@CodyElford WoW is going to have GW 2 as a BIG competition, its silly to deny that. GW 2 has the potential to hammer WoW into the ground and leave no trace of it whatsoever. I've been a fan of warcraft for years, i never had the money to pay for its subscription fees, but i've read up about almost every major event (barring annual ones) like the gates of An'Qiraj, the zombie fest pre wrath, to the announcement of MoP. World of Warcraft has a bright future, but guildwars 2 could wipe that away.
@CodyElford Not to also mention that its not a subcription game, you pay thirty odd bucks and you get the rest of the game without paying any other fees whatso ever. BIG win over any MMORPG with subscriptions. On top of the fact that it allows the greatest amount of player customization with great lore and greater races, WoW is going to have to step up its game to remain in the competition after GW 2 comes out. True WoW has some of the best features yet still coming, but its still gonna get hurt
I been playing Final Fantasy 11 for 'bout 6 years now. I'd say it's better than WoW but thats just imo. It was pretty hard the first few years but now It's even better. though you have to pay a monthly fee for ff11. I'd say GW is pretty Damn good for a cheap game with no fee at all. Good Investment if your not a tight ass about what you play.
The game looks nice and smooth, i could see myself getting into this when my computer get's fixed. I can pick it up cheap in shops these days right? by the way for a new player would it be wise to buy the expansions right away?

Factions plays faster at the beginning, as the beginner's isle gets you all teh way to 15-20 depending on how much you focus on the quests. Overall, the challenge of factions is greater once you reach level 20, and the Alliance Battles for PVP are amazingly fun :) Also Factions has the Assassin and Ritualist professions, both of which were fun to play for me :)

it has a whole bunch of loading screens for the different areas you go to...and theres no world pvp.... only arenas...and you have to have a team to go to different areas, but if your in a city everyones there, but if you go to fight npc's then its only you and your party
Guild wars is just make more sense than WOW. I recommend this game more than wow any days. Game is free, graphic are nice, storyline are not too deep or too short, world is not too big to fly around and enjoy the world that they offer to us. Guild wars FTW, WOW for the loser!.

lol, those skills are nub skills, you should consider a different build, considering warriors only have 20 base energy, i dont beleive a 10 energy cost heal other is in the question, also bane signet is a smiting skill, when you already have points in healing. You are really killing your build. Just do Sever, gash, galrath, final thrust, healing breeze,ressurect, mending, and something else. When you do your second profession it is best to stick in one mastery.

well WOW (which i had a level 47 on so i tried most of everything)is good because of the general freedom to do whatever the hell you want, there are massive worlds and i dont know many more things (online) that are as fun as teaming up with loads of real epople and attacking the horde, on the other hand Guild Wars' distinct lack of online fees and similar gameplay type make it a winner in my opinion
Regardless of your other points raised, I must note that at lvl 47, you haven't tried "everything", anything before lvl 60 / 70 is merely the tutorial part, the actual game begins at 60/70
well i had a mount had been on a raid and got the gist of the game by then and i reckon the 60 levels cant really be the "tutorial" its more like level 1 to 10 is the tutorial part. try and name some stuff you cant really do at lvl 50(which i am now)
For example, you can't go on a raid. All you can do is 5 man instances, and the 5 man instances before 60/70 aren't really worth talking about (except for BRD maybe)
How many rep grinds are there before lvl 60/70? How many daily quests can you do before 60/70?
And never mind that you can't find any decent equipment before lvl 60. The real equipment grind starts when you've hit the level cap and your only form of progression is equipment, and to achieve that, ya need to grind rep, and raid

Considering at the end of march you can get this game and the first xpac for only 40 bucks, I'm somewhat tempted to buy this. I have the game , i played it some weeks when i was bored of wow. It looks a little like wow , pvp is not so grate i hate that when u exit a city u are in the area alone , not with other players so if u want too do a quest u need to find a grp befor exiting.
Yeah the build does suck, but judging by the location (Aurora Glades) I'm guessing this is a Tyrian char and actually playing the story line, since this is before tomes were available thus no elite skill and the build is probably just slapping w/e he/she can get together, from that perspective it ain't that bad.

Guild Wars has dedicated arenas for PvP, if that's what you mean. As far as I can tell, it's impossible to attack other players outside of them. There's no one-on-one, however - it's all team-based.
You also have the choice of using one of your regular characters or to create PvP-only characters. I hear the PvP-only characters are a bit weaker than characters who reached level 20 via questing. PvP-only characters do get access to all of the skills for that class combo, as far as I know.
Yep. The level cap is only 20, however, which you reach maybe halfway or two thirds through the original campaign ('Prophecies'). Though you can continue to get skill points and such after level 20, the game becomes mainly a matter of skill at that point.
well as far as ive saw its SHIT compared to wow... i mean the action bar has only 8 spells ...LOL...you should see the wow action bars, at least there you HAVE TO USE YOUR BRAIN ...the areas are alot more smaller than wow ... the graphicks ROCKS i must admit :D ... and its to easy to play :))
You have to use your brain when you huge skill bars? In Guild Wars the low level cap and skill bar allowance force you to equip skills with the best synergy and to rely on your own skill, instead of a massive level gap.

For example, you can't go on a raid. All you can do is 5 man instances, and the 5 man instances before 60/70 aren't really worth talking about (except for BRD maybe)
How many rep grinds are there before lvl 60/70? How many daily quests can you do before 60/70?
And never mind that you can't find any decent equipment before lvl 60. The real equipment grind starts when you've hit the level cap and your only form of progression is equipment, and to achieve that, ya need to grind rep, and raid

For about half the stuff in BC, you actually need a flying mount, which you can't get before lvl 70 in the first place.
Just trust me: The actual game starts only after you've hit the lvl cap.

Considering at the end of march you can get this game and the first xpac for only 40 bucks, I'm somewhat tempted to buy this. I personally am REALLY sick of wow, so a game that's similar but free would be really nice. :P Also, I heard the PvP in this game is better then WoW (Not like that'd be a hard thing to do) Can anyone tell me if it is?

I have the game , i played it some weeks when i was bored of wow. It looks a little like wow , pvp is not so grate i hate that when u exit a city u are in the area alone , not with other players so if u want too do a quest u need to find a grp befor exiting.

Yeah the build does suck, but judging by the location (Aurora Glades) I'm guessing this is a Tyrian char and actually playing the story line, since this is before tomes were available thus no elite skill and the build is probably just slapping w/e he/she can get together, from that perspective it ain't that bad.

in some senses it is cause this is free to play better graphics and such but wow lasts a little longer but this game has more class options and such so its on preference i used to play wow and I'm thinking of getting this now cause of the prices.

I've got Guild Wars: Game of the Year Edition for X-Mas. I can't wait to play it; I've been researching online and stuff. I already have my class picked out. But, if you might of noticed, I haven't played it yet, as my computer - a stupid laptop - can't support it. In May, when we get Bush's money, we're getting a new computer. So yea, can't wait!
Two of my buddies already have it, so I'm looking forward to playing with them of course.

Guild Wars has dedicated arenas for PvP, if that's what you mean. As far as I can tell, it's impossible to attack other players outside of them. There's no one-on-one, however - it's all team-based.
You also have the choice of using one of your regular characters or to create PvP-only characters. I hear the PvP-only characters are a bit weaker than characters who reached level 20 via questing. PvP-only characters do get access to all of the skills for that class combo, as far as I know.

Yep. The level cap is only 20, however, which you reach maybe halfway or two thirds through the original campaign ('Prophecies'). Though you can continue to get skill points and such after level 20, the game becomes mainly a matter of skill at that point.

well as far as ive saw its SHIT compared to wow... i mean the action bar has only 8 spells ...LOL...you should see the wow action bars, at least there you HAVE TO USE YOUR BRAIN ...the areas are alot more smaller than wow ... the graphicks ROCKS i must admit :D ... and its to easy to play :))

You have to use your brain when you huge skill bars? In Guild Wars the low level cap and skill bar allowance force you to equip skills with the best synergy and to rely on your own skill, instead of a massive level gap.
