  • too the band/dancers/ percussions/ etc: All those hours of hard work payed off! Great job! You did amazing and I was astonished by you're performance!

  • do any of you guys know where i can get this song?

  • With some differentiatians

  • We r doin this show in hidalgo :p

  • @325MADness I was a freshman for this show at Reagan, but I did attend this past BOA in San Antonio to watch my cousin perform for Reagan. I got to see Hidalgo's performance and it was definetly a flash-back!! You guys did great. I absolutely loved Synergy and it was crazy to see it again.

  • they are in the top 10 of best band in the USA!

  • we are doing this show this year....

  • It looks like the kids were given way too much freedom with their visuals. I dont know who their band director is, but it just looks too unruley. My band director NEVER would've let us get that sloppy. However, it was an exciting crowd pleaser so they have that going for them.

  • Please try to mitigate you're insults towards such things. The people who put the hundreds of hours into this routine did not deserve the pretentious comments you and others have put on here. If you're truly educated with these sort of routines then you must know the blood, sweat and tears others have put into making it perfect. Next time instead of being a downer and hurting the people who really worked hard for this, just say you need some improvements but other then that you did you're best!

  • 7:58 = COOLEST RIPPLE IN MARCHING BAND HISTORY <3!

  • We played Young person's guide, but it was nothing compared to this!

  • i love RR

  • @woodwinds4ever Yes, William S. Hart.

  • why are the sets leading up to the pyramid and circle at the end of this video than another video from later in the season? did they change something?

  • @HsoJosH88 They learned a new ending to keep the time under 8 minutes for UIL.

  • Back In 2008 my band performed this show but the visuals were completely different from this.

  • @zeldafan4567 William S. Hart?

  • 3:02 to 3:40 is cool

  • that is the ugliest circle at the start of the show

  • This is not talks yeah in marching. Still amazing music though. Keep it up.

  • I like how Ronald Reagan Bands music isn't so dark but very uplifting giving its audience like positive hope in the near future. It shows that a marching show doesn't always have to be so dark and "emo".

  • 8:30 gives me chills

  • whats the name of the song that starts at

2:06 if anyone knows can u tell me please

  • Comment removed

  • @keyblademasterlockon: The piano part is a custom composition from Carol Chambers.

  • 1:38 to 2:04 is beautiful.

  • Man I wish there were more shows like this today, you just don't see them that much any more.

  • @DrumManTX I agree. I don't think there are many bands out there that can perform like Ronald Reagan. Before anyone shoots off there mouth I never went to this school I went to school in Indiana.

  • at 7:55

  • did any one notice the flute's (3rd from the left bottom row) hat fall off?

  • trully, i would love to see less guard in every marching show. they distract me, and not in a good way, from the band music and the marching

  • I'm not overly fond of the direction color guard has taken in the past 10 years or so because it has gotten, as you said, distracting. A successful show should use all sections so that they compliment each other, not distract from one another. Guard instructors really need to work on that. Having said that, it seems equipment writers are always wanting to do the whole "faster-harder" approach when it comes to work, but it shows when they don't pay attention to the talent level of the students.

  • @faupel But then Judges do not take you seriously. I know from Experience.

  • nostalgia!

  • AMAZING! well flags couldve done better....

  • lol amazingly this was one of theyr bad performances if you see the other ones the forms come out great and the gaurd rapes

  • wow, such great marching, such awesome drill

nice music too, our band played the first part of this last year, everything before that english horn solo

  • lol i remember where i started so i like to follow every step. this is the only part of high school i miss

  • omg! I remember this show! It was sooo awesome! I loooved the music! i remember going to different contests that season and seeing this show over and over and i never got bored of it!

  • Can't help but say, i love the fugue at the beginning by Binjamin Britten. Simply awesome

  • ha, its funny to go back and try and pick ones self out. In doing so, I just remembered how here at 8:28 theres this cluster of like six people on the 40 that have to form into an X, and instead of going directly to my spot I kind of have to do a curve move (tall bass clarinet.) Forgot all about that!

  • whoa weird shakos! awesome show though lol

  • Was the song the english horn was playing Claire de Lune?

  • no, its original music by Aaron Guidry.

  • Comment removed

  • No the only the bit from 2:37 to 2:46

I watched one of his newer shows which had Claire de Lune in it and there was the same melody. Then I listened to Claire de Lune and I could hear it. Guildry just speeds it up and removes the improv.

  • outstanding

  • awesome drill!!

  • i agree with Motogu i think the exact same thing...its not the same if u want to win now in days raise above 100,000 dollars to buy props and impress judges in order to get 1st place

  • that guard work looks really difficult. I'm surprised they pulled that off pretty well. Only one or two drops. 4:22

  • theres another shortl after

  • the transitions i thought were really good and Regan Rattlers Rock!!!!! lol

  • So, what band are you in again?

  • The show packed a lot of GE though =D

  • I like their headgear. Very Futuristic!

  • Is it just me, or are all of the best marching bands in Texas(LD Bell, Marcus, Reagan, Argyle)?

  • There are a lot of good marching bands everywhere, not just Texas. And not all really good bands compete in BOA.

Be a little bit more careful what you say, as you might hurt someone's feelings.

  • nice man im going to be going to this high school

  • freakin awesome show. this would have to be my number 2 fav reagan show of all time with beyond peremiters being number 1

  • This is what you call a "Marching Band"...a show like this just doesn't win in modern days...it has to be all theatrical. This is pure amazingness. Marching and playing. Compare this to some recent BOA SA winners. Not the same competition anymore.

  • Are you kidding me man? Marcus is all about marching and playing that difficult music. I like L.D. Bell's shows, too, but I agree that it's more impressive to see bands integrate marching and playing to a high level.

Though I must say, this show is the most difficult visual package I have ever seen put on the marching band field. No contest.

  • Marcus plays difficult music (and REALLY well too), but they do no marching worth noting. Also, Marcus uses the most extravagant props of ANY school I've seen. It is NOT the same competition anymore, in part because Reagan and others started doing some crazier things back around 2000 (think PCEP's band in a box, and that weird hair in one of Reagan's earlier shows).

Watch 2:40 - 3:10 again and tell me when Marcus or anyone has done something like that to win a BOA in the last couple years..

  • Wow. I can't believe the number of kids (and they must be kids) who are trash talking the "drum solo." Clearly, there is no "drum solo" in this show. There is not even a percussion feature, nor does there need to be. The percussion is well integrated into the musical program, the front to back communication is great, and they contribute to effect with great sensitivity. If you don't understand that this is the POINT of a good percussion section, then get off the internet and go get educated

  • finally someone who knows what the fuck they are talking about.

  • Someone please tell me what song is being played at 6:15

  • I'm in the harlingen high school band. I was super impressed when I saw this video. Wow, nice.

  • tough crowd :\

    i thought it was awesome

  • im a sophomore this year at reagan and the band as i can see was much more badass back in the day

  • too many rifle drops! geeze, but i still enjoyed it. well done

  • Bravo! but its a little easier to do with a big band i would be going to this school ad tryed out for the drumline would of made it lol but good job great show

  • is that an english horn at 2:20?

  • One of my favorite first hits during my tenure at Reagan. =]

..i hated the fins though. lol

    -No Regrets '07

  • Good job guys, this is going to be my 08-09 show this year , im looking forward to it.

  • i went last year with william s. hart high school it was sooo cool

  • wow this was 2004 not last year when we went. R.R. did a different show.

  • fhag

  • u spelled fag wrong

  • ben ur an idiot it even says clearly 2004

  • Tran is amazing.

  • whos ordoxeno1?

  • I just wish we had gone to Grand Nats :( I never got to go

  • oOo!! I can see me! botom right of the box :)

i loved that show.... what a way to go out senior year

  • lol...the black.wihte.and pink flags remind me of shamu =] haha.

    i <3 reagan.

  • man I LOVE that drum break at 7:30! It is just awesome and gets u pumped up!

  • you have got to be kidding that has got to be the lamest drum break i have ever heard. haha

  • really?! lol i thought it was cool! maybe i just like the synth in it. i mean it is kinda cheesy but hey, whatever works. the show still rocked.

  • yea im not trying to hate or anything that was a great show but you just think with everything else that was so great you think that they could make the drum solo a little better than a basic rock beat, ya know?

  • i think it's pretty obvious that that drum feature wasn't meant to highlight the drumline's skills and technique. you can tell from the rest of the show that the drumline can play more than just a simple rock beat. that section was meant to have a different feel from the rest of the show. it was for General Effect

  • Understand that the intent was not to impress the audience with tricky rhythms. It was a different mood, and not everyone has to like it, just like people enjoy different types of music.

Also, accept the show as it is, and realize that there are literally hundreds and hundreds of hours necessary to create shows like this. It's a little disappointing how you openly insult it.

  • I don't find out anything about our marching season until may, at the least.

  • i love this show. we're doing this song for marching season this year. i cant wait!

  • why is it that the field looks different every year?

this year 04 looks dull in 05 it looked dark and last year it looked dull again and well this year it looked really dark.

  • Different Turf?

  • this is the 1 in San Antonio... U probably looked at the 1 in Indianapolis or something

  • no...every year in SA the field looks brighter or darker...

  • wtf, what is with those hats!?!

  • They Are Callede Shakos

  • what kind of hats are those???

i've wondered since the first time i saw this show.

    lol.

  • WOW!!!!!!! Beautiful sounds at 3:05

  • Not their best show

  • they have one of thee best music programs EVERR !!

  • Beastly.

  • OMG Can you say broken arrow 2006 ROFL

    at beginning lol

  • "it chooses me" is now on my accountg. so come check it out!

  • You guys are amazing.

  • see you guys on indie, ayala hs, good luk!

  • damn color guard messed way up at about 4:00 ouch

  • great show, but WTF is on their heads???

  • this is pretty cool how it mixes two pieces..or however many i cant tell and cool formations..except for a few minor errors

  • dont worry college band isnt as hard?

  • Gosh...this scares me for college....

I 've had no marching band experience....

    I take dance....so,

    I guess....maybe that helps?

  • yeah this is more Drum Corps Oriented than College. College marching band is about having fun. DCI is about excellence.

  • @1337evan The diffrence is marching band kids dont know when to have fun and when to work hard. Corps have the perfect balance of fun and hard work.

  • Hey, i got this DVD....^O^, GJ guys...^^

  • whats that weird noise at 4:18??? is that the guard?

  • Yes it is.

  • Ronald Reagan always strides to make their shows entertaining, with synergy being without exception a very well put together show.

  • reminds me of the 80's anyone else?

  • RR's shows are different from most others. They have a sound and use instrumentations differently than a lot of other groups out there. As a result there shows are some of the most entertaining shows.

  • actually 3 dropped but its ok. good show

  • lol...both colorguards dropped at 4:00

  • Stop talking...-_-"

  • critic much?

  • sorry just got a little carried away

  • or did the tempo kept changing?

  • I think they rushed, it seemed like they rushed but I'm just saying. If they were not feel free to correct me

  • and there were some people missing huh?

  • didn't quite make the circle at the beggining

  • Nice uniforms again.....^O^

  • This is an Aesome show and I'm lke on the sidelines watching with the Totally Awesome Crew Dogs.

  • What would be some great alternate names for this show?

  • The endings totally diffrent! I like it alot.

  • Good, but the rifles missed alot of catches.

  • :( wish i went to college the states

  • great visual show. Same person(s) playing piano as in 2005. not bad music- when you do play.

  • really? prove it. Furthermore, "it sounds better" is a subjective term, and therefore cannot be evaluated. Thus, please refrain from negative comments of no warrant in the future.

  • DCI doesn't have bands

  • i like the hts that the band wears what are they??

  • I remember this show from Woodlands BOA Marching Festival my Freshman year. It was an amazing show! -- our school placed 7th overall, and we're a UIL band :)

  • WOW! No wonder this school got 1st place! AWESOME! :-D

  • modern ballett
