@stombelgen No worries. Your English is find. Try uninstalling AVG and install Avira Antivir. In 3rd party comparison tests, it has found more viruses/trojan horses than AVG. But make sure that you uninstall AVG first before you install Antivir, otherwise neither will work and it will affect the performance and functionality of your computer. You can only have one antivirus programmed installed at a time.

@didrikkarlsen If you downloaded it from download (.) com or majorgeeks (.) com. Impossible, and I think you know that. If you downloaded it via a peer-to-peer software, yeah sure, that could happen. Never download programs via a peer-to-peer software program. You're just asking for trouble.

you must have downloaded it from a bad site or not downloaded the correct program. avast is not a virus. it helps so much!

@elpapicris123 Impossible. This is one of the most popular and effective free antivirus programs out there, and does not include any other programs like Spyware Doctor. Something else screwed up your PC, not Avira. Also, Spyware Doctor does not detect viruses. It only detects Spyware, hence its name. Did you have an antivirus on your computer when you installed it? If so, that could screw up your computer, as you can only have one antivirus program installed on your system at a time.

@didrikkarlsen Did you watch the video? It mentions that you will get an ad pop up when you first install it, and when it updates the virus definitions. This is because it is a FREE program and they need to make some money from it. So they have one big ad popup that pops up every time it updates the virus definitions, which is does automatically, btw. Also, check my reply to the comment below your comment.

This is a completely legitimate program and is one of the best free antivirus programs out there. There have been over 72 million downloads of this program on Download (.) com. Do you think that many people would have downloaded it if it were not legit? Plus, Download (.) com has a very strict policy and only allows legitimate programs to be listed on their site.

Download it on another computer (friend, relative, library, Kinko's) and put it on a USB Flash drive. Then, drag and drop it onto your desktop from the flash drive and install it. Good luck!

When you quarantine it, you isolate it from the rest of the computer so it can't do any harm.

That could be many things. But a quick answer is if you can't run the antivirus or anti-spyware programs, then it might be best to just reformat the drive, reinstall the operating system, and then reinstall your programs. Make sure you protect it with an antivirus program, as well as the anti-spyware programs that I show you how to use in my other video. If u need to back up ur data, take the hard drive out of the computer, put it in an ext. enclosure, hook it up to another computer & get it

They are both just as good. Avast is better if you have your email set up as POP3, as it scans your email for Viruses. However, AntiVir will still catch it the second it hits your computer's hard drive. AntiVir got a little better rating for catching viruses.

Kaspersky has one of the best antivirus programs out there. The only reason I would suggest you uninstalling it is if you want to save money. If that's the case, it's best to uninstall the entire suite, and then install AntiVir, along with the free anti-spyware programs that I mention in my video, "How to speed up your computer by removing spyware", and also reactivate Windows Firewall.
