Just watched this movie yesterday, and absolutely loved it.There were some characters I wish had been utilized more before being killed off, and some of the preds went down too easily IMO, but overall, it was a great sequel that didn't disappoint. Nice gore, nice action, cool gun battles, didn't overdo it with the CGI, a cool finishing fight, and solid acting. It's sure as hell at LEAST 1000 times better than the steaming pile of elephant shit called AvsP.
NO spoilers but aside from very very few goofy moments (one standing out in particular imho) this IS one hell of movie. As close to the quality of the first as you can get imo, with some tense moments and some really cool homages to the first one.

@5613n8 YES!!! Alien 3 sucked! As you may know this movie is ignoring the AVPs and maybe Predator 2, or as they call them the "bad sequels". So if Predator can do that then why not Alien? A talented writer and a talented director should make an Alien movie that takes place after Aliens and ignores Alien 3, Resurrection, and the AVPs. What do you think about that?
@5613n8 Well James Cameron is busy with the Avatar sequel. He planed an Alien 5 that, from what I hear, was going to write off 3 and Resurrection as a dream and was even going to cast Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie. But they rejected him to do AVP so he ceased working on it. Right now Ridley Scott is doing a two Alien prequels. But I still they should do the ignoring thing like Predators is doing. What do you think of JJ Abrams director of Star Trek to do an Alien movie.
Don't get me wrong I'm a lifelong fan and see great potential in this. I as well as all predator fans are destined to like it, even if we can only love parts of it. Thanks for keeping the dream alive.
P.S. It will be interesting to see Olag in this, he's come a long way from UFC + he closely mirrors the physical prowess of Arny in the original Predator and is for sure a bingo for the remake similarities.
Predator from its inception has been a visceral, primal pursuit. A hunt. I hope to see a character more to the tune of Benicio Del Toro's character in "the hunted." More instinct less glitz. I mean "death squad personnel"? Those people don't tend to be too dangerous when you shoot back at them. Perhaps this filmaking team should rethink the makeup of a few of the characters or rescind the statement of "the most dangerous killers on the planet" premise.
Its a hard sell to me that some black op's stuck under an e-10 paygrade in conflicts they don't understand. A petty criminal thug (yakuza) I spit on them and their perversion of bushido. A marksmen and other distance fighters and highly mobile small unit specialists leave something desired maybe for the next film.
This prime human would fight or stealth his way to what few survivors are left and make the last stand of the prey--this would give the predator kingdom a more refined and accurate taste of modern man. All of the characters havn't been introduced so I'll save total judgment until the verdicts in, but I find the human sampling so far sorely lacking. If you were tasked with putting together a team of "the most dangerous killers on the planet" yeah you might run across some of these types.
Simply can't wait. To me the Predator and Alien storyline can go on for a long time as long as its handled carefully and done well. In this movie, I wish one of the characters (human) could somehow be tactically inserted by the predators -- a human outfitted with the predator shoulder cannon and targeting system (remember we've fought amongst them and earned their respect since the 80s) We picked up the canon technology in one of the AVP's. This guy would be the ultimate human badass.
Let's face it, it's gonna suck. Rodrigez is good. Got a great setup. Few good flicks under his belt. But why waste time on common ground. What the fuck? Ran outta idea. Didn't see the downward trend on these flicks that try to cater to the fanboys? Go make a real movie. We don't need another Pred movie. Even if this turns out to be good, so fucking what? It's already been done. Who's gonna care?

I'm not gonna say this is gonna be good or bad because there is never a guarantee that a movie is gonna be good. Though I'm disappointed that it's going to ignore Predator 2 and AVP, you may hate Predator 2 and AVP but they had good qualities and they're gonna take away those qualities making it a direct sequel to the original.
All I can say is I hope for the best and hope that it's good.

@5613n8 YES!!! Alien 3 sucked! As you may know this movie is ignoring the AVPs and maybe Predator 2, or as they call them the "bad sequels". So if Predator can do that then why not Alien? A talented writer and a talented director should make an Alien movie that takes place after Aliens and ignores Alien 3, Resurrection, and the AVPs. What do you think about that?

@5613n8 Well James Cameron is busy with the Avatar sequel. He planed an Alien 5 that, from what I hear, was going to write off 3 and Resurrection as a dream and was even going to cast Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie. But they rejected him to do AVP so he ceased working on it. Right now Ridley Scott is doing a two Alien prequels. But I still they should do the ignoring thing like Predators is doing. What do you think of JJ Abrams director of Star Trek to do an Alien movie.

Don't get me wrong I'm a lifelong fan and see great potential in this. I as well as all predator fans are destined to like it, even if we can only love parts of it. Thanks for keeping the dream alive.
P.S. It will be interesting to see Olag in this, he's come a long way from UFC + he closely mirrors the physical prowess of Arny in the original Predator and is for sure a bingo for the remake similarities.

Predator from its inception has been a visceral, primal pursuit. A hunt. I hope to see a character more to the tune of Benicio Del Toro's character in "the hunted." More instinct less glitz. I mean "death squad personnel"? Those people don't tend to be too dangerous when you shoot back at them. Perhaps this filmaking team should rethink the makeup of a few of the characters or rescind the statement of "the most dangerous killers on the planet" premise.

Its a hard sell to me that some black op's stuck under an e-10 paygrade in conflicts they don't understand. A petty criminal thug (yakuza) I spit on them and their perversion of bushido. A marksmen and other distance fighters and highly mobile small unit specialists leave something desired maybe for the next film.

This prime human would fight or stealth his way to what few survivors are left and make the last stand of the prey--this would give the predator kingdom a more refined and accurate taste of modern man. All of the characters havn't been introduced so I'll save total judgment until the verdicts in, but I find the human sampling so far sorely lacking. If you were tasked with putting together a team of "the most dangerous killers on the planet" yeah you might run across some of these types.

Simply can't wait. To me the Predator and Alien storyline can go on for a long time as long as its handled carefully and done well. In this movie, I wish one of the characters (human) could somehow be tactically inserted by the predators -- a human outfitted with the predator shoulder cannon and targeting system (remember we've fought amongst them and earned their respect since the 80s) We picked up the canon technology in one of the AVP's. This guy would be the ultimate human badass.

Let's face it, it's gonna suck. Rodrigez is good. Got a great setup. Few good flicks under his belt. But why waste time on common ground. What the fuck? Ran outta idea. Didn't see the downward trend on these flicks that try to cater to the fanboys? Go make a real movie. We don't need another Pred movie. Even if this turns out to be good, so fucking what? this isn't a remake or a sequall. it's rober rodriguez's version of it. this is hw he sees Predators and i gotta tell u guys this looks amazing!! i like that how he kept the same ugly mutha fukkin face of the preds and the Black super predator is wut i just found out just now and it looks awesome! this looks better then the other versions of predators more believable and scarier looking too! can't wait to watch it!!

I'm not gonna say this is gonna be good or bad because there is never a guarantee that a movie is gonna be good. Though I'm disappointed that it's going to ignore Predator 2 and AVP, you may hate Predator 2 and AVP but they had good qualities and they're gonna take away those qualities making it a direct sequel to the original.
All I can say is I hope for the best and hope that it's good.
