your a great cymbal tester man. Most ppl either are afraid of hitting the cymbal or try to kill it!! You are like the perfect mix, right in between. Great job man
I'd use b8s for now because I have no drum experience and don't want to buy something I don't like. Zbts are horrid like these but are better than agazarian cymbals I have
Of course cast cymbals are higher quality I would get some when I'm better at drumming from my own pocket not my parents
@royalrepublic11 You obviously have never played any professional quality cymbals! B8 use sheet metal, AAX and HHX are Cast Cymbals! Cast Cymbals > Sheet metal Cymbals :)
@royalrepublic11 Urm im not sure, i haven't looked at new cymbals for a while. Most of the AAX Lines are awesome, I'd defiantly recommend the Stage ride :) mine is awesome :D Check out my Latest videos where i use it as a crash :)
@royalrepublic11 ill sell u my b8 10 inch splash so just pm and i can make a video so u can hear how it sounds i git it for 55 but i could sell it to u for 40 cuz its used thanks
@joshuachan56 b8 pro is'nt worth t to they're too low end
xs20 last along time but the sound isn't really anything to write home about and the amount you'd spend on them you might as well go for aa or aax that sound great too.
I cant comment on hhx I've never owned any but I use aax myself
and I think its interesting that even drummers who are endorsed by Sabain use AAX more often than HHX or Vault as far as I've seen
these sound just like A customs... the finish even looks identical. to be honest, i have to give the A customs the edge here, with the exception of the AAX stage ride, which i think is fucking beastly in every way.
A got a set of aax stage (hi hats, 20" ride and 16" crash) off eBay for £250. I hate the crash. It sounds wayyy better on this video. I compared it with my old zxt crash and I preffered that. Maybe because was used to the sound of the zxts, but
yeh i knew about the modern bright, modern dark, vintage bright, vintage dark etc.
but i thought that hhx was the dark equivolent to aax and on the sabian forum they said it was impossible to make the whole "dynamic focus" thing on a hand hammered cymbal
yeh turns out you're right hhx is hand hammered. i just thought it wasnt 'cause at one point someone on the sabian forum said you cant put the dynamic focus thing on a hand hammered cymbal. i guess hhx has a similar kind of thing but not the same.

Please let me know, I'm going to buy one immediately.
I am the biggest die-hard Zildjian fan, and I own all A Customs. But god damn, that Stage Ride is sending my A Custom one on Craigslist. I am breaking down and switching to Sabian
yeh. bob left the company because of arguments i think and made sabian. naming it aftr the first two letters of his childrens names which i cant remember off the top of my head.
wow , it`s between Zildjian A Customs or AAX`s , after seeing this im sort of leaning towards teh AAX`s anyone have any opinions please reply , btw , NICE CYMBALS DUDE!
Nice cymbal set up. The hats sound so bright and cutting. The ride sound good except for the bell, but I think it sounds killer as a crash. The Stage crash sounds amazing, nice and washy. The HHX sound very dark but cutting at the same time. That what I really like about Sabian cymbals, they can come up with any sound you want. My favorite cymbals are the AAX Metal crashes, cause they're a very loud and bright cut to them.
None of them. Save up and get pro level cymbals so AAX! You can buy used as well, usually getting good deals. (make sure there are no cracks!) Buy cymbals in packs so u get a better deal!
Yep. Its totally up to you mate. I would go try them out! u may find you don't like any of them! Make sure you find two crashes which complement each other if your going to swap lines or brands.
The regular x-plosions are, Medium - Thin. I know this sounds stupid but if u have a thicker cymbal you will crack it quicker than a thin cymbal, because the thin cymbal can move and flex more.
it gives cymbals a much brighter and better sound while live and in recording.
wood makes cymbals sound very dry.
aget a nylon stick and a wood stick and hit the ride cymbal lightly with the tip with each one at different times. you'll notice a remarkable difference.

mariwanaman 2 years ago
straight from sabian
"Hot, simmering darkness is the sound of HHX. With its 'Tone Projection' design, this 'Modern Dark' cymbal shoots its tone through the music around it. Darker, dryer, dirtier, funkier... only HHX delivers darkness with such efficiency."
calummordue 2 years ago
