@artfan126 yes, it is true!! however it was not this version of the song, it was billie holliday's version, back in the middle of the 20th century... even the original composer, hungarian Rezső Seress, commited suicide in '68, tho in the original song & poem (1933) the singer reflects more on the horrors of modern culture, rather than on the loss of a lover .... but the suicide theme is still there
