great grandfather, Phillip Blackwell; they had a daughter, my grandmother, who married the son of an ex-slave (a Black man). She and her daughter were made to feel that being anything was better than being a Native American. It was not Black people that made Native Americans feel inferior; some Indians owned Black slaves.
