This BOV is designed by Active Autowerke to go with the rest of the upgrades. It's a tuning companie's way of getting more pressure in the turbo without breaking it, not for it to sound like a ricer. Maybe if somebody buys one specifically for the sound, then there's a reason to complain, but that's not about the car or performance.
First of all ladies, my comment was 9 months ago. Thanks for catching up.
AND
I stand by my: "Way to destroy a once nice car."
1. Exhaust post turbo means very little... DO some reading when you get home from Junior High tonight.
2. Loud Atmospheric BOVs are a fucking pathetic joke on a BMW. There's NO quicker way to identify yourself as a low rent, outta the ghetto, ricer douche, than putting a loud BOV on an N54. You're advertising to the world, that you have no clue.
Betcha that dump can be made into a recirculating one.
Exhaust post turbo sure mean ALOT once you crank up the hp's , ever wondered why professionals use a seperate exhaust / wg pipe and not just a "downpipe" ?
Because of the backpressure of having the wg opening into the exhaust (which slows down the turbo)
everyone is right, yes it helps the motor breathe better...alot better. but thanks to all the fools trying to make a civic look and sound like a bmw-esque car it kind of eliminates the appeal to potential owners
maybe if you understood the intent of the BOV - you wouldn't be saying ricer. THe PSI build up is relieved from the engine using a BOV - thus lessening the stress to the turbos...
Why not go do some research before spitting out garbage?

I'm not gonna install a bov on my 335i. I sort of agree with you.
