  • Backbone gone he can't do nothing..

  • LOVE THEM! They sound even better live. I saw them in an outdoor concert about 20 years ago. I was right in front near the speakers and got my ear blown out. Couldn't hear out of that ear for many months, but it was so worth it.

  • At around 2:38 the picking guitar just goes beserk all the way out, nice work.

  • Nice Video,.. Good,. Thanks,...

  • ear orgasm ! never thought i'd see the day when i would dance wit my desktop! .............WHO'D SHE COO?

  • Nice funky primal sound to it.. Bone funky.. Like a pruple dragon..

  • This was another bad roller skating jam in the 70's. They just dont (or cant) make music like this anymore!

  • I stand corrected, should have check my facts before posting. Still my all time favorite group.

  • Sad to her my Players ended up broke after making all that good music. They cut the "Fire" album in 9 days. These days it takes a so called artist 12 months to cut a CD. Can't blame the kids today for sampling because if the "MAN" doesn't take free music classes out of the public school systems, the entire music business would have been owned by brothers.

  • Ohio Players one of the best groups ever. I miss this kind of music its still great to listen too.

  • Can you say HORNS? Dayum! And that guitar riff is off tha chain.

  • F-U-N-K-Y, F-U-N-K-Y, F-U-N-K-Y!!!!!

  • i PERSONALLY EXPERIENCE THE BLUE LIGHTS IN THE BASEMENTS. ME , AND MY 3 SISTERS SEEN A LOT OF ASS WHOPPING BACK IN THE DAY. I LOST MY INNOCENT ON THE HONEY ALBUM. SWEET STICKY THING. DID NOT REALIZE I WOULDNT RECIEVE THE FEELING UNTIL THE 90'S. AND ONCE I DID.................

  • @49mskitkat Hey, at least you had fun! LOL

  • Listening to Diamond on the chops made me want to play the drums at an early age!

  • ahh the birth of funk, thank you james brown! i always spent too much money buying the new 'players' albums..

  • The Players hit #18 in Billboard, 9-18-76. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • this reminds me of teen years.vanessacoll40@yahoo.com

  • this would be a great sample for a hip hop artist!!

  • @mrlaydback1 .... it would be a great sample.. but they gotta put good lyrics behind it..

  • marshal jones on bass, rock solid funk-a-thon

  • This was yesterday's Prozac, then came POP. We all had SOUl withdrawals. We had generic soul, with samples, loops, tweaking, robbing and fiddling. A wank, in other words. We never got the real thing. These people did. They freebased sex and soul off their speakers. They were REAL. You know, like James Brown, Sam and Dave, Otis...right up into your bloodstream. Now, who they coo? Not me. I just listen to this, and I'm coochied to my woman smoking weed and wishing for MTV to die a painful demise.

  • @Sirgreaseflick You know what's up!!!

  • YOU HAVE TO SIT AND LISTEN TO THE GUITAR LICKS THROUGH THE WHOLE SONG. IT HS A COUNTRY LICK, BUT FUNKY AT THE SAME TIME. SICK!!!

  • @afrosensuous Definitely a "front poach, hoedown, rooster in the hen house" part! lol! OP are essentially jazz musicians, just like TOP :-)

  • Group is still going strong. Sugarfoot the drummer does not play the drums anymore and does a lot of the vocals. I say them in Portland a year ago during Terell Brandons New Years party. Damm did they sound good

  • this was the first band that put the bass kick drum up front in all the records they did.

iis a good sound hey hip hop did it in the early 80's.

  • I miss the 70s and I was born in 85.

    :-D

  • Do whatcha wanna do!!!!

  • Today you won’t even accidently stubble up on any music like this…and the horns!!! Man you pull out a trumpet or a sax today, most folks would run out of the room afraid because they won’t have a clue that it’s a harmless musical instrument…huh? What’s an instrument…so sad!!!

  • His backbone gone, he can't do nuthin'!

  • man, this was a stone cold jam back in tha day,my dad used to have the original album then. i'd always look at their album covers in amazement. half naked women on them, and some kickin' songs to back it up!!!

  • That drummer,I got to say one of the baddest and quickest bass kicker on a drum set

  • He is David Williams aka Diamond. Totally agree. Awesome track!

  • @toygnisht His name is James Williams...not David. LOL Oh, if you have heard anything on what Marvin Merv Pierce is doing then let me know. LOL Merv is the tallest middle man with the horn.

  • @Greatersend

Unfortunately Merv has passed on. Check the Ohio Players on Unsung.

  • @eyeremeber No, you mean Clearence "Satch" Satchell the sax player and Peewee Middlebrick have passed. I was told that Marvin "Merv" Pierce have became a business web designer. In addition, I have watch unsung twice and they did not mention Merv.

  • *laughing*....Somebody is gonna request that I be barred from YouTube..but here I go again. My friends and I were all 13 and 14 when this song was out. Our voices were deepening.
