  • They want to make all forms of natural foods, natural supplements, and all medicinal herbs--especially if they're safe, non-toxic, effective and UNPATENTABLE--so illegal that you'll do YEARS in prison for even thinking about them.

Cannabis is an excellent example, as more scientific & medical facts roll in, police and politicians IGNORE IT ALL, in favour of keeping up the very profitable LIES they've been telling for decades.

Human life is more important than stealing public funds, IMHO...

  • there is a thing called unreported crime and the rates of such are very high. What he is saying is true. i hope the maker of the video didn't cut some parts of the video. bc u can really change how the message is conveyed due to alterations. the sum of money proposed does seem high but that is a different question.

  • Stupid liberals! Crime rates going down doesnt mean criminals are softer on crime or that they're all in jail! Prison overpopulation is a big problem even if a stupid crime rate is going down, duh!

  • Were you also aware that the Conservative Party believes that drug and alcohol addiction are sins that can be cured by prayer?

  • There is one reference that I think backs up the theme of what Stockwell Day is referring to on a larger scale. It is an American source that appeared on 60 Minutes a couple of years ago in a segment by Anderson Cooper. It said that a widespread problem over the past several years of people in inner cities losing confidence in police causing less than 10% of inner city residents wanting to co-operate as witnesses. This is due to abuse from police. Discuss at facebook "BC Police Contract 2012"

  • Nobody trusts the police anymore, so they don't report crimes unless it's really important to them personally. And even then, they often don't. Maybe that's what he is referring to.

  • And these clowns are leading in the polls. No, really.

  • Oh that's a good one. Does a Lepracon have to declair his pot o' gold findings as income on a T5A form?

  • Even though I don't like Stockwell Day I am going to have to set the record straight. There is a declining crime rate but the reason that it's declining is because more and more cases are settled are the pre trial stage. Due to a backlog in the criminal justice system, a lot of charges are dropped and offenders are not convicted. These repeat offenders are allowed to go back into their neighboorhoods where they terrorize and indimidate people, and thus innocent people do no report criminal acts.

  • @gundamWWW

The declining crime rate can be misleading, as result of the combination of pretrial settlements and less people willing to come forth and report crime. When the police and justice system let people off the hook, many people who many not understand the legal system feel that it is not worth reporting crime. I think that we should take a two pronged approach, invest in programs that have proven to reduce rates of crime, and adequately take the proper steps to built more faciltiies

  • @gundamWWW Facilities that aren't needed.

  • @gundamWWW A crime that results in a pre-trial settlement still COUNTS as a crime. It's not as if it's the criminal justice equivalent of an "unearned run" in baseball, for God's sake.

Just admit that Canada's crime rate really is falling already.

  • @gundamWWW That wouldn't affect the rate of crimes being reported.

  • @BoredomCorner

I don't understand. What wouldn't report the rate of crimes being reported? The construction of more facilities or the investment in crime prevention programs that target the causes of crime.

  • @gundamWWW You claim that the crime rate is going down because of pretrial settlements. Oh and I missed your BS about "unreported crime" -- look at Stockwell pulling a rabbit out of his hat. What do you want Ottawa to do next, build a monument to the Flat Earth Society?

  • @BoredomCorner

First of all it's not a lie or a dishonest statement it is the truth. I challenge you to contact your local provincial crown attorney's office in your province. You can ask the staff there, if there is a serious backlog of cases, which has forced them to avoid trial? Go ahead, do it.

If a person reports a crime once, and the police are unable to do something about it, and this person is a repeat victim, they are less likely to report the next occurence of crime.

  • Thank God this man didn't become the prime minister.

  • @OperationMaple Unfortunately, his party did form the government. :S

  • @BoredomCorner Don't remind me!

  • invest in private prisons make money while you're in jail

  • this will flood our present system causing it to break under the stress just like they did in the states making stephen harper and his budies very rich and a mess left for canadians to clean up for generations to come

  • they are increasing minimum sentences by introducing bill S-10 and keeping the long gun registry making criminals out of average citizens

  • @justeffingbautiiful You have to register a car, why is registering a lethal weapon so unreasonable?

  • the conservatives plan on bringing in private prisons

  • Dear Mr. Stockwell Day, thank you for allowing our construction company to build your prison. Please find enclosed one million dollars in "gift form" for your efforts towards sending my children to university. I look forward to doing business with you in the future; hope to see you at the family picnic.

  • So, if the crime isn't reported, why the hell are we building the prisons for it? If it's not reported there is no one to put in the prison. I hate politics in this Country both federally and provincially.

  • @ cue420 & raffi....

They have to be Jews? They only go after immigrants just like Israel? Who are u guys?

    Stockwell Day... Year an ass

  • According to reliable documents cited by Stockwell Day, 6000 years ago there was only one crime, but it was a murder -- and that criminal got a slap on the forehead and went free! The Tories weren't in power then and the Liberals did nothing to address this injustice! The CP intends to be tougher on violent crime, yes sirree..

  • Actually, not a fact, I am a comedian please don't hurt me

  • Little known fact: Stockwell Day was an extra in the birdcage

  • 1. Build prisons

    2. Find people to fill them up

    Christ, what twisted logic.

Par for the course for the Conservatives, though.

  • i had so much hope for this guy 15 years ago what a let down

  • @truckerguy72 This guy lost me when he said he honestly thinks men and dinosaurs lived at the same time.

  • If he's so interested in prevention, he should fund arts and sports programs. Forget the BILLIONS to prisons.

  • Well if they're not reported, the bad guys are not in jail, hence you don't need more prisons...huhhhh? If crimes are higher than in the 60's, maybe you need to enforce laws ? That's always been one of my sticking points... Then you _may_ have criminals to go in the prisons, but - huhhhh?

  • They need to crack down on gum chewers just ofter they make it illegal, that is, if people actually rat them out (report). Really, they intend to make more laws and will need more jails to put the sinners...I mean,...offenders in.

  • Maybe the census forms are showing that... oh wait, never mind.

  • Just google stockwell day racist or stephen harper rascist and ull see why they want to pump money into more jails... they coming after all the poor and minorities!!!! pretty soon itll be like isreal and well be getting charged for rape by deception if caucasions sleeps with a minority. yeah im starting shit. cause its true here. they like picking on minorities. police state country!!! canada lost its night life.

  • I wonder whether anyone who places comments here are working, paid or not, for the conservatives and defending them for making very questionable policies.......Day's talk about unreported Crimes reminds me of Squealer from Orwell's Animal Farm, warning the other animals about the possibility of Snowball or Mr Jones returning to the farm and wreak havoc.....he ought to have explained what unreported crimes are and how building prisons deal with them

  • Well done in "reporting" this - Have our politicians slipped into the grip of Bush's puppet masters??

We (you and I) are seriously going to spend $9,000,000,000 on building prisons, when we are running deficits? Then we pay to arm, man, maintain them? Why are we doing this again? To help the few who profit from such things?

    Unbevlievable

  • "Stock" as his friends call him, is the first MP in recent history not to have attended University. He is also a fundamentalist Christian who believes that the Earth is only 6000 years old.

Statistics and facts mean nothing to these people. It's all about revenge, retribution and getting votes even if they have to lie about crime. Canada has, for instance, one of the lowest murder rates in the world. Vote NDP.

  • this guy is worse than sarah palin.

  • it's just too embarrassing for words.. oi vey..

  • If your a good bullshiter, your a good politician

  • He is Canadas Shara Palin.

  • @vincevince801 That's Sarah...but we know what you mean.

  • stockwell day talks about rise of unreported cromes??? he stepped down as leader of alliance for making rascist comments before harper took over as leader of alliance which is now the party in power

  • everytime something goes wrong, they like to find something to pick on involving immigrants. they deserve it. Rascist party that likes to breed criminals, pick on the poor and the minorities... made canada into a cult and not look into their own backyard. they say they dont want to get anyone out of trouble in other countries yet they come to the rescue of a caucasian boy who kills someone in cuba driving. our leader reminds me of lsraels far right leader.

  • haha Crime is down but lets build bigger prisons. These are the old reform party redneck ideas.

  • Isn't paying income tax an unreported crime?

  • palin-esque haha

  • The new prisons will be for citizens opposed to the government in the coming years

  • I can't believe this walking idiot is still allowed in our halls of government another baboon from the right wing Christian nutbars.

  • It sounds like Canada has allowed French stupidity to infiltrate their government.

  • Signs of NWO and FEMA camps in Canada...

  • This is one brain dead politician with no idea what he is saying. Who is going to jail? Invisible crooks?

  • Canadians are lame. Conservatives Canadians are the lamest of the lame. Canada is a very backward country.

  • @telecake i know wright! We are slowly turning into Americans.

  • @telecake IM FROM CANADA AND YOURE DAMN RIGHT!!!!

  • Canada fail

  • ya in the 60 s population was smaller the roads were smaller you only had 1 car in the family lots of changes since then , they have to be jew s to be saying shit like that jew is allowed to lie to a gentile don t ya know and steeling is good only if its from a gentile and look in to killing there something for that too

  • Just stop the Muslims and blacks from immigrating Mr Day.

And put the military to work repatriating those who already Conned their way in , back to thier basket case countries

    Duh! Problem solved.

  • They just want to lock up more black ppl

  • he's actually right, i have a degree in criminology BITCHESSS

  • This is why conservatives have lower IQs...

  • I think my cat wants to kill me #unreportedcrimes

  • I just hope he also cracks down on kitten huffing.

  • @tipoomaster Whats kitten huffing?

  • @verwestdaly

    Google it.

  • @tipoomaster Kitten huffing?

  • @verwestdaly

Yes, google it and click the first hit.

  • @tipoomaster AND puppy-taunting.

  • $10 bucks says the prisons are for Canadians who resist the coming NWO. They don't need them now, their just planning ahead time.

  • The Conservatives think tough-on-crime sells well with voters, and if that means getting your buddies contracts to build prisons to house non-prisoners for unreported crime, well, who are they to argue?

  • I bet all the people who answered they don't report crimes in this "survey" were talking about all the people they know who smoke pot.

  • lol its stupid canada day damnit

  • I know a lot of guys that fool around with girls that are to young. Yes I do not report it though and umm niether do they...

  • i think an obvious point here, is even if St.D. is correct (which he isn't), then how would building more prisons help, since these crimes are going unreported?! this is fucking laughable.

  • But say even these "surveys" were true (they're not btw)- How do you expect to put perpetrators of these crime through the legal process and then ultimately prison. If they are unreported, how can you prosecute? If there is no criminal to prosecute and convict, then why build a prison? What path of logic are these people following?!

  • @robhusx ahh exactly the point i just made.

  • They are able to get away with this absolute treachery because people were expressing outrage at a few broken windows in downtown during the G20 rather than expressing rage at waiting at an emergency ward for 18 hours, despite the fact that 1.8 billion was spent to protect the looters of the public for the G20.

  • this asshole probably has some friends in the prison construction business. canada is one of the most corrupt nation on earth. The constant selling of infrastructure in ontario which was built over decades with the publics money is a serious crime. i can't believe they keep doing this with a straight face and canadians are so docile about it. Rather than rage against this looting of the public, they are crying about a few broken windows during the G20 -another calamitous spending spree.

  • so when a friend of mine was 13, she was raped. this went unreported because she was embarassed and didn't tell anyone for an extended period of time, and still refuses to report it to the police. How are more prisons going to help this? Maybe some education on the importance of reporting would be more useful.

  • lol. what a goof... guy hasn't changed one bit.

    nice tan moron.

  • Sounds like a trap for criminals to report themselves to get into this 9 billion dollar luxury prison.

  • Comment removed

  • hes right in a sense that smoking weed is a crime...we all do it and not report it...we should all be ashamed :-(

  • Just because there is a journalist who asks the right questions doesn't change the fact that we Canadians are in serious trouble.

I am warning myself, this current federal government has been given nearly absolute power and now has an incipient doctrine of fascism.

  • I'm so embarrassed for our country. Please don't judge us based on this guy.

  • this is truly a hilarious video of a politician desperately trying to find something he stands for which people will follow...but the problem the govt is already doing a good job handling it.

  • Day must mean gov't unreported crime is up. Like where are the Whistleblowers on ethics in gov't ?

They must be getting paid off not to blow the whistle on gov't impropriety.

Canadians still think their gov't can do no wrong-morons.

  • Dang. Canada has a press that ask real questions and real follow up questions. I wish we had that kind of press in the states.

  • Thank God for journalists that are smarter than our Government leaders (not that it's hard to beat but..). They're trying to pass one right over our heads haha, does Day really think we're THAT stupid? Unreported crimes so we need 9 billion more? Wow... and I thought Bush was dumb.

  • Someone has some friends in the prison-building business, friends that are not imaginary.

  • Fuck you Stockpillofshit!

  • This is embarrassing, why haven’t Canadians done something about the gong show we call the Conservative Party. Stockwell Day is our Sara Palin except he in more Dangerous.

  • Excuse me I just have to ask, WTF do you need prisons for if the crimes aren't reported ? Does he plan on putting unreported criminals in these prisons ? you guys better look at this creep closely, he's obviously up to some kinda nonsense !

  • Did he just quote statistics that don't exist as proof of a need for more prisons ?

Statistics of crimes not reported ? WTF is that ? If they aren't reported then they don't exist, statistically !

  • Fuck these assholes are dumb, how the Conservatives are still in power baffles me, these idiots need to go!

  • In order to control a population you must have the ability to imprison them it's simple the Conservative/Religious Right's way. Lets fac it we need to be much more like America Smoke a joint go to jail, don't pay your water bill lose your home, Unpaid parking tickets, lose you licence, Drive 30 MPH over the speed limit on a dry pavement 4 lane highway with the lowest base speed allowance in the world and of course lose your car without legal representation. The new Canadian Way

  • The number of UNREPORTED crimes that are not reported is in the increase?? HAHAHAHA!

Who is stupid enough to believe this?

  • Dumb video... The poster and the questioner are too fucking dense to realize you can have statistics on unreported crime.... You know like when you see some people vandalize a store, and you don't report it to the police, then at a later time when polled via forum, phone or e-mail asking whether you've witnessed a crime in the past and did not report to the police, that is what you call unreported crime... But please continue with your ridiculous strawmans and ad hominem attacks...

  • @Lavitzzz You sound like you are feeling guilty....Have you reported an unreported crime.....This is ridiculous. Build more prisons for those unreported criminals....

We do not know who, where, why or how.......But those will go to prison. THAT MEANS YOU AND I!

  • @sikovit If you are catching more criminals you obviously need more space... Also I believe the money is not just for building new prisons, but rather retrofitting and updating current prisons that really need it. There are major suicide problems with the current cells, as there is an alarming rate of people finding ways to kill themselves within their cells. They spend money to retrofit the cells to make them more suicide resistant, so it is harder for them to commit suicide.

  • @Lavitzzz

9 billion dollars to retrofit cells with covers over pipes/beams etc that inmates can tie their sheets to?

wtf man! you're totally missing the point here... they are building prisons because they are passing bogus new laws which will be used to unjustly imprison anyone who speaks out against the government.

don't be naive ppl, the conservative government is in the game to make $.. people who build prisons have $.. and lot's of it!

  • @InEfkt Can you please show me specific legislations that are being passed that will jail me for speaking out against the government? I have heard of no such thing because it can't happen due to the Canadian charter of rights and freedoms. Please don't just make blank assertions because you hate a political group, provide evidence otherwise the arguments you make are useless.

  • @Lavitzzz More Laws more criminals. If the people like this guy had their way.......WE would ALL be imprisoned! Maybe, If the people being imprisoned are committing suicide it is time to step back and re-evaluate the whole prison system!. It is kinda funny that 500,000 people in the USA die every year by doctors who give the wrong medication, But if one smokes a joint...THEY GO TO PRISON!

  • @sikovit I agree marijuanna laws are ridiculous, but I look at what is currently being said and not prejudge the person or party it is coming from; I care about the idea first. It is unknown why people will commit suicide in the prisons, but that doesn't change the fact that we need to protect inmates from self harm while being held. I disagree with many conservative introduced laws, but I judge them 1 at a time. This one doesn't seem that unreasonable to me. Judge ideas, not party stereotypes.

  • @Lavitzzz -I agree with you on party lines.Politicians always have agendas beyond the words coming out. The problem with people "not reporting crimes" is not that the crimes are being committed, It is the FACT that most victims of crimes are victimized by the POLICE and the Judicial system making it a bigger hassle to report crimes. Once the precedence has been set to build more PRISONS, the need to fill these prisons will be used to make more arbitrary laws to place the population into them.

  • @Lavitzzz

Um - that doesn't justify spending $9-billion on prisons. Your slippery slope argument is that if I see a crime and do not report it means the crime is not being reported period and does not consider that someone ELSE may have reported it; or the police arrested the individuals committing the crime.

    Who's the dense one?

  • @chrisschnurr You strawman my argument into one very specific scenario..... Say it's 3:00 am and you see someone selling some meth, you are the only one around that sees this because of the time and you don't report it. A crime has been committed but not reported in that case. I've seen so many people sell under aged people alcohol and cigarette's so many times, and people obviously don't report them because they've been working at those places for YEARS! So don't give me this bullshit.

  • unreported crime = smoking pot, holding pot, growing pot.

  • Holy shit I better start reporting all those rapes and murders I shrugged off so my tax dollars aren't wasted!

  • Does anyone realize that Canada's debt is about to go back to what it was before the Liberals paid it down considerably? Getting tired of Conservative deficit spending and I miss the Liberal surpluses.

  • Everyone here is fucking idiots because if the liberals win they will fuck are country till it can't be anal fucked anymore. This is nothing compared to what the liberals have done to us. "I have a 30 day plan to invest in are mortgages, your dick, your cum" Stephan ding dong.

  • Number 1 unreported crime in Canada: smokin' weed! Good thing we don't report that... and, by the way,

LEGALIZE IT! Rather than build more prisons... sheesh.

  • although i don't disagree with everyone here, but simply because everyone doesn't seem to understand what unreported crime means...

people are admitting that they have seen someone commit an illegal act. the guy posing the question at the end was just making him look stupid. the kind of illegal act could be petty theft, vandalism/graffitti, underage drinking, tax evasion. etc. etc.

however the whole 'raising money for prisons' isn't going to solve nothing. except money lost by tax evasion.

  • @BoostRS Yep, I just made a comment about smoking cannabis in Canada. I've done enough of that in my day, and not once been reported. Good thing, too. However, to build prisons in anticipation of such things is ridiculous... If we legalize cannabis we could free up plenty of room in our prisons for real criminals.

  • @BoostRS

Are we to build new prisons for adolescent taggers? Underage drinking? Come on, quit defending these jack-offs.

  • @sizzletron i'm not defending them i'm just defending the misinterpretation of the video/interview. They are making him look stupid like most reporters do to politicians, i'm not a conservative supporter at all, but i don't like twisting things to make people look stupid. its one thing to say 'thats a bad idea' its another thing to try and confuse the message entirely.

  • Doris Day

  • He shouldhave stayed home from his vacation LOOK AT THAT RACOON TAN

  • This video does not do anything but add comments and make innuendo that what Minister Day says is not correct. If this was submitted by a real reporter they would refer to the information Minister Day said he would provide them. Obviously the maker of the video was not really a journalist, otherwise they would have submitted a balanced story. If they are trying to be funny maybe they should stick to videos involving kittens or kids.

  • @khunmike regardless, if crimes go unreported then why spend 9 billion on the prison system? Who's going to get arrested for crimes that no one know exist. The argument Is completely invalid from the beginning. I fear our current government is trying to mimic the police state which has been systematically imposed upon the american people. Along with channeling money to their friends.

  • @khunmike what are you takling about? Now a days this is completely what journalists report. The media has become so polarized that it's a miracle when actual balanced news is covered.

If you're so concerned make a balanced version as a rebuttle. I think everyone is aware that this isn't made by a journalist. The school system isn't that bad (yet).

Wait. Making comments is bad now? Discussing things is bad? Let's not think at all then.

PS videos about cats & kids aren't funny

  • LEGALIZE METHAMPHETAMINE!

  • F.A.I.L.

  • My car just got broken into....but I will not report it

I am also on my way to rob a bank, but I am confident that it also will not be reported, maybe jack a car and push an old lady crossing the street, it's open season!

  • @terrorXdragon

Then you sir should be jailed in an unreported prison ! LMAO

  • How will building more prisons solve the reporting issue? I don't think prison capacity is something people think about when a crime is committed and someone needs help... As it is, this decision appears to be based on non-sense, and if conservatives have their way, we will have even less data to make decisions on... Not sure how these people came to power in the first place... They have always lived to disrupt parliament, and don't appear to respect us anymore now that they are in power.

  • What came first the prison or the criminals? Conservatives have some good ideas don't they - IF WE BUILD IT THEY WILL COME (LMBO).

Conservatives are a bunch of power hungry apostate evangelicals.

  • 'Surveys clearly show.' $9 billion for prisons, $16 billion for military jets, $1.2 billion for 24 hours of security for G7 and G20 conference. Who are the crooks? I guess a lot of taxpayers don't mind being robbed by the gov't.

  • 9 billion in prisons!!! Police State's A'comin!

  • Thanks for this post. Stupid is as stockwell does.

  • this video is retarded. Day made plenty of sense, and he explained it all

  • @thomasvvvwww Rofl. Right.

  • Comment removed

  • @thomasvvvwww

I almost thumbed up your comment, thinking that you've got a very sharp sense of humour and are being entirely sarcastic but then I realized that couldn't be the case. damn, what circumstances could create someone with opinions such as yours?

  • athiiiiest-thanks alot man!!

  • all i hear is 'blah blah blah, cause fear in you, propaganda, buying the vote for upcoming election with the crime issue, i have no evidence and welcome to the new police state."

  • I actually understood what he was talking about. But he seriously should have put into better context and articulaton... b/c though i did understand, it didn't seem 'solid'

  • so we should also have imaginary prisons for these imaginary crimes,JUST IMAGINE....

  • @ninjaboy166 amen to that

  • Protest chant when he ran for the Reform Party

    Anti choice

    Anti gay

    Please don't vote

    For Stockwell Day

  • @libbyshome this actually rhimes...

  • @libbyshome That's the conservatives for you. I never have and never will vote for them.

  • If they aren't reporting the crime it is because they view the police and or the laws as unhelpful.

  • if there is an agreement that most people are compassionate enough to not turn someone in for petty crimes (i.e. drug use) then its probably because your Conservative laws are out of touch with the people you are trying to govern. look in the mirror and if you can't see the error of your ways and vote the way we want... we'll resign you, bitch. and soon.

  • A mind is a terrible thing to lose. He could report that to the police. They could help him find it because they have nothing to do.

You gotta hand it to Day, he didn't break out into uncontrollable laughter even once while spewing complete and utter nonsense. Such control!

  • Actually, the only positive things Day has done during his tenure is with Canadian Jewish Congress and UJA.

  • WOW, WHAT A DUMB ASS!

  • Apparently the lack of real crime is driving the Police to arrest people for imaginary crimes. One thousand people were recently arrested in Toronto for imaginary crimes. This could be a problem if this need to arrest people for imaginary crimes spreads across Canada. Where would you put all these imaginary criminals until the courts releases them?

  • @zeeterblog The so called 'surveys' are likely the premenitions of precogs from Minority Report.

  • @HowToChangeTheWorld

That's it! Precog's will pre-emptively arrest people, until the jails are full. The police already used the precogs during the G20 in Toronto. They arrested 1000 people BEFORE they could commit a crime, its genius. Not only will crime keep falling it will fall to below zero...and then they'll build more jails, to pre-emptively jail more people before they become criminals until everyone is safely in jail.

  • @zeeterblog They were detained not arrested many were released within 48 hours.

  • @bob6yt7

Oh well then that makes it all okay. Being "detained" is not like being "imprisoned" is it? So then its okay. I think it feels the same. I think it looks the same. I think you are at the mercy of the police. They can release you or decide not to. They can charge you or decide not to. As a "detainee' prisoner you have no freedom, it is gone...just because they felt like taking it away, until they changed their mind, and released you. Nice real nice, detention for nothing.

  • @zeeterblog It's as simple as this if you don't want to be detained or arrested do not commit crimes or unlawful acts. Every protester in the Toronto rally should have been prepared to experience being arrested or detained just as the rapist or Murderer should be prepared for a lengthy jail term. Without the laws in place in this country people would be shitting on the streets and running people over with their cars. i support the police 100% what i dont support is the government.

  • @bob6yt7 No you are wrong. 98% of the protesters were peaceful. They did nothing. The police were looking for trouble, looking for trouble. The protesters were looking to protest, peacefully, which almost all did. Yet THEY were arrested and the few, led by agent provocateurs, escaped. The violence was what the police were trained to prevent, yet they mysteriously vanished when the windows started breaking. Most of the arrests happened the next day when no violence happened except for police

  • @zeeterblog Lookin for trouble you are trying to say because there was police at the protest, there was violence. its not like the police broke the windows or burned the cop car. If the police were not there the situation wold of been a 100 times worse do u know what mob mantality does one person in a crowd throws a rock the rest of the crowds adrenilene gets pumping and more people start throwing rocks. The police prevented alot of violence through detaining large numbers of protestors.

  • @bob6yt7 Think. The police knew the Black Bloc, the followed them for a year. They were highly visible. Everyone, even reporters noted them. The police trained for violence and had identified the ones most likely to attempt it. 20,000 police, armed trained and ready. When the violence started: NO POLICE ANYWHERE? It makes you think. One billion dollars spent on police, training, equipment and reinforcements. But they missed the cues? They had agents in there provoking(like Quebec).

  • Comment removed

  • Stockwell Day has his head up the ass of the Canadian Jewish Congress so long he is living in another world.

  • I can think of countless areas where 9 billion dollars can be used. He used the word alarming twice and the only thing alarming is our govt and their think tanks. Heck, 9 more G20s would even be money better spent than this. They should create a ministry that just concentrates on imaginary issues at this point. If I ran my business like these retards run our country I'd be bankrupt 100 times over. This is classic Canada. I would love to see these "surveys".

  • Because there's a lot of unreported murders and kidnappings in this country...
