Dark Night: Six Flags Great Adventure

This ride was scary in a bad way. It was supposed to appeal to families but it is more jarring and dangerous than the big coasters at 6Flgs. Young ones could easily be traumatized by this ride, it whips you around very tight corners in the dark. ouch!

@alvrod2006 That was a big mistake. Six Flags Great Adventure went downhill. Kingda Ka always has problems, the scream machine was taken down, that flash pass really screwed paying customers over and the lines are slow as hell. They purposely take their sweet time getting the cars ready in order to make people buy that stupid pass. In Disney, the pass is free. Screw six flags Great Adventure. I'm done with that park.

The ride is complete with 6 turns and 2 drops... The ride is a total of 1:50 seconds being that it goes so damn slow. This video shows the same two drops over... and over... and over... and over again. They shouldn't have hyped this ride so much, because now, people are really dissing them off for this ride.

This is more of a family ride. You can't fit a 200+ ft. drop into a small box.For all you thrill-seekers go ride something else because you can't fit Raging Bull or Kingda ka inot a small area...it's just plain impossible.

i went to the one in gurnee, il.. in case they differ in other 6 flags..

it was basically like a haunted house. except not even scary. there are no loops or anything and its indoors [obviously]. it only lasts about one minute which sucked hard. it was pretty much a slightly intensified kiddie ride :P

this ride sucks balls. I wated for one hour(even though I cut in line) and there was a five miute video and a 2 minute kiddie ride that you had to be like 54 inches to ride. When I was there for physics day, i told some kids i dont like that its awesome and that they should ride it.

For those of you who a defending this ride, just STOP! The Dark Knight didn't live up to all the hype put behind it! Spare me the family aspect of it. There are plenty of family rides at SFGA. I feel sorry for anyone who waited on line for this ride. It was not worth waiting at all. I hope others will read this comment and either get a flash pass or just skip this one all together.

The park is become better and better because it is starting to appeal to all groups of people. In the past couple of years, we have had five coasters. Some parks in the chain have had NOTHING for several years. And what hype? There was no hype, it was listed as a family attraction from the start... with a 42 inch height requirement, what did you expect? El Toro in a box? It's as simple as... avoid the ride. It's a freaking wild mouse! Research the ride before you wait in line for it.

You need to watch the Six Flags Official Dark Night Video and then you will see the hype I am talking about. The awesome theme added more hype. I was not expecting "El Toro in a box"... I am not an idiot. I have been on dark rides that had much more to offer (Flight of Fear). Also, no one knew that this was a wild mouse track ride. That info was not known until the ride opened. I didn't wait in line because I had a flash pass, but there was a VERY LONG LINE and I felt bad for people who did

I, and a lot other people knew it was a wild mouse from when the ride was announced. Six Flags released ride length, height, speed, and maker. Those stats matched those of an already existing wild mouse. They also released stats such as: Top speed of 30 mph and a 42 inch requirement. Does that not give any clues hinting that the ride would be tame and for families? Plus, do you think GADV is entitled to a kiddie coaster every eight years?

I saw it, but it was pretty clear that he was emphasizing that the ride was for families more than he did for thrill seekers. It's clearly based on opinion. I love Kingda Ka and El Toro, and I enjoyed the ride. I didn't love it, but I have chosen to defend this ride because it's targeted for children and families. I agree with you that hardcore thrill seekers should avoid the ride, but that does not mean you should trash the ride in general because it isn't your cup of tea.

My point is that this is a kiddie ride and most everyone who rode it on it's opening day was dissapointed. People (inclduing kids) were coming out of the ride booing! BOOING! I kid you not. It WAS billed as a family attraction, it just required a bit of research, I compared the stats to other creations made by the listed builer and I found a match to the Wild Mouse coasters. And don't tell me that kids were walking out booing, because anyone aged 10 and above are listed as thrill seekers. This is a family ride! It was listed with a moderate thrill rating! I seriously do not understand why you are bashing a kiddie ride, when it's for the kids and families.

Tons of people WERE BOOING! I thought that they were only kidding around as I walked in. But in reality, they were only trying to do what I am doing now, which is trying to let people know not to expect a great ride. Bottom line is that this ride is a dissapointment. Skull Mountain is a better ride and that is a lame ride too. Ricochet at King's Dominion in VA is a Wild Mouse Ride made by the same company and I loved it! By comparison, Dark Knight is mediocre.

Whatever you say, it's all opinion. I loved the Wild Mouse at Hershey, and although I'll have to say I enjoyed that more, I still love The Dark Knight because it's similar and shares similar thrill. Maybe if they add some more theme elements like the fake smoke it will be better. Or if they completely shut off all lights and add some more sound effects, The Dark Knight will be even greater. Plus, they could add some more theme near the end of the ride where it lacks theme.

The official press release listed it as, "Custom Wild Mouse Coaster with 6 180 degree hairpin turns." and had it listed as manufactured by Mack Rides If you looked anywhere you could have seen it was a mouse ride the ride poster even shows a mouse track! I went in comparing it to any other mouse coaster i have rode, and I give it an A+ for that. If you were looking for a dive machine, you went to the wrong place.They accomplished exactly what they set out for: a fun great themed family ride.
