Smart lady, I like her, even if I think her religion is pure mythology.
I used to be a mainstream mormon, and I must say that this is the best explanation of the "Adam-God" doctrine I ever heard... never understood as well as I do now. Still don't believe it, however!
So, there is multiple Godheads, but the Godhead of Mormonism didn't form until after the life of Adam? Why does God go by the same name during Adam's life as when Adam became God the Father? I have been reading articles by Mormon Fundamentalists and their discussions of the nature of God make more sense to me than what Anne is saying, that's all.
What if God exists, but none of the religions are true, including the mormons? have you ever read up on Deism? There's a good article in Wikipedia about it. Why don't you read it then reply via private message?
@Kaileo1 Don't feel bad. I had to read a 147 page book on Adam-God doctrine to understand who Michael, Adam, Jehovah, and Jesus Christ all were in the Old Testament.
@SuperTheophany: ??? I don't feel bad at all. I've done enough study to know that the whole Mormon church thing is all false. Freedom has made me very happy! :)
this woman real brainwasher specialist for support pedophiles -she told(in part 1-2) what Smith has sex with 14 ,16 year girls-disgusting evil and satan religion, nothing with real God!
alllife, back then, marrying teenage girls was pretty common across ALL religions. people grew up faster back then. i know it feels weird, but even my own grandma got married at 14, and that was years after J. Smith (1920)
this woman real brainwasher specialist for support pedophiles -she told(in part 1-2) what Smith has sex with 14 ,16 year girls-disgusting evil and satan religion, nothing with real God!
Listen, I do not agree with Mormon doctrine, LDS or not. But this woman is beautiful and smart and also, in her own way, very accepting of others' opinions and beliefs. I don't like the teachings of any Mormon church, but I absolutely love this woman.
Anne B. Wilde is a very interesting person. I don't think she would every hurt anyone or be part of an organization that did. I just don't agree with much of what she says. I don't understand how God/Adam/Michael could possibly be the same entity. How did Jesus and the Holy Spirit get bumped from the Holy Trinity? That being said, I absolutely do believe in the freedom of religion as long as children and teens aren't being hurt.
my mistake, multiple husbands is not "polygany". the proper term is "polyandry". all of my polyandrous boy toys are still gonna suck balls. ain't nothing changing 'bout dat!
i wanna be a polygaNist! not a polygaMist, who weds multiple wives. i wanna have multiple husbands. WAIT! just kidding. men suck balls! ..ironically, that's what i'd have my many husbands do.
Mormon religion is still only a little less than 200 years old (where as Christianity is nearly 2000 years) so you guys are still working out all the BUGS.
You know ajreck my experience with Mormons and that is specifically LDS, is that Mormons are mean/evil people who wish to lay waste their poison upon others. So I would have to say no thank-you to your cleverness. Why would I need to ask you anything or anybody, Mormon, or otherwise. I am a Christian and I think that I will ask Jesus Christ and his Holy Spirit thank-you.
Joseph Smith was born very poor but diplomatic. Having this skill, he had with people, he used this skill to manipulate people to his own ends. He saw religion as a true way to not only become somebody, but ultimately as a means to gain wealth.
I believe this cost him his soul. Such terrible blaspheme that one human can construe.
get your facts straight brother, if you want to know the truth just ask an active mormon(The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), not a fundamentalist!!
Why was it easy for Brigham Young and his followers to believe God came as Adam but not see how God could come as Jesus? What makes LDS believe in JS and BY over a well translated bible? Why do LDS pretend this stuff didn't happen and then get on here and admit this is their history? I think this means truth does not matter to most, it is just what works for you. They want to please their parents.
If these pervs want to fuck like a bunch of baboons that's their business but when they do it to the detriment of minor children it becomes society's business to protect these kids.
Well let's suppose my religion was taken from the middle ages and satan worship were my strict belief. And then, lets assume that sacrificing your children and eating their hearts were the only way I could prove myself worthy to my creator, is that ok with you? Hey, no big deal here, just an ignorant religious belief.
you raise a Good point, I have to say, but that would mean that all Religions are Ridiculous; ooh, wait... Now, I am a firm Beliver in god, but I have my own Beliefs about many things, and Based of different Religions. But like I said, you DO raise a good point to everyone watching
I am a believer in god as well, and not in the traditional organized religious sense either. My point which I failed to make was that the speaker here ignores the fact that young girls are being traded as property amongst the elders and raped. Young boys are cast out in the streets to fend for themselves.
I'm confused about why she didn't waI nt to speak to religious freedom. Could you please explain that to me via e-mail? It seems to me that if equal rights are wanted, equal responsibilities are required. Legal marriages are part of that, regardless of whether she would want them. Gay couples, having equal rights, ought to have that first, second, third, etc. certificate this group desires.
Thank you so much for posting this! Speaking as a non-Christian with an academic interest in theology, I thought this was a really well-structured interview- the interviewer does a great job of asking good questions without dominating the process, and I thought Anne was excellent at explaining her beliefs in a way that a non-believer can follow (which I know can be really hard). Thanks!
Thank-U Jesus for the ability to spot a fraud when they merely use clever words to a make a point rather than any sense of "True Spirit". She sounds like a person reading off of a "grocery list"?
for your contribution to the body of testimony available to those with minds and spirits ready and prepared to receive that which will feed their souls.
It's sad that Mormons and this lady can't see and understand that Joseph Smith was a fraud, a sinner, and a FALSE prophet. Polygyny is Biblically correct, but the mormon denomination is so screwed up it's not even funny. I think the mormons and jehovah's witnesses are having a contest to see who can come up with the craziest religious beliefs.
as a faithful latter-day saint, i must say i'm really impressed by Mrs. Wilde. i do not agree with most of her views but i respect her just as much as any member of the LDS church. i think we as LDS have to respect those men and women more and remember the history of our early prophets and the saints of the past. if mrs. wilde gets to read this, please write me a message, i'd like to find out more about your beliefs. thx
Are You nuts! joseph smith, the original american polygamist used polygamy as an excuse to "fornicate" and have sex with many women. one third of them having sex w other men, their other husband. this is against the law of "God" in the "Bible". do you have a brain. This woman is clever, but silly to those of us who know the truth.
Ahahahahaha, mormons worship a guy with magic glasses.
'Is there no help for the widows son?' - Joe Smiths last words, aka masonic distress call. That's right, your founder was a FREEMASON.
Face it mormons, your religion is a joke, even compared to other religions. I mean, magic glasses, DNA proving natives were not Israelis...god approves of then suddenly disproves of polygamy...god is a racist then he isn't...wtf?

It was interesting and insightful, and she speaks very well. I do not agree with the Mormon religion or lifestyle, but can only have respect for those like Anne that can share it so clearly, and deliver the thoughts in an educated manner. She stands for what she believes in.
Anne, your testimony of living the religious principle is impressive. No one has the right to tell another how to live their lives. I also see your point on feminism. Blessings to you and yours.
Well if any of the crap that Joseph Smith and the early leaders of the early LDS church taught are true, this lady is on her way to the Mormon Celestial Kingdom. At least she has the courage to live and believe what Joseph Smith taught. Almost thou persuadeth me to be live in polygamy. However, I don't believe any of the crap that JS taught.
Are you kidding? Although filled with a lot of Mormon history, I find it hard to believe all the hipocrisy that you believe in. I am too, blessed with my "independance, space, and the love of a wonderful man" without having to live in secrecy. It's a shame so many otherwise intelligent women believe this hogwash.
The shame is that people believe their way is always the right way and others have no right to live as they desire. You prolly share your man anyway, you just don't know it; a lot of women do and are blind to it until they open their eyes; and then cry.
"There's so much more to the Gospel than just plural marriage ..."
Well said. As a practicing Protestant and a woman, I found this very informative.
