the substrate isnt ideal for a planted tank, it works but flourite or treated aquarium soil is best. also the surface agitation should be minimal to slow the release of co2. i just noticed your comment or another video only reason i said that. nice tank all the same
plants thrive with co2, using a bubbler puts oxygen into the water and stirs the surface. Its best to not agitate the water or add oxygen, your fish dont make neough Co2 to support the plants if your adding oxygen, and dont worry those real plants add more then enough oxygen to the water for the fish.
Co2 during the day, air at night although is not required. But helps the fish breath. You can buy a timer for that they have digital one on doctors foster and smith and I know they are way cheaper than fish stores check em' out.

is that an air bubbler or co2? you shouldnt have an air bubbler in a planted tank.
