@Xx69roadrunnerxX Chill out man i was just having fun?!?! It saves qear and tear on the clutch and associated parts its really not bad for it. What youre doing is making the input and counter shaft speed the same sothe gears mesh easier, and it saves the synchronizers since they dont have to do the work of slowing things down. Potential smotential the trans has 360k miles on it now its a joke that its ever gonna blow, would have done it by now trust me. My dad and i thrash on it.....
@91CTD Damn internet... I didnt mean that to come across like I was scolding you or trashing the idea.
I was just curious as to why you werent using the clutch here. Its your truck, you can drive it however you want. I was just curios more than anything :)
Is it easy to do? Do you see yourself doing this all the time daily drivng or just hear and there? Thanks!
I actually do it quite often around town when i don't feel like pushing the clutch. Or when i want to impress a passenger. I will have him/her take a video of me doing it
75% of big truckers don't use the clutch i guarantee you those shifts you hear them doing pullingaway from a stop light are most of the time clutchless.
Same idea here. you get everything in the trans to the same speeds as your input and it'll all just glide right in.........
@91CTD No worries man! The internet is built to screw up communications, lol! I should have add some smiles to my post comment or something.
Sounds sweet! I wish I had a manual in one of my trucks....next one will have a manual. Maybe ill do a fully manual valvebody in my '97's 47RE and a ratchet shifter.
how is that good 4 the trans??

Love it, guys with manuals get sick of the clutch pedal and guys with autos miss the clutch pedal, lol!
Why not use the clutch? Seems like this is inviting uneccesary wear and potential failure down the road no?
