There are some fair comments below. Without any doubt, the modern achievements in the pop music art are the result of the true interconnection of many nationalities’ findings having been made within their cultures.
Well, but the break-dance is the continuation of the step-dance and tap-dance techniques to which the vertical up and down jumps and on back rotating movement have been added with the simultaneous change of the feet technique. It is hardly possible to deny the shown connection between the hip-hop uninterrupted heavy rhythm and its visual analogy as it is 0:21 to 0:26. Interesting ideas, good work. Many thanks
A brilliant idea, impeccably carried out. I was looking for jazz from the '20s and early '30s (Annette Hanshaw, Harry Reser, Nat Shilkret, etc.) when I stumbled across this. Glad to have found it.
And I'm sorry to see there's been so much bad feedback from 80 year olds who can't comprehend what this video has achieved. It's their loss.
Those highest rated comments are crappy. I imagine it's the result of two cultures having it out with each other. Little do they know had we all lived in the same era we would have been best friends. After all, what you are seeing and hearing IS the cream of the crop. BTW, how can you destroy a document that is digitally plastered all over the place? I'm sure our future generations will know it's not original to the film.
The music attached says everything that needs to be said about the degeneration of music since then. The average white youngster has no culture of his/her own anymore - just a pathetic imitation of black "culture".
@lausanne67 You'd have to go back to Plymouth Rock to find music that wasn't influenced by black culture. The only difference between now and 50 years ago is that rap and hip hop music is fronted by black artists unlike rock and roll, bebop, jazz, swing, ragtime, honky tonk, minstrel, etc., which black artists developed but white artists got to perform and reap the benefits, for the most part. I'm not a fan of rap, but name a genre of popular music that wasn't influenced by black culture.
I wonder if you realise the irony of your comment? The new dance and music of the 1920s and 30s was part of a flourishing subculture in urban centres throughout Europe. Jazz and the dancing related to it was lambasted by socially conservative critics as 'degenerate' and as imitating black people (especially black Americans). So the jazz and its accoutrements for which you display so much nostalgia was itself the target of comments just like yours above!

@lausanne67 when it comes to actually dancing, electronic music, hip hop, house ,techno drum and base, trance music is what people dance to in clubs, just like it was with jazz the music is as good and diverse as the music was in the jazz era the video, it fits perfectly with modern dance music, the dance moves in many cases are virually identical, the dance culture started with jazz, the dance culture spreads across the globe, no culture? better editing and better dance sequences could be used
How stupid to destroy this documents with music - which is actually great (urban dance squad)- but absolutely inappropriate! Like it's said- there should be jazz!

I've seen the King of Jazz with the original music--I'm a huge fan of it.
I like this video post, too; it's a quite fun little piece of video interpretation you've done. And, why not?
Great music choice, great audio/graphic matching; Great job.
