  • A bus driver makes tricky manuevers, with an extremely heavy and large vehicle, with passengers inside with no seat-belt, and many times, standing up dozens of times a day, all year! And some city can have more than 2,000 buses circulating at once and sharing many routes and stops. For buses not to collide more than they do, you have to be impressed by the drivers. But this was just negligence. He was calculating his speed by looking the bus in front, or checking the money, then BAM!

  • PAY ATTENTION IMA A BUS DRIVER AND FOR THIS TO HAPPEN YOU MUST BE CARELESS AND UNSAFE!

  • where are this buses from??

  • whats bus 246?

  • Can you say PAYDAY! Holy sheeeet.....

  • i know this isnt funny but at 1:21 i laughed it was like they were jelly beans being tossed around by a child :L aww poor them :(

  • ''So over all I think where doing a excellent job" i laughed so hard when he said that

  • It could happen here in the island off Montreal to. Because some bus drivers in Montreal are not carrefull they following close another vehicle with out keeping the distance also they are pressing the gaz when they are turning. Also when my mom turning she don't press a gaz.

  • Is pathnetic! Because is too much too heavy engine of those bus to cause lack his brakes to try stop the bus. They've been hitting the other bus!!!

  • HAHA @ 3:10

    Stupid mailbox...

  • If you ARE blinded, you don't just continue and hope the street is clear.

So his lie excuse is no good, anyway.

I suspect both drivers briefly dozed. I am vulnerable to that. Luckily I can stop and sleep.

  • buses need to have seat belts for the passengers and not just the for the driver.

  • put a cctv to all buses so that the company will know how their drivers doing while driving and even cough in a accident

drive safely to all drivers.. peace

  • I live in SA and i ride on Via metro buses 5 days a week 2 times a day and have been riding the bus for over 12 years. In that amount of time, I have only been on the bus for one collision and it wasn't the drivers fault. But I think some people need a CDL and actually be there to know what its like to drive these vehicles.

  • when was this? date?

  • I say this is not enough not to ride the bus because you could be driving, riding the train, hell I've seen people get hit while crossing the street. But I will say the damn buses need seat beats!!!

  • @BNDProductionsInc seat belts would be cut off by our great SAN ANTONIO GANGBANGERS...

  • Are these people so doped out that they see glares and cats that aren't even there?

  • scary i ride buses pretty often...makes you think

  • i bet those people on the bus got paied though haha.I know I would claimed my check.

  • -think about the millions of buses around the world and the countless routes that they drive and i reckon the stats tell you that you are more likely to have an accident in your private vehicle-(lol not including mirrors )yeh buses lose a lot of those!

  • Oh, we are doing great... YEAH right or there wouldnt be any crashes DURRRRR

  • City of San Antonio has Immunity to an extent...many of those claim get DENIED!

  • haha

Ooooo i blacked out my ass just made it up for big claim

  • These drivers should not be "disciplined" based on a point system. If you crash, CLEARLY you aren't qualified to do a job where you get to sit on your ass and drive.

On each and every ride I ever took I could hear at least ten cars per ride honking at the bus for either being in two lanes are the same time, not signaling, or forcing themselves into a hole, making another car have to swerve into the next lane to avoid a collision.

  • hey buddy i support what you have said here the two lanes issue sometimes we need to lanes so we dont clip a tree or a sign or light whatever it may be so two lanes get taken. Now buses arent very tall so there may not be an excuse for them i actually drive a truck and we are about 14-16 feet high at the trailer so we need more space at times

  • "THIS IS WHY I NEVER RIDE THE BUS"? Because sometimes they crash? How the hell do you get around then?

Also "Via Bus Accident video you won't believe on TV-News-4. " Come on, give us some credit... we're not THAT skeptical. The evidence you've given us -- that one bus did in fact rear-end another -- well let's just call it pretty compelling. I'm not a gullible guy but I'm prepared to say on the basis of what I've seen that this really did happen. Maybe I'm just credulous.

  • I myself was a bus operator trainee and I along with my co-workers saw and got involved in a lot of accidents and near collisions during our training , but ultimately I got terminated...., I was extremely cautions and nervous, the company thought that I was a bad asset....oh well...

  • love that mail box video!

  • No matter what kind of vehicle we humans operate ,all of us have a responsibility to drive/bike safely, follow the rules of the road, and be considerate towards other motorists, bicyclists, & pedestrians. On a 2nd note, this video shouldn't discourage you or others from taking public transportation. There's people in the transport industry that are dedicated to their work/safety and have to deal with other reckless drivers in cars & SUVs

  • i trust via with getting me where i need to go. but looking at this makes me wonder HOW MANY ACCIDENTS has via had in the pass 2 years

  • i ride the bus everywhere i go. i mean i dont have a car or anything. but now that i think about it. there are about acouple of via bus drivers that speed like nothing else. i mean the dude was driving so fast that when he took a turn it fell into a set while trying to move foward just a little bit. i mean just A CHAIR. now i know to take the names of the drivers or the bus number.

  • Gee I hate to contradict a news reporter, but those buses are not 16 tons. They are anywhere about 20 tons EMTPY! Secondly, if the reporter where to have his CDL, buses are conditioned to pull tight to one another at stops due to their length (40 feet on average). Thats a lot of bus to clear.

A lot of agencies are switching to 7" dia LED lights to increase their visibility day & night. And eventhough the reporter cannot see any glares, try sitting behind the wheel with road infront & sun behind

  • i will cosign with this one i drive a truck and i catch some mean glares sometimes its almost like there is too much windshield at times

  • WOAH! Did you see how far that driver shotput that mailbox??!! Right off into the middle of the crossroad!

I agree with 2 some million runs accidents will happen, but come on. These ones had no justifiable excuses

  • That is a good reason not too.

  • Small wreck, low speed, BIG ouch!

  • Ouchies! Great footage. Buses are extremely conducive to big injuries from even minor crashes, as shown here. Thx Tex, I'll be replaying this in my mind every time I go to work.

PLUS, you also don't ride the bus cause you have at least vehicles, including a massive truck, at your disposal, LOL!!!

  • Who is tex? I don't have a truck, I have a Chevy Cavalier. My dad has a Chevy Suburban; he lets me drive it sometimes. I used to have a Mustang GT, but I was t-boned by a drunk driver.

  • Hey kissrocks, Anna was talking to me (Tex). I sen't her this vid to chk out...I appreciate you posting it!!!

  • Holy crap! I agree, I wont take the bus either!
