battlefield earth would have been the type of movie Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson would have torn to shreds with the bots on the Satellite of Love if it was adapted into a film in the 1950s or 1960s, but since it had a big budget and 21st century special effects, the primitive plot juxtaposed with the modern production made it doubly awful.
