I was really surprised when i discovered these guys to find that it was more like the old style of black metal rather than what all the 'mainstream' black metal artists have turned into. There's a pattern, just about all good black metal bands start to go sour after 2000+ in my opinion. It happened to Dimmu, Cradle, Immortal, who else...

They've wrote some of the most epic and mood invoking music I've, and many others have ever heard, Dani Filth has 3 masters degrees in English and he writes - incredible - lyrics. And I don't think there are bands that are nearly as learned in the Gothic Culture as they are.

What's symphonic about Cradle of Shit? They aren't even a black metal band for that matter. Just because a band dresses up in face paint and wears pentagrams doesn't mean they are a black metal band. Especially not on their latest release. They are "Extreme metal". I think Bishop Of Hexen is more creative than Cradle of Shit.
