  • Hello,

How did you get your interface like that? I just installed Ubuntu today (new in the Linux universe) and have the version ubuntu-11.10.

My 'task bar' at at the left side of the screen but I want to have it at the top, like you do. I cannot find the option for that, since I only can change my background and theme.

    Thanks in advance.

  • gnome 3.2 sucks

  • imiss gnome 2

  • It no long works on 11.10 - you can change your root password with sudo passwd, but not edit in - gedit /etc/gdm/gdm.conf

you should get a error now.

  • thanks for the awesome video, it helped me install a driver on my system and now i have compiz, awesome! Thanks again!

  • You know you don't have to do all of that, all you have to do is "sudo bash" then enter your password.

  • It tells me gedit is not a program installed...

I'm using Backtrack 4 Pre Release...

  • gedit is just a gnome text editor...

you can use any text editor u wish...

    for example:

    kate /etc/...

that will work if u got kate editor installed
