There are 5 nests in cell phone towers behind my house... Every year we find chicks that fall out and we raise them. Once they get their flight feathers, we let them fly away when they want and they join the others.
i have seen this birds routinely in east Houston as well, there are a lot of them , over 50 to a flock. there are a couple of loquat trees around my house, and these guys just love perching on them and eating that fruit. they are noisy but pleasant to watch. My caged budgies love the company of their cousins as well
wow! they're everywhere now! Their all up in the new england region of the U.S. It snows here like crazy and you can see them flying around even still.
the only reason im watching this is because i love birds and i recently owned a monk parakeet that is now passed away... i miss him... he loved hot cheetos.

@Alidore4 they ARE quaker parrots. they have multiple names, the " monk parakeet " is actually the scientific name. or original.

@BigPlunger I'll rather look at a monk parakeet then a house sparrow any day. Hopefully they flourish.
