Im just curious what they have done that could be considered abusive? I dont think they are particularly great people. But having come from an abusive home myself, the claim that they are abusive just frustrates me.

Oh my gosh! This is so funny but sad because it is so true. Kate is a total mess and should get help asap. I used to feel sorry for Jon but he is just a putz allowing himself to be treated like a victim. Poor children; isn't there a law out there to protect children?

It's not as if they're getting hurt people are curious as to how a household with ten people run,besides they don't film everything ,the children basically grew up with cameras around them,they are used to it.Kate isn't a mess she is abit overwhelmed at times,I mean she has eight kids and six of them are pre-schoolers,it's very hard to stay all happy and calm. Jon isn't a victim,he is a loving husband who wants to please his wife.they argue but they do love each other

Ok, so I totally love this show and I watch it pretty much every day since it is always on haha, but, come on people... if you REALLY watch this show, it might be a little over the line but that doesn't make it not true. So, since it's a spoof and is all in good fun and humor, don't take it so personally. Besides, if she and everyone else were perfect, it wouldn't make for good tv. That's not fair. Mady is NOT treated like crap! She must receive the consequences for her actions.
Mady is a child, so naturally, she will have outbursts and mood swings, but that does not exempt her from punishment.
I applaud Jon and Kate for disciplining her.
Furthermore, the show is their way of welcoming curious viewers into their everyday lives, butt just because we watch the show, that doesn't mean we know them.
They are doing their best to live "normal" lives. Whatever that means.

Mady does receive consequences? When? The last time I saw a rerun Mady came in from the bus in her birthday and KICKED a balloon cause she was upset about something. Kate ignored her. Don't get me wrong - I dig Mady! Love her energy but J&K do not seem to know how to handle her.
