  • Awesome Thodi.

Is it just me who feels that there is something funny going on with Vidwan Sivanandam's contact microphone (pickup)? Sounds quite weird the sound coming out of that pickup.

  • What an incredible video! A great scion of the Dikshitar school playing his majestic krithi in thodi, followed by Amba Neelambari composed by his father Thanjavur Ponniah Pillai. The madhyamakala passages are played with such azhutham that one can almost hear DK Pattamal singing them. How amazing would it be to hear them render mAyA atheetha swarUpini which the Tanjore Quartet composed as a tribute to their great teacher Muthuswamy Dikshitar?

  • It should not be too difficult for PODHIGAI to take the services of a knowledgeable person to write the names of atistes etc in correct Deva Nagari lipi, or else use only the English version (with some improvement there too). Just see how atrociously the names of the artistes like Sivananandan, Sarada and Ramabhadran are spelt in Devanagari.
