  • Saw Mossi sing this with Chisel at Melbourne Park. He smashed it. Awesome show would love to see them one more time.

  • @pretzl500 i was their two fucking mayhem from the mic man, was best time of my life

  • @sarcom8

Im 14 and i agree with you

and this is a great song Screw that new shit.

  • Some people say that Don Walker is a brilliant australian song writer and I agree. On the other hand what is fogotten is that Jimmy Barnes is the best vocal artist australia has ever known. Without the voice of Jimmy Barnes the Guitar playing of Ian Moss and the collaboration of Steve Prestwich (song writer/drummer) and Phil Small (bass guitar) there wouldn't be the greatest australian band call "Cold Chisel" See them live, you'll understand what I mean.........

  • @saririch saw em last night.I understand.Radio stations give them a bad image.Come see Baaaarrrnnnssseey lol. They are way classier than that.Great lyrics and great songwriting played by great musicians and singers.I got turned off by them as a teenager in the early 80s but now I've seen the light and not as prententious as I used to be.Wish I followed my 2 sisters advice and watched them play back in their heyday.

  • seriously one of the best songs they ever did ,anyone that ever did time will back me up on that

  • wow, my dad was lucky to grow up with this... i still listen to cold chisel stuff thats on tapes and rocords that my dad kept.... what i would give to have music like this everyday :)

  • Did when i was 18 , but in a XU1 .

  • Love the song hate the out of sync audio to video.

  • this never gets old!! shit they dont makem like this anymore aussie aussie aussie, and fuckin proud of it!!!!!

  • @sarcom8 oi oi oi fuck yeah so true brotha!

  • Yes, Chisel was the best!!!

  • @hedgewytche chisel is STILL the best ;)

  • @RaeRaeBower I suspect you're right, cos Aunty Jack says, "If they disband again after this tour's done, I'll come and rip their bloody arms off!!!" So here's to the future... Chisel will ALWAYS be the best ;-)

  • all chisel songs are great will never see another Aussie rock group like this legends love um

  • omg this is the best chisel song there is. could sit drink beer and listen 2 this 4 hours on end

  • fuck this is a good album

  • @username5964 in my opinion, East was there best album. Cheap Wine, Ita, Star Hotel, Breakfast at Sweethearts and of course Four Walls, brilliant album

  • Takes me back to the Largs Pier ( Pt Adelaide ) where the band cut their teeth ! One of the finest bands........ever !

  • remember watching chisel sitting in the back of my dads sandman panelvan in a small country beer garden still love them

  • Does it get any better than this ? ...... Rock On Chisel

  • No one compares with chisel for pure songwriting. Brillant

  • if you have never lived this you can never really get this song

  • @miarosa2008 And I wish everyday that I did not understand what you mean.

  • @miarosa2008 sorry but not true. this sing made sense to me when i was just a little girl. i guess some get it n some dont. my alltime fav band. Legendary hall o famers.

  • just spin tingleing causing heartfelt goosebumps. long live aussie rock in this crazy pop world. words worth singing

  • Chisel is the greatest Aussie rock band ever. Listening to this stuff makes me proud to be an Australian!

  • WOW so much could be achieved in 1980 with 2.23 minutes. Its the standards Chisel classic. This and Janelle. I hoighly recommend seeing Jasnelle's tribute. Its awesome on a Chisel afternoon.

  • I reckon that this is Chisel's best. Short, sweet and real.

  • What is it about 'prison songs' that can elicit such emotions...check out 'How To Make Gravy'by Paul Kelly.

  • that song breaks my heart. paul and i were born in the same hospital...

  • you're loseing everything you had before you went in,,and hoping what you're waiting to see again when you're out,,,is gonna be there for you. and you know its not going to be the same.'When you know you've let down the most important people in your life,,,its pain. These songs pin it down for me,,,4 walls and Gravy.

Give it a try some time,,,thats the only way you'llget it.

  • I can really relate 2 this song. It makes me cry every time i hear it. I left some very very good mates when i left jail.♥♥♥

  • Great track off arguably the best australian album vere produced.

  • Best Pub Band Ever!!! You have to love chisel for being AUSTRALIAN.

  • More than just a Pub band, one of the greatest bands ever, we were lucky to have seen them up so close. Akl, Mainstreet, a guy threw a glass jug (Th' old days) at barnes and hit him in the head, barnsey charged and kicked him in the chest, laced up boots, right next to me, jimmy went off chugged some vodka and gave his all..climbed the swaying P.A. and raged on!...real rock'n'roll!!!

  • one hell of a moving ballad!

  • I miss them i remember the Brighton Millers in Sydney Jimmy picked up a piece of ice and slammed at against the glass to let some air in didnt work

    i miss those days

  • beautiful.

  • Hey mate - post it on here when you've done it. I play in a band too and I can't talk the dicks into doin' this absolute classic!! Would love to hear a newer/modern version if it's done right! Good luck.

  • pure fuckin emotion , what a great drinkin song

  • one of their best songs, underestimated classic. love it. better than the shit they play today

  • while some nazi calls the time-brilliant brilliant song

  • Jim's best vocal and ANY track he ever recorded. Raw and emotional. Every track on East was a classic.

  • Ahhh, the memories of drinking beer and smokin' joints and crankin' Chisel in the ol' tape deck with my mates in an old torana when we were 18 :)

  • That makes me feel sad. Good memories, but sad.

  • EH man I loved that car

  • @wombatty1973 lol im 18, i can tell you, a bit of that still goes on with the chisel blasting out the speakers :P

  • @ROHAN93ification .....eeeeexcellent!!!!!! :)

  • @wombatty1973 You could not have said it better!!!!

  • @wombatty1973 Chisel 5 stars, my old LH Torana, poor old thing fell apart, give it 2 stars

  • @wombatty1973 haha sound like my old man! Love this this dam band!

  • cool song, shitty video

  • Really, hust because it's not some flasshy 80s style thing, and more like Chisel live. All the raw emotion of it laid bare, how it should be.
