Think about it - I'm old enough to remember when there was only 4 news stations, CBS, ABC, NBC, and PBS was just coming into their own. FOX didn't exist 35 years ago. All of their programming was on the channels higher than 15 so the syndicated shows (reruns) from the big three were always fuzzy. Where did they come from? Don't know, don't care - they don't count as a news organization - history shows they are just running reruns - and syndication experts. Don't pay them any serious mind.

@johnnyohness Lol don't even need to use that argument. Fox uses "average ratings" which measures viewers by the minute which counts each viewer multiple times. If you use "cumulative ratings" and count total viewers throughout the day then any channel's got 20% better ratings over fox easily.

If only a few hundred thousand previous questions and acts by Fox "News" had met this level of journalism, Fox might actually be, well, journalism.
Fox maybe biased but I do take issue with the idea that we are in Iraq solely because of Fox News. The Iraq war was a multilateral failure of the media as a whole: CNN, ABC, even the oft accused of being liberal NBC just loved showing off the scary "What if" footage of Iraq. I think it's funny that there are all these people on here condemning Fox news for being biased, yet none of them want to talk about every other news source. Is Fox biased? Yes. Think about it - I'm old enough to remember when there was only 4 news stations, CBS, ABC, NBC, and PBS was just coming into their own. FOX didn't exist 35 years ago. All of their programming was on the channels higher than 15 so the syndicated shows (reruns) from the big three were always fuzzy. Where did they come from? Don't know, don't care - they don't count as a news organization - history shows they are just running reruns - and syndication experts. Don't pay them any serious mind.

I agree to the extent that I've listened to him. He let himself be used by Fox and now he is realizing he was being used. He does seem to be starting to fight back (like his comments on Beck's show... which seems to be the flagship of Fox at the moment). Dissenting with Cenk's assertion that Fox anchors are shunned from other respected news organizations, Keith Olbermann worked at Fox from '98-'01 and now works at MSNBC and is highly respected in his journalistic integrity. @johnnyohness #1 youtube is extremely left wing and sometimes edits what videos you see when you search (it is owned by google) dont believe everything you see. #2 There actually was a vote... its not just a slogan. #3 There are other newsorganizations (single digit channels) that are FREE with no cable no nothing that still tank in ratings every week. #4 Rachel maddow spends have her time bashing fox and imo is WAY more biased than fox. Watch her john stuart interview she cant even admit it.

Before I disclose some of our differences, (on news VS news )maybe you can answer a question I have had for a long time. Why does Utube not allow the posting of links that may reference another's point of view? I have an idea ( spamming possibly)? If so that's unfortunate. I not even sure if links posted on Utube are post-able. Maybe you could shed some light.

I watch a verity of news shows to try and stay somewhere balanced, however Maddow and others on MSNBC do spend a lot of time just correcting or disproving Fox's claims. Fox presentation of the news seems written and presented for the consumption of 4th grade mentalities, not to mention their purposeful maligning and misrepresenting the administration.
Fox Sunday is their only half credible news broadcast. Fox and Friends is a disaster..

Second, the majority if john stuarts clips are from fox and friends and his most recent guest was the fox sunday host who received a fair amount of praise from stuart, so thank you for being a mouth piece and telling me what i already know, MSNBC bashes fox, thats it, they don't "disprove" anything and if you weren't a mouthpiece you would know that, everything you have said I have already heard from stuart/msnbc please think for yourself.

@Arcturistheballer Again ratings has nothing to do with validity of content. There is probably one 4 star restaurant for every 400 Mc Donald's restaurants, that doesn't make McD's a better restaurant because there are more of them or more popular.
I appreciate Maddow because what ever she reports she backs up with documented fact. She has critics on the right but none have ever pegged her for
misconstrued information. Her ability to expose them with proof garners their disdain for her.

@johnnyohness Lol don't even need to use that argument. Fox uses "average ratings" which measures viewers by the minute which counts each viewer multiple times. If you use "cumulative ratings" and count total viewers throughout the day then any channel's got 20% better ratings over fox easily.

I was viewing a clip seen on Huf Post, a very recent Bagger meeting.Sure as hell there was the John Birch Society there looking for members.Most of the people interviewed were Fox news fans.Talk about the dregs of the earth.1 yr has past since they made their grand debut,and now they are realizing those who created and paid for them (Koch Inc) are now the ones that want to take their Medicare away from them. Here's a serious question. How many on-air Fox personnell have left Fox and are working as on-air talent for a REAL network news station? I can't think of any, but maybe there are a few out there. I don't mean the token "liberals" formerly on Fox, I mean on-air talent who towed the Fox party line while they were at Fox? I would bet former Fox producers would ALSO have a hard time finding work after leaving Fox. Any input would be appreciated.

Nobody on the left gives a shit how much time right wingers spend watching fox news. Rush Limbaugh gets good ratings but it turns out that only old racist assholes listen to him. They're enough to give Fox and friends ratings but while they are commited viewers they are still the minority. Just because a lot of people watch Fox doesn't make it a credible news source. Popularity doesn't equal piety. Hitler was popular too.

I'll hammer Fox as viciously as anyone, but in this case, Smith was correct. It was a legitimate and unbiased question completely appropriate for an interview. If only a few hundred thousand previous questions and acts by Fox "News" had met this level of journalism, Fox might actually be, well, journalism.

Fox maybe biased but I do take issue with the idea that we are in Iraq solely because of Fox News. The Iraq war was a multilateral failure of the media as a whole: CNN, ABC, even the oft accused of being liberal NBC just loved showing off the scary "What if" footage of Iraq. It really was a complete disaster that everyone was responsible for cheering on.
If media will ever be reformed then the flaws of all the outlets must be addressed.
