I don't know why people argue over Mariahs race. She's Afro Venezuelan and Irish, her Mother is White and her Father is Black-Latin. So therefore Mariah is Black,White and Latin. I think lol. I don't think it should matter if Mariah was purple; All that should matter is that she's human and a wonderful singer! I'm mixed/biracial and all the time people try and make me claim a side, I always say I can't pick a side because I am what I am no matter what side I choose.

alot of people don't consider her to be black. she is irish too. Some ppl think that to be black you have to have TWO BLACK PARENTS w/ mostly African ancestry. Not two mixed parents, and definitely not one white parent. if all black people looked like mariah carey, then I think we'd look like Italians not african. BUT more than anything, Wendy is right.
