I really love this song; when i first saw it I didn't expect it to be low, but it makes it sound other worldly, like it wasn't sung by a human girl.

I don't blame the mermaids for killing those men. The men (pirates) they come across are dirty, smelly, cruel and want to get in their pants. Plus, they eat meat. Singing and being pretty is a perfect hunting method to lure the food in without much effort. It's food; I don't see anymore showing mercy to a hamburger when it's right in front of you.

One'a the things I loved, for some reason, about the mermaids in the movie... was how far they can come out of the water. And they don't move their hands around or anything. When they come up, it's almost like they're standing on something, underwater, u know0_0 It's kinda hard to explain, but it's basically just something humans can't do. It's cool looking;)

Well, I think this one was aimed at a slightly older audience. As one of the cast members said, the mermaids in this movie are a little bit closer than the original stories than a lot of the more modern ones, including the H.C. Andersen fairy tale and the 1989 movie. If you remember/have seen the mermaids in Peter Pan, they actually were trying to pull Wendy underwater. That part was right out of the book, but I think Disney toned it down so they mostly just scared her.
