No, the Kangen machines are certainly not being made obsolete by Aqualiv Water or any of the other johnny-come-lately imitators. Kangen machines absolutely do produce stable ORP and pH, and it is measurable and proven over many years. AquaLiv's site is a very cleverly written advertisement for their products (with many misrepresentations)... but they can't fool a good researcher.

Kangen and all water ionizers create and unstable alkalinity that only lasts a day, and it is NOT Hexagonal, only micro-clustered. These type of machines are being made obsolete by Aqualiv Water System.

Also the pH of water is already close to neutral, pH 6 to 7. Also increasing the pH doesn't act as sufficient disinfection. By increasing the pH of the water harmful water pathogen can survive high pH and electrolysis such as Pseudomonas, fecal coliform, and E.coli. Proper disinfection is needed to get rid of these pathogen, that a filter may compromise.

@CCEE100 Ideally, we want only a minimal amount of calcium and other minerals in our source water since they're inorganic and problematic. The ionizer doesn't compromise the treatment process; its filter removes the harmful chlorine which we want in our pipes, but not our bodies.

I have a question, aren't these minerals naturally occurring in the water? I live in Edmonton, Alberta and the water is naturally hard and has a lot of Calcium. Why would we want to take minerals out of the water that are naturally occurring? I think that water composition varies from province, to state, to country. Does this filter process compromise the treatment and disinfection that occurs at the water treatment plant?

Calcium sulfite (CaSO3) is approved for use in many filters to help remove chlorine. A salt solution is added to Enagic's machines to achieve the extreme pH levels for disinfecting and emulsifying. The word "chemicals" is used by Enagic's so-called "competitors" as a scare tactic.

It doesnt add chemicals to split the water. Electrolysis enhancer is used to create strong acidic water and strong alkaline water. Also, the machine flushes the enhancer out of the plates after it is applied

Kangen water has a Carbon filter, it removes Chlorine but not Fluoride. Fluoride is poison.

You must know there are no chemicals in Enagic's machine except a salt water chamber that you'll only use to produce strong medical grade acid water (which the Genesis cannot produce). The drinking water has nothing added. However the severely underpowered Genesis does need chemicals (bad inorganic minerals) added to it via the filter. Talk about a scam...

Bamptonbred, the biostone filters are loaded with inorganic minerals which are no good for your body long term (cause stones, arthritis, bone issues). The reason Jupiter and others use these mineralized-type filters is to chemically boost the pH of the water since their machines are way too underpowered to do the job. Proper ionization is done through electricity alone. Enagic is the only company that offers this.

I recently had my water tested, after having my water filtered through the biostone.. and the results were amazing,there was virtually no contaminants found in the water..

I cant comment on the the filter used in this, but i know the biostone, is one of ther best filters out there

While some other ionizers may have 2 or 3 filters, they also have INORGANIC MINERALS (ie: Calcium, Magnesium) which wreck havoc in the body. As far as filtering, even 2 or 3 filters may not do the job. It all depends on what's in your source water. I'd rather have control of my own filtering, and not add extra inorganic minerals to my diet. Extra filters means higher replacement costs (especially considering these are prorietary filters).

There is NO FLAW with the Enagic machines. This device is an IONIZER, not a filter... two different animals. The Enagic filter is designed for chlorine and lead removal. They offer additional pre-filters to address the specific issues with your source water. The idea is to buy the best ionizer (SD501), then add filters according to your source water quality. Also, the SD501 electrolysis process is powerful enough to break apart many contaminants. Yes, PiercingKnight, one should prefilter.

Kangen ionizer is a good machine compared to others but it has one major MAJOR flaw. It only has one filter which does not even come close to removing half of the bad stuff in the water. Almost all other ionizers have either 3 or at least 2 filters. Just think about it, when you drink alkaline water you drink about a gallon a day which is a big increase of water that you drink but it's also a big increase of all the poison that you drink that is in the water. Get a prefilter for this machine!!!!
