i live in the netherlands (western europe) with a verry high population density, and i can hardly see the stars annymore just from light polution not even on the country side is it dark enough to see the milky way properly

I think it's an airplane. The streak was in more than one frame which means the light source was visible for a few minutes. A single shooting star usually doesn't last for more than 30 seconds.

i realise that whenever mockmoon film any stars or celestial items, he/she will use Nikon D3.

May i know if Nikon D3 has any special function as to be able to film what's far beyond the clouds?

The D3 has excellent low noise performance at high iso settings like 4000 which he used here, so it performs much better than most cameras in situations when there is very little available light.
