Hard to believe this was 6 years ago. Looking in hindsight the actual game was pretty close to this render, but was definitely inferior, although not by a heck of a lot. Motorstorm's actual gameplay however was quite a bit worse than the CGI trailer we were shown. I just hope companies don't try pull this bullshit again this E3.
Well, I was just passing by, but I just wanted to say that you have to be FUCKING INSANE to say that these graphics can even be compared to the shitty graphics Killzone 3 has. I mean, Killzone 3 looks great for a game of this gen, but have you ever seen this trailer in 720p? The amount of detail is staggering, it's something completely out of this world, Crysis 2 can't even compare.
That's why some people knew it was prerendered from the start, because it was just too good to be true.
I remember being hyped to fuck when I saw this trailer than when killzone 2 came out and it didn't look as good I was gutted but now killzone 3 looks even better than this :D
ive only played killzone 2 demo... my opinion from that (which is obviously a weak opinon) is its just a cod modernwarfare with a dark futuristic fantasy theme. it has cool explosions but the detail of the violence is pretty shit for the standard its trying to project. i mean when will they bring out a game where every individual bullet rips up the specific body region it hits? im bored of this generation of gaming, it seems its been too long.
Have you noticed how xbox gamers stopped commenting on this video when the game was released? all the time they were saying "Its video footage, not real gameplay"... well of course it was as they couldnt get a console to deal with the similar graphics to this (which Killzone 2 is amazingly bang on with this promo) but alas the game arrived... looked lush and as amazing as the Xbot fanboys said ' A cut scene' :D
KZ has better graphics in some areas, agreed, but overall, Crysis still looks better. KZ relies on dark textures and shadows to hide all the crappy ones; almost all the colors you see in that game are dark.
In Crysis, not so. Draw back distance and environments are much lusher and better looking. That's just it.
The reason alot of Killzone 2 looks dark is because in cities War is dirty, grey and dark.
Stop hating on Killzone 2, it is the only game to ever represent war as it really looks like. If you want to hate on a war game, hate on Halo as that game thinks Warzones are full of pastel colours!!
Halo is in a completely different environment. You can't compare, because the same could be said about Team Fortress 2 and a number of great war based games.
And sorry, but it has been ruled Crysis looks better. It is advanced far beyond what any console is capable of at the moment. That's all I'm saying, cause I'm no fanboy, especially not a PC one.

Halo might be in a different environment, but it is too pastel like and does not in anyway represent a warzone, so if you want to hate on a Shooter hate on Halo because it claims to be the definitive shooter, with story based on war, and is nowhere near it's claims.
@EternalSoul175 crysis has better graphics but i prefer killzones graphics i own both crysis and kz2 and love them both equaly but kz2s graphics just apeal more to my taste its dark and gritty and feels like a real war
@EternalSoul175 also crysis and killzone both have there strong points in there graphics crysis has amazing realistic textures but killzones fire explosions and bullet effects are better then crysis's and once again i own and loe them both alot i defend either one on site so im not just jumping on your ass for loving crysis because if i was id be a hypocrite

yeah it does dude, the ground has better textures the effects looks better the lighting looks better. even though in this trailer the animations look better and the faces, the final game looks overall better. and i'm not a fanboy to ps3 =D I'm a pc gamer btw =}
The game itself actually looks a bit better than this, thanks to Geurillas special "Foreground tecnique" or whatever I should call it. They put more work in the foreground than in the background, so that the visuals looks better! And on top of that the gameplay looks just as good as the graphics, so this is gonna be a GOTY candidate, absolutely...See you online, if I can survive these remaining days.....IF....
No, this actually was a target render for the game, but now they have some actual gameplay videos, and the graphics look just as good with better visual effects. There are many videos you can check out, just type in Killzone 2 beta, and you will see a lot of videos.
Why is this trailer 'infamous'? The gameplay visuals in the actual game aren't far off those of the trailer.
